The kid still saying "sir" despite him being a dick and yelling at him and his friends, is a huge indicator of how well those parents are doing with their kids. Kudos to them for still being respectful even though they had every right to be pissed.
Exactly. And unrelated, but my dad is 47 and yet he still tells me to “gO OUtsIdE” and get off my phone but yet he complains when he doesn’t know where I’m at or what I’m doing. Like I literally can’t let you know if you don’t let me take my phone outside.
it's part of the decline of the third place. Young people can't go out anywhere without some miserable old fart breathing down their neck for some made up rules.
That grown adult doesn’t understand assault or battery, assult is an intentional act that causes someone to reasonably fear imminent harm or offensive contact. Battery is when you lay hands. He did assault them.
There was a study published on long term lead exposure linked to cognitive decline for people born before 1980 that I am starting to believe more and more each day.
In the U.S. we have unleaded gasoline now. However the last of the leaded gasoline wasn’t completely eliminated until 1994. For all those years people were just breathing in lead fumes 😃
Lead exposure for people born before 1980 isn't the big deal you think it is. See, by the sixties, people had caught on, and, while it is true some kids will put anything in their mouths, most kids didn't eat paint, which was the most common means of getting lead. Unless you're putting paint flakes in your mouth, or sanding lead-based paint with no protection, the odds of exposure are minuscule. So this study--point to it, or admit you're full of shit. You're claiming this crap for no better reason than to put down your betters.
HOA's are a joke. Like some Karen is gonna come tell me what I can and can't do to my own house. Get the fuck out of here! If i wanna put a 15 foot statue of a moose making balloon animals for rabbits in my front yard that is my right!
I grew up in the HIghlands of Scotland where there are no trespass laws. Whenever my friends and I used to fish on other people's land as kids, the old folks would come out with cakes and scones for us and sit with us, talking about fishing and just being really awesome and nice. It's sad the world is changing so much.
We have always had trespassing laws in America, because people litter and don't care about the environment. We also don't know the context. For all we know, those were someone's pet fish. I would be furious, too, tbh...
I did an Eagle Scout project where I repainted fire hydrants. At one apartment complex, a woman came and got pissed at me for doing it, and then called the fire Marshall to confirm I had permission to do it (I did, he gave me the map to know which ones to paint). People just want to be mad at something.
One of the streets fire hydrants is in front of our house. My brother was purposely annoying my dad. So he sent him out with a small metal brush and had him get all the loose paint off. Clean it with soapy water in a bucket he had to lug down and then dry it and paint it. Our street wasn’t populated much back then. The hydrant at the end of the street used to be used by the fire department to do something with their trucks. They would hook up and spray into the retention pond late at night.
Had something like this happen to me. Our neighbor who we are very close to often asks us to pick excess lemons from her tree since most of them spoil. The neighbors two houses down calls the cops on me and my friend saying we were breaking and entering, luckily when the cops came we were able to explain the situation and told them if they wanted extra proof we would call the homeowner. That neighbor called a second time saying our 12 pound maltipoo was being aggressive and also called the cops again. Little guy doesn’t even like to get out of the house let alone fight anyone. Joyless people
When my grandfather died we were cleaning out the house. I took cuttings from his beautiful rose garden so I could grow some of his roses as a reminder of him after the house sold. The neighbour watched us like a hawk the whole time and had mf binoculars and a notepad. That neighbour did even go visit him for the months he was in palatine care. She just wanted neighborhood gossip or even better…to call the police. 🤦♀️
I genuinely dont get people like this. Like ok, i get wanting to be safe and all- but to call the cops on ANYONE for taking some lemons off of a lemon tree THAT ISNT YOUR FUCKING TREE is insane.

I think young adults underestimated how childish elders can be. What goes comes back around, above 50 and the properties of a toddler came back to them. The only problem is that elders have "experience", so dealing with them becomes ten times more difficult than handling toddlers.
I mean, we certainly reach that "pissing in your pants" thing again. Maybe wifey can go change his diaper and they can both leave the kids alone. He was really about to go ham on these kids. Dude, stop. We're at that age where we hurt ourselves sleeping.

