Yes...an MP's job is not just development with just 5 crores a year - It can be done by a consultancy. Law-making should be the focus, and meaningful interventions in politics, which Shashi Tharoor is remarkably good at. Had I been a voter of Trivandrum, would definitely vote for him.
Only wish Shashi and the likes had all the power and resources to make India and the live of people better. Wish him all the luck for the 4th term.

1) we had 1984 .
2) most communal violence happened in this regime.
3)26/11 happened and in aftermath , we did what exactly?
4) poverty at its peak .
5) joblessness
6) women safety at worst .
7) secularist throwing opposition out of power by misusing president rule .
8) caste discrimination .

India had 16% literacy rate, hundreds of small princely states, a few large ones, some dissidents. The British govt left India like that, we had food shortages, immigration problems and what not. 200 years of looting ended in 1947. What do you expect immediately after that? We'd become a superpower in a year, or in ten years, or in 7 decades? Do you know how much time it took for the United States to surpass the UK as a global superpower? Sure, Nehru fucked up on trusting the Chinese, but he defended India from becoming a Vassal state of US and the Soviet Union. Nehru and Patel integrated India. You guys all credit Patel and discredit Nehru. Well, Patel wasn't interested in Kashmir as much as he was interested in some other states, like Hyderabad or Junagarh. Sure he fucked up going to the UN, and lost 1/3rd of Kashmir, but whatever part of Kashmir we administer currently, is with us because of Nehru only. There's no handbook back then that you could look at. Nobody spoon-fed anything to anyone back then. We had to build our country from scratch. You can't even comprehend how the situation was in post-independent India. Even if you compare with the last govt, UPA, economically UPA surpasses NDA's 10 years in every major metric except for inflation. GDP tripled during 2004-2014. GDP has only doubled during 2014-2024. Exports rose multiple time, much more than NDA. FDI growth in UPA was much more than NDA. Modi got a very good growing nation in 2014, a 2 trillion dollar economy and struggled to get it past 4 trillion in 10 years. Stop being a fanboy and read history with an open mind. Get the facts right, and build opinion on top of that.

Mr Tharoor is a highly knowledgeable person who is a voracious reader, a prolific writer and an eloquent speaker. There is no match to him. His potential is not fully utilised by the Congress party. My salute to Mr Tharoor.
I watched both interviews that this Print reporter had - the one with Chandrasekhar and the one with Tharoor. Without a doubt, the reporter asked more biased and contoversial. questions to Chandrasekhar than to Tharoor. The reporter allowed Tharoor a longer rope, and allowed Tharoor more time to speak by not interrupting him as much as he did with Chandrasekhar. It appears that the reporter did what he could to show Tharoor in good light, and to show Chandrasekhar in bad light. However, the reporter failed in his attempts, and Chandrasekhar gave terrific replies to fix the reporter.
I wish he won the Congress president election. It may not help in winning 2024 but congress may have got a genuine non Gandhi main leader
