November 1987 WGBO (Ind., Chicago) Commercial Breaks

Taken from the Monday Night Prime Movie presentation of "My Bodyguard" on independent station WGBO in Chicago.
WGBO was a Grant Broadcasting-owned, movie-focused indie, with sister stations in Philly (WGBS, now WPSG), and Miami (WBFS.) When The WB network was announced, Tribune’s WGN originally opted to remain independent, so WGBO was approached to become the network’s Chicago affiliate. A month later, WGN reversed course and took the affiliation, leaving WGBO independent. Meanwhile, Univision saw this as an opportunity after its Chicago affiliate, WCIU (channel 26), declined to drop its English-language programming blocks and air the network full-time. In early 1994, Univision bought WGBO, converting it into an O&O. Most of WGBO’s programming inventory ended up with WCIU when that station lost Univision.

Man, I miss old school local Chicago TV. I remember a time when Channel 60 transferred over to Channel 50. They had some of the best barely seen movies, shows, and cartoons on those channels.

This was WGBO after Spectrum Pay TV went out of business. Today, it's now a Univision affiliate.
Also, I never got a chance to taste those Idaho Ripple Pringles chips.