I had an HOA drone film me while I was doing a delivery all because I parked under covered parking. He was throwing a fit because I said I was only gonna be parked for a few seconds since their neighbors house was literally right in front of us. Shit was extremely bizarre.
Was it really private property? Plenty of instances where upset people think the entire neighbourhood and five miles around it belongs to them just because they live in it.
Its pretty normal for an HOA to own and maintain water features adjacent to homes. I'm not excusing him being a dick, but it is pretty normal for an HOA to own the lake/water front.
I live in an HOA neighborhood and got the cops called by some grumpy ass man for that exact reason for fishing at least 1000ft from his backyard. I was 9-10 years old too.
I had a discussion at one point in my driveway when I told some teens to go smoke elsewhere, they kept going on how it was a 'public space', which I just so happened to be paying for. My feelings went out to the teachers who had to deal with tiktok debatekids every day. Yeah this guy comes off as an ass, but what happened before the vid, and if it's his waterhole then surely so many kids arent known for not giving a shit, twisting editing content to go one way. This video could go both ways and I'm surprised Charlie doesn't entertain that idea but instead takes the one way bait
I just hate how people don’t talk things out anymore. If someone sees someone else doing something even remotely wrong or just something they don’t like, they immediately get hostile and try to make the other person look like they’re in the wrong when realistically all they need to do is approach them and talk to them about it
I have an old grandpa fishing in our lake and I think it is lovely. Sometimes he brings his grandchild and you can hear them talk and giggle, and you know some core memories are being made at that moment. ❤
it’s not private property it’s personal property. Private property is exploitative property used to make money (example: factory, slave plantation, etc.)
I've had this happen, found a couple of young lads fishing in a private lake on my property. I had no issue with it, just let them know that in future if they wanted to throw a line in, just let me know so i could make sure that i didn't lock the gate and they could leave when they wanted. They even asked if it would be OK to camp and swim as well. They were good kids and always left the area rubbish free.
That's because you're a decent human being who has no issues with kids having a wholesome time. Kudos to them for always leaving it as pristine as they found it. They obviously don't want to wear out their welcome. Well done mate.
Its so funny how most people don't understand that you don't have to lay your hands on someone for it to be assault. Verbal assault exists and and actually touching someone in most cases ends up being a battery charge.
Just in case you're tired of the good ol US Dollar. You can get charged for Japanese Yen, Russian Ruble, maybe some British Pounds, maybe even the funny little Leprechaun Gold Coins.

Gosh if I’m ever a homeowner a) with the privilege of a creek on my property and b) have the delight of seeing some well meaning kids making awesome outdoor memories in my creek, I’d be honored. Hell I’d probably offer them some lemonade
When he ironically said that the kids' parents would be proud of them for that, I wish they said, "And yours are turning in their graves ashamed of you"
This reminds me of when i was a kid, Old Mr Lee hated us kids playing in the public park area behind his house. My friends and I set up an awesome rope swing in a tall tree that was used by everyone. It was an absolute winner with every kid and their parents. Mr Lee hated it and hated us. He got his son to climb that tall tree and cut the branch down. The tree was not allowed to be damaged as it was a protected area. They didn't care.
As a Tennessean, I don’t know what I’m more upset about, his awful and embarrassing behavior or the fact that his gaggle of old gremlins were of the exact same mindset thinking they were in the right
Yeah, I did play outside a lot as a kid to the point I'd only come home to eat and sleep. There were quite a few adults however who always for some reason felt like the owned certain things that weren't even on their property and were instead on public property. One lady for example thought she owned the entire cement bike path in a field which literally continued for 20 blocks alongside transmission towers. Unless she literally owned those transmission towers, I doubt she owned any of that massive field which also had government trucks that would drive down the bike path in order to do occasional repairs on the transmission towers. It was clearly not her property and was government property made specifically for having those transmission towers along with the bike path so they could drive down it to make the occasional repairs, and yet she insisted that kids shouldn't be playing there because she owned all of it.
Just about everywhere one goes is 'private' property nowadays lol, especially when your living in a suburb or something. So its kinda tough for kids to play outside anymore unless they live in the countryside or have parents that actively take them to parks or something lol. Rough times, I remember playing in the woods until near dark as a kid nowadays tho most the land is owned by someone.

