- In this episode of our Selling Supercars series we go behind the scenes at Alexanders Prestige, a luxury and supercar dealer based in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire. Join Car Dealer editor James Baggott as he looks around the stunning showroom, and chats to co-founder Andrew North about what makes his business stand out from the crowd.
From the luxury stock that, at the time of filming, included a Maserati MC20, Ferrari 488 Pista, Porsche 911 Turbo and lots of luxury 4x4s, to the meticulous attention to detail the team place on the cars they prepare to the showroom they're presented in, it's not hard to see why this is a successful business.
This episode was filmed around a year ago when supercar prices were still high and the market buoyant. Yes, it's taken us that long to edit it... - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Hard business definitely, massive bankroll you need, good on the group, seems a lovely fellow Yorkshire man and team 👍🏼
Great Series! Thanks for the videos. 👍
Thank you!
Tearing up paper … didn’t hear the please
I’ve visited the guys at Alexander a couple of times and I have to say the whole team are just as described by Andrew. I haven’t yet bought a car from there but I would have no hesitation in doing so…
Just hope yout clutch doesn't go after 4 months on a 22k mile car. They won't help
Thanks for this really great video from alexanders super cars.wow wow.that place is awesome.great video.heres to more of the same.from dan.m
This firm set the bar very high. They lead the way and show the industry how it’s done. I’d buy another car from these guys in a heartbeat beat.
The clay bar 🤭
Great movie, Andrew garage is awesome! Thank you guys for producing this content
I would definitely buy a car from this company. Very professional and they dont push sales they just provide the knowledge in helping in the buying process and they do everything in house perfect
Great informative vid.
Over the years of buying cars only half have been a good experience and like your interviewee said it should always be a good experience. I’ve got a Porsche Boxster 981 and I feel privileged and lucky to own and drive it, and I wonder if his customers feel the same way
Great video and Andrew and Alexander are true to their word. As a finance broker based locally to them I have worked on a few cars for customers and they have been noting but fantastic with myself and customer.
A great series and insightful to hear their different philosophies and attitudes. The saying that people buy from people they are comfortable with is absolutely true: there are some high end car dealers I definitely would not trust.
Thanks Mark, very glad you enjoyed it. We're hoping to do more. ^James
I probably will never have the money to go to Alexander’s but always take look every few weeks at the stock in some of these high end dealers. It’s great to dream and well just enjoy looking at Cars all be it online. Must emit Alexander’s has one of the cleanest user friendly sites I go to. Some are a bit of a dogs dinner and then some just nail it. Seen him on See through glass with Sam and it just comes over as a genuine dealer. Probably exactly what you would want if your lottery ticket ever came up. It must be scary times right now with prices crashing on some Cars. Car appreciation unless super rare is a thing of the past unless you really want the GT3RS 😂
Obviously Tom H is still the GOAT.
there is lots of money out there- the skill is to bring it in your direction by doing everything that the customer can possibly imagine = success : )
Have used Alexander’s in the past and can say they where 1st class from start to finish
Supercars sell themselves. You just have to convince the clients which one suits them best!! #feedtheirego
Great work ethic but many people have the same way of working as he does, me included!
I was shocked by his profits tho to be honest!!
Amazing showroom, beautiful cars and very customer focused. Control seems to be the word used most. Wonder what its like working for Alexander's? 😂
If you love your job and do it accordingly, working for someone who sees their job and whose goals are the same as yours is like working with your brother.

Hope not. I don't like my brother 🙄
@@riggs1590 sorry for your family issues but I'm pretty sure you get the point of what I said. It's about having one or more things in common that make the collaboration seamless and smooth.

Yep, I got your point. My replies were tongue in cheek.
However, when I'm up that way, it'll be worth dropping in and having a look around.
That Maserati paint looked very orange peely
After watching your Video on Tom Hartley JNR and reading his father's feedback on Google and listening to him i know exactly why Tom jnr went his own way,
I did interview his dad too in this series in case you missed it: th-cam.com/video/zVrP1LMok30/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
Miller Motors Greenwich Connecticut.
Is no one going to mention the trousers 😮😂 I mean seriously.
I feel, Main dealers could learn something from Alexander’s, my experience of main dealers is usually poor
Cheers big ears 😂
These dealers put Porsche and Ferrari main dealers to shame ..
Those ratios of 71m to 1.5m pretax are just horrible. So much working capital tied up at some risk for a very small return…must be love because as a business it does not make much sense.
For context, the average return on investment for a car dealer in the UK is 1%
I have to be honest, no way, I don’t believe for one second that the profit is that low.
If you want to do poor commercial dealer let me know 🎉
Fair play to you dealing with the rich arrogant scumbags .
Selling cars is passion for cars or dont do it
That’s some melon. Thinks he’s Fabio
Lovely cars no doubt but what awful drivel from the owner, he is nowhere as unique as he thinks he is
£71m revenue with only £1.5m profit. Not much profit tbh.
Really? Do you know how business works? That’s amazing profit. Look at their overheads, it’s massive. A lot of their revenue is due to the value of their products, they are very expensive cars.
If they sell somewhere around 25 cars a month at approx 8k gross margin on each car they probably net around 4-5k off each sale. Mr Taxman then wants his share every quarter the b*stards!!
@@Rafz90 The £1.5m was gross, not net.
@@alanwilliams1223 Even then i believe that’s the margins luxury car dealerships are working with so it’s a good profitable business.
Rafz90 Obviously doesn't know how business works
Purely for the tax man watching?
Tom Hartley Jr every time. These are just wide boys whose only interest is money. Tom has a proper haircut & doesn’t need to show all that forehead, he’s a smart guy with a knowledge of cars that can’t be learnt.
His hair is ridiculous
Know Andrew but he has totally lost his way on how he think he looks good, hair???? Peach chino's????😪😪😪 get you act together Andrew, we have to look at you when we call in!??🙈🙈🙈🙈
Absolute clip mincing about like a public school boy😂
He’d put you off buying from them to be honest
Bad experience with these. Wouldn't recommend.
