Death Hags are not magic casters (Only if mounted on a cauldron of blood can they use it to cast a single buffing spell) Sisters of Slaughter are unrelated to the witch elves, Har Ganeth Executioners should be good against armoured units (They are experts at useing those blades to decapitate people thus thier name) Doomfire Warlocks are not "controlled" by Slaanesh but are instead desperatly trying to kill others to offer up sacrifices to Slaanesh to stall thier own souls getting consumed, Scourgerunner chariots are also armed with harpoon launchers (ballista) Malus Darkblade is not the ruler of Hag Graef (Retconned, he now is the leader of its army) The Dark Elve's Cold Ones are reared in the dank caverns under many of the Dark Elves cities. Spite is actually smaller than the average Cold One but is alot smarter and more agile. Alot of correction here I know but it is largely down to the fact that the Dark Elves lore is a mess due to retconns and contradictory lore sources. Corsairs wear cloaks that deflect missile fire, so they should get a missile block chance even though they have no shields. Black Guard are more defensive, unbreakable type unit with high initiative. Executioners are the heavy hitters, they should not be less armor piercing. They hit at S6 while Black Guard only hit at S4. Granted in reality a halberd is better at piercing armor than a glaive, but that's not how they work on the tabletop.

Actually on one note, Malekith was actually one of the first to kneel to Phoenix king the council chose, he did not wage war with the Phoenix king before after the cults of slaanesh ravaged Ulthuan which his mother was spearheading, so the point you made with him trying to settle it with violence because he didnt become phoenix king is actually wrong :)
Ill lay you a bet one mechanic the Dark Elves get is captives. In Total War you get the option to execute captives or let them go. But Id wager that the Dark Elves get a bonus for taking captives and enslaving them to their gold or treasury.
If you are talking about Dhar, it is not Unique to Dark Elves. They are very proficient but other people can use Dhar, specially Chaos Sorcerers. It has been hinted that Necromancy is a type of Dhar magic that developed from Blood Magic, it is a Dhar type magic focused on the Will of the caster. Qhaysh or High Magic on the other hand has been hinted at being something only High Elves can master, I personally don't think this to be true since it has only been explained that Humans cannot use it. I believe the reason behind the differences in magic users is the fact that Warhammer leans towards favoring the Dark over the Light, mirroring Norse mythology.
Highly enjoyable vid, you got a fair amount correct. But it is fairly obvious most of your knowledge of them seems to be at a second had? As in you've seen them in action, rather than played them very much. I've played dark elves for a fair few years. I'm not a pro, but would like to address several points. This might go on a while... The idea with dark elves is to use aggressive movement, multi charges, and buffing/debuffing to slam straight into the enemy army and blow it up. You would tend to try and by pass their tough units and tarpits. Used properly, DE elite infantry is capable of destroying pretty much any other infantry in the game in a direct head on charge. You then tend to use Cav/Monsters etc for hitting flanks/rears to try and reduce the counter damage they take. Dark Elf warriors. Spear types and sword types. In table top, you nearly always take the spears, but I can see the swords being far more viable in total war. These are your cheap main troops. The important thing to note really, is that they are not very cheap, and stat wise, out perform most other "standard" infantry in the game. Another important note is that the repeater crossbow men are also warriors. With armour and shields and weapons etc. So are actually capable of not dying instantly to other regular infantry. Especially when combined with magical buffing/debuffing, which the DE love to do. Then Corsairs. These are really interesting troops, and the main thing you missed is the Seadragon Cloaks they all wear. This actually makes them the heaviest armoured infantry in the roster, against missiles. Combined with a lot of attacks and/or a short range missile attack, they are possibly the most versatile unit in there. Then witches. Pretty much nailed them, except to mention they usually have an ABSURD number of -poisoned- attacks. This makes them able to slaughter low/unarmoured targets en masse. This can be lots of infantry, but they are also very capable of wrecking high hit point low armoured type things, like a lot of monsters. But then on the flip side, they are glass cannons. Missiles shred them and they cannot stand toe to toe. Dark Riders. I think you might of slightly dismissed how awesome this unit is. It is one of, if not the best light cav unit in the game. They have good armour for light cav, they are armed with spears, so they can actually charge things, and they also have a repeater crossbow, meaning lots of long range fire, fired with decent skill (they are elves). Shades. One of the best "Scout" units in the game. Best shooters in the roster. Great skirmishers. And they can also run round toting great weapons? It's kind of insane. Then the specials. Executioners. These are your nut crackers. Armoured targets. High hit point targets, all equally get chopped up by these guys. They hit -really- hard, and specialise in killing things in one hit. The Black Guard. If there is an anvil in the roster, this is it. They are not very armoured, but they specialise in standing there chopping things up till the chopping is all done. They have extremely high morale and put out constant decent