She would come out with a camera and start taking pictures and telling everyone she was gonna give the photos to the cops to show just how bad we were. She was crazy. We were never doing anything bad. Just playing games on the street or throwing water balloons at each other but she hated it.

Had a similar thing happen when I was a kid. There was a pond at the end of a field near my parent's house with no fence surrounding the property. Where the pond was located you could only see the top of a couple houses. I fished there quite a bit before meeting the owner one day. He asked if I caught anything which I hadn't when he showed up. He said I don't mind you fishing, but just be careful when I'm there.
I absolutely agree with the sentiment, and I grew up in an area that to those day no one would care if someone was fishing. Having said that, I understand people not wanting minors fishing on their property in modern litigious society. All it takes is crappy parents getting upset their kid drowned or was injured on property they weren’t supposed to be on to ruin someone else’s life. It’s a two way street. I mean I wouldn’t want people I didn’t know on my property either, but if I had a pond in or near my unfenced yard, I’d rather tell the kids to ask next time and make sure that they clean up any trash that they might accidentally leave in the area.
Damn that poor kids face when he breaks his rod… that genuinely pretty sad. That rod has gotta be one of that kids most prized possessions. It reminds me of Hoppers line in Stranger Things when the thing that tips him off to Will actually being missing is his bike being found abandoned. He says “a bike like this is like a Cadillac to these kids”
We have a pond at the very edge of our property that some local teens like to hang out by. I've talked to them like a normal person and all I ask is that they don't leave any garbage and that they don't swim in the pond because when it dried up two years ago, there was a TON of metal and other stuff poking out of the mud at the bottom and I don't want anyone to maul themselves if they go in the water. So far no problems - amazing what happens when you approach kids with respect and make reasonable asks.
I used to have permission to a bunch of ponds in Ohio when I was kid growing up. I even used to mow and weed eat some of them so they were accessible to fish on. We always asked and if we were turned down we moved on.

People pull into driveways all the time in order to turn around when they go the wrong way or miss the house they meant to go to, so that is terrifying to know you could die over a simple mistake
America is so weird. You go into a poor neighborhood in a city and you could get robbed. You drive into some guys driveway on accident and you could get your car riddled with bullets. Like there was a story last year of a guy shooting a 13 year old in the head because the 13 year old thought that was one of his new friend's house. No wonder everybody is so paranoid man, you arent safe anywhere.
There's a large amount of people that look for any excuse to use a gun to shoot people. They want to kill someone but they don't outright say it. Some cops, gang members and just people with a bit of a manhood issue are all up there. I'm not even against owning guns but they shouldn't be owned by everyone. There's a lot of shootings over complete misunderstandings that should have never even gotten a gun drawn, let alone fired. They can be good for hunting and sport and there are definitely situations like people actively breaking down your door, car door etc that can warrant a gun. I almost got shot myself from an old redneck tweaker that thought I was "scoping" out his tweaker house to rob. I was actually walking on the street while very drunk at night and walking home. I stopped when he was backing as there's a 0% chance he saw me while reversing. He did when he pulled out fully and that's when he initiated the confrontation looking for every excuse to shoot me. Dude even pulled that I was faking being drunk. Even when I walked away after he was still threatening me, he proceeded to follow me home at about 5 mph with his high beams on. He called the cops and they just told me to go to bed as I was clearly extremely drunk. I couldn't press charges for being followed home after being threatened as I was "too drunk" at the time.

Imagine if this had been an adult. Would the old man have broken his fishing rod and threatened to throw them into the lake, or would he be smart enough to know almost anyone 18 or older has the right to bear arms? I doubt he would do the former. He knows. This is a bully, and he even brought his little posse with him. The most he should've done was walk over and calmly tell them the pond was private property and then if they refused to leave, call the police and let THEM sort it out. But no, he's technically a politician and he needs the optics for his constituency to vote for him again.

