I see wha cha did there. 😂
Haha I was worried that no one else was going to get that TY!

Bro is making 100% walkthrough documentaries en masse and I still haven't beaten half the games I've owned for 40 years.
You'd be making 100% walkthrough documentaries if it was your full time job, instead gaming is just a hobby.
I'd like to see one on Solaris for Atari VCS. That game is wicked for that old console.
@@ZaerdinGaming I don't think this is his full time job, this is him making money on his gaming hobby.
@@unwavery Never heard of it... which is more reason i'd be interested in hearin about it on this Channel as well. :)
My inner child is forever thankful to hear the backstory to one of my favorite games. Super Punch-Out was one of the games from my youth that kept me grounded when everything around me was going nuts.
I just got done rewatching the NES Punch-Out episode and thought, "It would be cool if he did a Super Punch-Out episode..." Lo and behold lol.
Same, but I did it like a month ago
same it's so ironic that he put out an SPO video when I was thinking of him making an SPO video
This was a more than worthy follow up to Mike Tyson's Punch Out. I loved this game so much. I was in my mid 20s and having a blast with my Super Nes.
Fun fact: Glass Joe's only win was against Nick Bruiser, but only by a technicality, so they gave him the win and left Nick's record with 0 losses.
@@RagnarokAvatar Nick Bruiser don't want none of the croissant conquerer
This is fake and gay
What was the Technicality that happened...? I've never heard about this before.
I heard about the two player mode and thought it was just a rumor. Like you said, there is no telling how many video game secrets are unknown. Great vid!
Nick Bruiser is very challenging, but 100% fair. He's honestly fun to fight and re-fight again and again.
He seems like he'd be much funner to fight than Mike Tyson Fun Factor-wise...
Narcis Prince's angry "Hrrrngh" and his defeated "waugh!" are some of the funniest sounds ever to come out of a video game.
Ikr Loool
& The Sound He Makes When U Hit Him With The Super Punch 😂
I have SOOO many hours into this game, always tend to play it from time to time just for funs
I can't beat this game because I always feel bad for Gabby Jay and let him win.
same tbh
Thus is absolutely crazy to me. Im 37. Been playing this game simce it came out. I dont typically watch walkthroughs or anything but the things you have demonstrated is crazy. The skill of development in these 16bit games it wild!! Thx man i really appreciate you showing what I would have never figured out.
You can knock Nick down 11 seconds and uppercut his elbow drop for an instant knock down
Man I love this channel!!! Great content as always. Little puppy is all grown up now. 🐕
Now there are borks in stereo at the house where @U Can Beat Video Games lives.
I love how this channel makes retro games feel relevant again
That's the beauty of video games. Every day someone's discovering an old classic. Therefore video games are Forever
Agreed. This channel is amazing!
Mike tysons punchout was an absolute masterpiece on the NES hardware. Super punch out improved on every aspect of that game. Such a fantastic series. I want to replay punch out wii again so badly, but dont want to buy a whole wii just for one game. COME ON NINTENDO!! The switch is more than capable for running P.O.W. on the switch.
I've been replaying this with my daughter. Thanks for the tips!
I'm going to be Real with you Bro. Seeing every fighter and the Strategy on the side. It made it feel like I was reading a GAMEPRO MAG. Thanks foe da Meomories and the Strategy Guide👌
Been watching since almost the beginning, brother, and just wanted to drop a note of thanks for your thorough, entertaining and genuine takes on all these games I grew up with. I'm also a career journalist, and from that perspective, you really hit it out of the park, man. No stone left unturned, thoughtful takes leading into the playthroughs and clearly a passion for what you do. Keep up the great work!!!
You are incredible. Like you just know what to do and how to do it perfectly. This has to take multiple tries to get these strategies down like this. This can't be something you knew from the first time playing. The best guide you can get for this game. You are still top notch
UCBVG is so good at all these games it's insane
Ikr?
Bald Bull summed up in this game: "Body blow, body blow!"
Super grateful to see another video drop, man. Glad the channel is growing!
On Nick's rush, after blocking, hold up and y for a chance to counter the rush ending it early.
This game's fights are so fast. I remember playing this on the Switch (with the admittedly awful D-pad on the pro controller) and struggling to get dizzy.
Nice guide!
I dug this game out earlier this week to play, feeling nostalgic. It's Saturday and my favorite gamer makes a video with strats, surprising me with delight. Life is good 😊
I used to be able to knock everyone out in less than 10 seconds but that was 20 years ago. I bought this game the day it came out. This is definitely one of the best games ever made.
Punch Out boxing rules:
1. Wear boxing gloves
2. Don't die
@@LOL-gn5oh 3. PIZZA CAKE
@@EnjoySackLunch 4. RIGHT ON!!!
Dope! I could never finish the last guy on the SNES. Soul game difficult
It's nasty hard, and not smart... but you CAN intercept Nick Bruiser's jump attack witha super face. manage it, and Mr Clean heads for a power nap!
I got my Super NES for Christmas in 1994 and this was the very next game I got for it after Mario World and Mario All Stars which is what my system came with.
