To anybody who hasn't ridden this in person, it's EXTREMELY dark during the ride. You can see plenty of stars and galaxies and planets, but you will not see your hand even if you hold it right in front of your face. You see nobody in front of you or behind you. You literally can only hear them screaming but otherwise nothing else. To have it as bright as this in this video took lots of work.
I usually make these videos as a way to test new camera settings or editing techniques for future videos, but they rarely make it onto the channel since I think the quality is too low compared to the videos I want to post here. However, this video was so cool that I had to post it. You can see the original area where the Rocket Rods and People Mover were able to look into Space Mountain on the final lift hill! So on that note, enjoy this video unique video of Space Mountain!
A few ???s, if ya kindly please 🙏: 1.) From the “speedy efficiency” of the queue, was it pretty “dead” that day? 2.) Do they still limit how many guests can be in the Park(s) at a time?? 3.) Is that Genie-the successor to the FastPass-as bad as everybody says it is??? I ask, because… My family and I , since COVID measures were lifted, like to visit SoCal every other year for 3 weeks (my kids and I have family and friends there, and we’ll usually house/doggy sit for family while they go on one of them Disney Cruises 🚢 for a week). Anyway, since Disney started downsizing their hospitality and upsizing their profits, we’re content to make sure Knott’s BF, Six Flags MM and USH get OUR holiday $$$…🙁!!! But… Yeah… I DO MISS Space Mountain…😢… &… Pirates 🏴☠️ the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, The Matterhorn Bobsleds, …etc., Etc., ETC….😫💔💔💔💔 (Haven’t been there since 2015…🤧!!!)
@@pjwallace1006 1. This was at rope drop. Disneyland usually hits its peak crowds around 1-3pm, however, space will immediately spike to 30 min + a few minutes after rope drop 2. Technically yes, but it doesn't make a huge difference. Lines for some attractions can still easily go over an hour even on less crowded days 3. On most days Genie+ isn't really an issue at Disneyland. I would assume its because a lot visitors to Disneyland are locals so there isn't a rush to grab genie as fast as possible
I am so glad someone did this. I moved away from CA a long time ago. My family would go to Disneyland probably once a year, but the year I was finally big enough to go on Space Mountain? I'd ridden there in my friends' family car, in a rear-facing seat, as station wagons had back then. I was car sick, and it was the first ride my friend wanted to go on. So... I didn't get to go on it that time, and as it turns out, that was the last trip I made to Disneyland. So fun to finally have this ride demystified. The effects were pretty cool!
Thank you so MUCH for this! Glad they still have the great music playing inside the ride. Haven't been to Disneyland since 2011 and I painfully miss it. Trying to go this fall for my birthday.
Why can’t they fix the blue and white flashing lights in the tunnel at the start of the ride? It seems like those lights have been burning out gradually over the course of the last couple of years, and now in this latest video they are ALL completely burned out.
They finally did and the new tunnel is freaking awesome, got to experience it yesterday, had to ride space mountain twice, my favorite coaster in disneyland!
Current ride track is from 2005 (with the exception of some parts where you go slow where they decided to keep the 1977 track), so it’s not too old yet.
No It's just the camera's light sensitivity was heavily boosted for this video making it seem like there's more (brighter) starts now but in real life they're just as dim and dull as they were 18 years ago lol

You will see the headchoppers though. The clearances look insane.
HOLY COW! This is the brightest pov of space mountain I've ever seen!
Exactly, IVE NEVER SEEN SPACE MOUNTAIN LIKE THIS

Is the People Mover viewing area those 2 little black rectangles on the final lift hill?
Yea, it's trippy and cool. Thanks.
Going to have to do a new one soon for Hyperspace Mountain. It's right around the corner... so excited!

My favorite ride. I generally don't like any roller coaster, but really enjoyed this one.
Same! That is why I love Disneyland/Space Mountain so much, because I don't do the big thrill rides, and so their rides are just PERFECT for me.
This is the BEST SPACE MTN POV
Loved the walk
IT'S SO BRIGHT!
What the heck, Kris? You are the only TH-camr I have ever seen who can actually get the low lights on Space Mountain! Bravo.😀
Thank you so MUCH for this! Glad they still have the great music playing inside the ride. Haven't been to Disneyland since 2011 and I painfully miss it. Trying to go this fall for my birthday.
Yu Know I see the Track

They were at one point all burnt out a couple months ago as well. Disney fixed them and they’re broken again. Classic cheap maintenance team
@@1ronEntertainment Thanks for the info! Hope they can rectify the situation with the lights.
@@AbandonedMines11 yea I heard they were supposed to add new projection effects but idk if they are doing it still.

A 5 minute wait time sounded too good to be true for Space Mountain until I realized it was because the ride just opened
Very Nice Video Great Testing !
Good job getting the asteroid that sits in the dark! I love this POV.
Looks like fun
Dinner time+🍽️😁
You weren't joking with the MAX light! WOWOWOW! 😮
This ride is older than me. Its from 1977 and still runs smooth like butter.

@@JavaCake thats even better. That means the ride has enough demand to keep investing on it.
Hyperspace Mountain is returning in 2 weeks! I’m so looking forward to seeing this overlay when I go in 3 weeks!
I see you everywhere do you ever watch the video or do you just comment and leave
@@joeyserna2605lol ur so right, I think he just loves Disneyland.
SPACE MOUNTAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last time I rode this was in 2006, and I miss it so. Seems like they have added heaps more stars since then.

Bravo! I'm surprised you were able to show so much of the support structure! Only gripe I have is the motion is very blurry
I so wish they played the same soundtrack on space mountain WDW as this one because it is such a banger
I want to go back so bad 😢 it's only been 2 months and I'm dying 😂
Some one was having fun on this ride
I went on this ride a few days ago and felt like I was gonna fall out the roller coaster 🎢😂
Same I got so sick
Enough to make a grown man want to visit Disneyland. lol A bit more than the camera can handle. Is there a weight limit?
i don’t think theres a limit
How many are going to say " the tunnel isn't fixed yet" 😂
It's wild that one of the seemingly simplest effects, at least relative to their other ride effects, is giving them this much trouble,
@@TheAirborn who said it was giving them trouble?🤡🙄
@@alucard2010 at least let me be a little bit delusional that disney still cares for my favorite ride
5:45. Looks like they are going in the Demigorgan’s mouth from Stranger Things.
Wait…. Standby was at 5 minutes??!! 😮 Was that at rope drop?
Yo what happened with the blue lights???
Broken again?? Idk
When will they fix the seizure tunnel?
❤❤❤💯💥💥💥💥💥💫💫💫💫💫💮 supers
Yikes how many videos of the same ride over and over do we need? Are sad Disney Adults just craving this sh!t?
You clicked on this video just to say that??
You must be a sad adult craving attention.
