    I really like the area Tim lives in, nice and flat. It is small but very nice home and I do love the out side porch.

    That's a very nice place in the woods. You have been around water often in your life. I like how Texans say "sea-ment".

    Just subbed to Tim's channel. That's simple but yet good enough house. Sit back and enjoy. I could sit and chat with you'll for hours on that porch. Thx Tim and Mike!

    7:33 That's a good size crack above the door. May want to patch that up for a bit more improvement on insulation. Every bit counts. FYI.. toss a strip or rubber on the bottom side of the back door.. Cold air will pour out of that.

    It was very interesting to see your video shots of Tim and Melanie house. I heard your conversation with Tim about the CHB (Concrete Hollow Blocks) made and or locally manufactured in Iloilo. There are several reasons why those CHB fall apart when you pick it up. 1. The sands that were used to make those CHB were not thoroughly clean and it contain small percentage of soils dust, thus when it is mixed with cements the bonding cement loses its firm hold with the sands, and at times the cement to sand ratio is low in cement. When I was working back there in Passi City , building the whole Passi Sugar Central, back in 1969, I worked with Honiron Phil. Inc. an American Company based in Hawaii (Honolulu Iron Works) Mirrless Watson from Glasgow England was the consultant. We used washed crushed gravel and sand free of soil contaminant in all concrete work, the same are true here in the United States,

    Hi Mike Tim is a nice guy I went a subed to him and so far I watch the Intire house build they did there he is right those bricks just crumbled with his hand, I think it was a good idea he just let them go and do there thing instead of getting involved and making it stressfullike I was telling Tim it's so very different how they build things there compared to the way we do but hey it works , thanks for the video ☺

    Tim was right. Hollow blocks are intended to form the structure and then cover with concrete.

    They don't use sand in the bricks. They use old bricks instead. Recycled weak concrete powders and cracks where sand is less crushable

    When you talked about the guy being down in the well digging it out, made me laugh and think, "Did they leave him there when the well was finished?" It reminded me of back when the farmers used to use an old horse or mule when filling a silo. They would put the animal inside the silo and have it walk round and round packing the silage until the silo was full. Then they would kill it and dump it over the top. That later was stopped when the animal activists got involved.

    Bars on the windows....?

    • @heartoflions7138
      @heartoflions7138 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      karl ritz No Karl, almost all businesses and homes have bars in the PI. I don’t remember any place not having bars save the poorest Sari Sari stores. They just board things up. Anyone can be targeted.
      In actuality, if the police catch someone who robs a foreigner, he’ll be in a lot pain waiting for prosecution. Foreigners pump money into the economy. Look at how many people who profited in business transactions, and he has a house for a family. You hurt a foreigner, you better hope the police catch you as opposed to the people.
