  • Join us in the 3rd vlog of our 2022 Japan winter journey as we leave Tokyo behind and head to the snowy paradise of Hakuba Valley. In this vlog, we'll dive into our thrilling experiences of snowboarding amidst Hakuba's pristine snow. This was shot during Christmastime too!
    💭 Thoughts about Hakuba:
Absolutely fantastic snow conditions, we were lucky to have such great snow in December. Hakuba is significantly more cost-effective than in Australia, with excellent on-site facilities and food options. It has so many ski resorts to suit all preferences. Opting to rent our own car was a game-changer, eliminating the need for shuttle buses and enabling us to fully explore more of Hakuba. The snow quality is impeccable, providing a soft and enjoyable riding experience, especially when we tried out powder boards. While the drive from Tokyo to Hakuba was relatively straightforward, navigating out of Tokyo presented some challenges. However, aside from that, our journey was smooth sailing.
    Itinerary:
    🪷 Day 4:
    Rented our car
    Roadtrip to Hakuba
    Airbnb listing: www.airbnb.com...
Rhythm Japan Hakuba to hire snowboards
Yamagami Syokudou NEO for dinner (highly recommend the gyozas!)
    🏂 Day 5:
    Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort
Shopping at Patagonia, North Face and Snow Peak Land station
    Dinner at Ramen Tottsuan
Stay tuned for the next vlog where we spend Christmas Eve on the slopes! It'll be a very Chrismassy vlog hehe (and if you know me ... I love Christmas)

Hi could you share some information on how you went about renting a car? Did it come equipped with snow tires?

Our mate used Google translate for a Japanese website and just made sure that the car had snow tires. When they arrived at the rental, they brought a print out of their reservation to show them incase of any issues.

Epic! Just booked flights for March! How much was your car rental? And where from? I’m thinking of grabbing a rental but not sure if I should get it from Tokyo or closer!

Congrats on the booking! So jealous! Our car rental was AUD$1,500 and ECT/Fuel was another AUD$200. Our mate booked a rental along the outskirts of Tokyo online and just relied on Google translate 😅 If we were to do it again, it be easier booking a rental closer, although it was such a vibe driving through Tokyo.

Hey Quick question, Which website did you use to book your snowboard rentals + Ski resort passes etc...

    • @jessica.hombre
      @jessica.hombre  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hey! We didn’t use a website we just rocked up on the day at Rhythm for our snowboard rentals. And for the passes we just lined up to buy them on the day. Hope that helps!