damage. Cold one Knights. Not much to add. Knights riding badass lizard things. THey do however suffer from stupidity because of this. Be interesting to see how that plays out in total war. Not much to mention about the monsters. Harpies are the ultimate chaff that can fly. Hydras are just awesome. The kharibblahblahwheva is kinda new, tbh an attempt to sell more stuff by GW. Sisters of slaughter, again a bit of an odd recentish addition to the roster. I would be more than happy if neither made the game. The doomfire warlocks are also a bit of an odd one. Sort of light cav spell casters. Be interesting to see if they make it and what they do, if they do. The Cauldron of blood. This thing is a big buff machine, not really much to do with magic per se. This is what turns witch elves from being a dangerous unit, into being a very very dangerous unit. It gives them some much needed protection, but also increases attacks and their ability to wound with those attacks. Also works on other units, but synergises with witches the best. Artillery. The repeater bolt thrower is a ballista on steroids and as such is awesome. However this is the only artillery the dark elves have. They do not do all those noisy, smokey explodey things like cannons, rockets etc. Onto the lords and such. Malekith. Pretty much nailed him. "Toughtest" elf in existence, kind of. Powerful melee and wizard lord. Crazy magic armour that makes him immune to non magical attacks. Also has some other fairly crazy magic toys. His sword breaks magical items and such like. Morathi. The main thing to mention with her and the other Sorceresses is that they are usually (Morathi certainly) flying around on Dark Pegasii. Nasty flying unicorn thingers. Making them very very mobile and actually capable of killing things on the charge. Hellebron. The ultimate glass cannon. She has some ability to negate magic cast at her, but other than that she is all about a truly insane number of attacks, all hitting at literally maximum strength. She has no magic and very light defensive, but there are few things that hit as much or as hard as her. Malus. Yeah badass. Has this thing where he can release the inner deamon, but will tend to waste everything around him, friend or foe. However, one thing to note, what would usually be around him is cold one knights, as his mount basically buffs those. Stops them being stupid. Dreadlords. Standard melee lord, would tend to be "more skillful" than the average counter part. Have been known to be very very tanky in the past. Dark elf sorceresses are very powerful spell casters. They have access to all the lores. Their "specialty" compared to other powerful spell casters (read high elves and such), is an ability to generate "magical power" thru sacrificing their own troops, and also casting with "more" magical power than other casters. Read as dangerously high levels of power. They can dump more energy into their spells, at the cost of there being a higher chance for things to go horribly wrong. Thats it pretty much. The main other things to note would the "racial" bonuses. All elven races have this rule "always strike first". I have no idea how, or if this will translate to total war. Most likely will be some kind of attack speed buff or something. Dark elves also have this ability called Eternal Hatred. Which tends to mean they obviously hate everybody, and are extra ferocious in combat because of it. They also have a special extra hatred of high elves.
I can't wait to command the Dark Elves def my favorite race and the cold ones being ridden as well as the blackguard I am pumped for the day they are playable
Think you forgot to mention about Corsairs that they have their Seadragoncloakes with gives them pretty good armor vs ranged atacks (so they are dont have that low armor) ... and even the royals and some other wealthy dark elfes also wear (or can wear) Those Cloakes ... (Malus darkblade has one too i think)
the medusa units can just have a damage over time aura, that would be acurate enough, making her chariot a must focus fire unit, and prob you would only be available to bring 1 in battle.
I didn't know anyting about Warhammer before watching your videos and thanks to you now I will be ready to play that awesome new total war coming out. My friend used to field dark elves back in the day (I'm talking 26 yrs ago) - I used to help paint them, but can't say I was ever keen on them (not being a massive elf fan, way-way too pompous for me). However, a GW manager introduced me to the Malus Darkblade books when they first came out and my opinions changed. Mainly due to Malus, he is a badass, I just love the shit he gets himself into and then back out of again...but causes more mayhem than intended.

i think total war warhammer really needs some female units, So far i can only count 2 in game.
a. The vampire hero for vamp counts
b. The enchantress for Bretonia.

mostly Im hoping either Crom the Conquerer or Wulfrik the wanderer make it into the chaos army for total war....I hate Sigvald ....and im sure 3rd legendary for the chaos will be a magic caster lord....so Im kinda sad they went with Sigvald for a close combat hero Crom is the hearld of Archon it would have made way more sense to have him

My friend used to field dark elves back in the day (I'm talking 26 yrs ago) - I used to help paint them, but can't say I was ever keen on them (not being a massive elf fan, way-way too pompous for me). However, a GW manager introduced me to the Malus Darkblade books when they first came out and my opinions changed. Mainly due to Malus, he is a badass, I just love the shit he gets himself into and then back out of again...but causes more mayhem than intended.
He is so badass! his fluff is just the best hopefully we do get to see him in action :)
