Fun fact from an old fart who remembers when SM opened; the little chamber you go through at 3:21 used to have soft padding with a silver (guessing vinyl) covering - people would press their hands against it all the time, so it obviously wore out quickly and was eventually replaced with a more solid material.
Probably now feeling thankful that I got to experience it fully working back in 2021, especially since it’s the first time I rode it since its complete renovation in 2005.
I rode this 1980, 44 years ago. The concept is amazing but I think they should have had less quick turns and favoured long turns with extra visual experiences of solar systems, comets and close up stars. But nevertheless a solid experience as it is!
I fainted in that ride right after so I was holding onto my dad for so long. My mom showed me a picture of me holding my dad’s arm and I was crying that time after the the employees were working and when they saw me collapse to the ground, they started to laugh😢
I went on this ride with a group of friends in late-October 2018 and, wouldn't ya know it, the ride broke-down while we were on it and had started to go a bit up the lift hill. We were stalled there for 10 minutes until they helped us all off the ride. It was so disappointing.
Space mountain needs a serious upgrade..... that tunnel..... still doesnt work. And going up the lift hyperspace. Part.... majority of the screens dont work daily. Not to mention the track alone is very loud like its breaking. Was just there new year eve.
Seems that space mountain needs an upgrade plus a rebuild of the tracks, new screens, blue strobe tunnel needs to be fixed. I just don’t get why this is an issue.
The roaring sound isn't the track it's the nylon wheels they are using. The wheels become hot which causes the wheels to become noisy. Track is only 17 years old.

It's so dark in there you almost have no idea on where you are going and when the turns are coming, but that's what makes it a fun roller coaster

I can't believe the strobe tunnel still hasn't been fixed from all that down time it was closed until now must be a major issue that they can't fix.

Space Mountain at Disneyland only has one track. The Space Mountain at Disney World has two tracks, a left and a right side