"Kid these days spend too much inside" Edit: Didn't prewatch plus the oldman's story feels like he forgets the previous conversation every time he backs up
4:37 No, he doesn't think the police showing up will be on his side, which is why he's desperately trying to intimidate the kids into leaving and constantly threatening to throw their phones in the lake to destroy the evidence of his assault. I'd bet hard cash that he knows that the second the police arrive and the kids show them their recording, their criminal trespass will be DWARFED by his assault of a minor, and he'll more than likely be arrested. Which is why he's flailing his arms, getting in their faces, and acting all big and bad in an attempt to scare them off BEFORE the police arrive. You know - like an inept coward who likes to seem bigger and badder than he actually is.
Yes this! The same reason he is about to cry. He is scared because his threats didn't work and the police are actually coming now and he took it way too far. I bet this is the 1000th time he's done this and the 1st time someone stood their ground. Seems like he gets his "gang" to come watch him be a big man and was embarrassed when he saw them slowly start to leave one by one because they too realized they didn't want to be around when the cops showed up.
I feel like the police would just tell them to leave if they where called, theyd only get charges if they refused or came back but I could be wrong, but tresspassing doesnt seem to me like a crime that people will waste their time on with prosecution

There was a study published on long term lead exposure linked to cognitive decline for people born before 1980 that I am starting to believe more and more each day.
There's quite a few graphs eluding to the correlation between lead exposure over several decades to the increase of crime rates.
Sounds interesting
In the U.S. we have unleaded gasoline now. However the last of the leaded gasoline wasn’t completely eliminated until 1994. For all those years people were just breathing in lead fumes 😃
and before that it was asbestos, before that it was radiation. I bet this generation's will be social media and qorn.

We even made sure to read and follow all the rules of the play area despite nobody else being there and we were escorted out and banned from the mall for "disrespecting the property."
I feel bad for kids nowadays because it's only gotten worse since then. They cant have fun anywhere in public without being treated like criminals.
@@BennyFromFalloutNewVegashows the fort?
There’s so much less spaces for kids to play these days, they shut down malls, cops enforcing loitering etc

Telling someone to leave while waiting for the police, thats insane. After he broke their shit.
broke shit threatened to steal property and even laid hands on one of the kids by pushing him which is battery ...and then demanding they leave after the kids called the cops ...which would at this point be obstruction.

@Blue-qr4fiyour profile needs to be banned. You waste of oxygen.

I'm studying for the Bar Exam, and this is a great Torts problem.
I like how when the kids don't immediately obey, he thinks shouting grants him even more of the authority that he just doesnt have.
Because he grew up in a different time. Kids now are garbage as well immediately calling cops and pulling out their phone. They could’ve just left.
@@BrainWasherAttendent I would never argue that they could have left, but so could he. He also could have maintained some sense of grace and dignity instead of acting like a child.
@@BrainWasherAttendent Calling the police on a deranged man pressing up on kids is "garbage"? What's wrong with recording evidence? That guy could've done anything to those kids and the 2 geriatrics behind him would've said the kids attacked him or something.

Giving off hall monitor energy
Exactly. He knew he was wrong. The old man still hasn't learned to control his emotions and he's had about 60 years to figure that shit out.
I feel like the police would just tell them to leave if they where called, theyd only get charges if they refused or came back but I could be wrong, but tresspassing doesnt seem to me like a crime that people will waste their time on with prosecution
"gert out of herrr" 😅😅
Finally my perfect content combo fishing and Charlie also as a fisherman those signs they make have like a weird font so the “no trespassing” looks more like “there’s big ass fish here”
“geriatric goof troop” I love that, I’m now going to use that when I’m talking to a group of old Karens
I am like 90% sure that trespassing does not give you permission to destroy someone else's property. I feel like this man could be charged with a couple things
You'd be absolutely correct. That old man needs to get in his forever box.
ye depends on the state but trespassers in general still retain their rights, though I doubt that was trespassing in the first place
A tool they used to steal with
@@Anthracite_coal It wasn't. The police said so when they arrived. That dude will probably be charged with battery of a minor and damage to private property. Probably the most he'll get is a couple days in jail, a fine, and he'll most likely be forced to pay for the fishing rod. If he doesn't comply, then they will absolutely throw the book at him.
@@the_furry_inside_your_walls639 May I ask where you got that information? Formally worked for an HOA management company. Rare was it that you got the chill board that actually helped the community get better. I worked for a property management that had to deal with HOA fines and complaints. It's crazy how much it felt like the HOA were the ones who owned the homes rather than the actual home owners.