"You do not want him to spit on that thing." Literally laughed out loud
Pizza cake!
So many secrets after so many years. I love it, when you find out new stuff about old video games.
Love your channel and format. Love how you give a brief history of the game and sometimes the cultural relevance of the game.
I love that you have broken down the advanced strats for each fighter. Outstanding job of explaining these! By far, one of my favorite videos in this series!
Don't expect One Love when you're up against Bob Charlie!
I mean it's kind of an obvious reference xD. i would've been surprised if he didn't go that route xD

I remember playing Mike Tyson's Punch-out!! At home practicing. Then the day had come, I showed up to our local roll skating rink, (5th grade at the time) and beat the original arcade Punch out game!! Or flipped it!! Was awesome!! There was Iike 50 people around me!! Never lost.. of course I passed the controls.. Undisputed. 😂😂 I never forget that. It was such a carefree fun time!!😊😊
Tyson destroyed you
I found Nick to be way easier to fight than Rick, even back when I beat it on original hardware (still have the game and the SNES)
How in the hell do you do the research to know what these dudes were doing in their careers at any given moment the way you do? Insane attention to detail. Kudos
Prob by watchin Gaming Historian. Very similar content. Both are awesome.
10:15
You say left face punch and a right body blow, but you do a left face punch and a right face punch
I am SHOCKED that speedrunners aren't guests on this channel. I could TOTALLY see Zallard being a guest on this with the advanced strats!
In college we used to sit around drink beer and play this ALL THE TIME. We did eventually beat it but definitely not flawlessly
I love how he gives the history of the game.
28:43 was the greatest thing ever!!!
Punch Out is one of my favorite Nintendo franchises. Hope they come back with some new games in the future. When I was 10, I was the only one in my school to be able to beat Tyson. Not sure I can do it now.
At 45… my memory and reflexes are a bit weak. But maybe I should try again...
Grab these gloves and go!
Thanks so much for making these. You've been a massive help towards my goal of beating everything the Switch Online service has to offer.
OMG yesss.... I've been waiting for this one.
Had no idea the underlying "dizzy system" even existed, and I'd been kicking this games ass for years
When this game coame out, I remember thinking how much Narcis Prince looked like Leonardo DiCaprio. Now 30 years later, I remember how much he used to look like Leonardo DiCaprio
The highlight of this game for me is the goofy faces the opponent boxers make when they get hit. Rick Bruiser has some great ones.
Awesome guide! Will you do dragon warrior 4?
I may be wrong but Dragon Chan's body punch reaction reminds me of one of the Dragon Ball characters
I bought this game in 1994 and got to Narcis Prince and quit because I was afraid of the old guy with the cane. I'm gonna have to study up and beat this thing.
"you definitely do not want him to spit on that thang"
28:35
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Here's something that's not well known that I was hoping you would mention. The game has some sort of copy protection that is apparently triggered by using save states. If you load a save state on the world circuit mode, then the special circuit never unlocks, even with perfect record. That's normally not a problem on a real console, but on the SNES Classic mini (don't know about the NSO version), this means you can't finish the game if you use save states because Nintendo didn't disable that copy protection.
Yikes! Thank you for sharing that info.
as a kid, i remember beating stuart scott, i mean piston hurricane, in 7 seconds!
😂😂😂😂
Masked Muscle reminds me of Mask X from that arm wrestling game that wound up being Bald Bull in disguise.
Oooo this is gonna be a good one
Thank you for sharing this game. After seeing your playthrough of it, I am going to play it for myself. 🎮
1:03:40 the last name on this high score table led to a persistent fandom rumor that Glass Joe beat Nick Bruiser somehow.
1:06:20 As a matter of fact, when the 2 player code was finally found Ken Lobb commented on twitter, saying something along the lines of "I was wondering when someone would find this!"
They knew. They kept it from us.
Wasn't the "Glass Joe beat Nick Bruiser" thing from a Punch-Out!! (Wii) article in a Nintendo Power magazine or smth?
@@CassiDS...I don't know. If you have the source let me know.
But this is the earliest mention of Glass Joe having anything to do with Nick Bruiser.
One of my favorite games ever! Thanks!
As a kid, I recall that one of the can be beaten in around two seconds. The fight goes something like this: as you approach the centre of the ring you press down on the control pad to lower your gloves then that instant you’ll see the opponent lowering his gloves and then you do a punch to his head and knocks him down one punch knock out. I don’t recall which fighter, but I do know it is before the clown because I have never beaten the clown.
I love that old NES and SNES yellowing, mine have the same patina.
Just dont knock it over, the plastic yellowing is it becomimg more brittle over time. Every year, an old nintendo dies to cracked and broken outer cases.
Bear Hugger legit looks like a guy I used to train with when I was a pro wrestler. Funny enough, he also had Bear in his name too.
Thank god Another video is out ❤
Such an elite gamer. GGs 👍
I heard on Twitter that Nick and Rick Bruiser were based on Jake and Logan Paul.
lmao...they wish
Nah, thats an old quote from Karl Jung.
#WTF??????????!!!!!!!!!! 🤨
Back in the days I remember a friend told me that supposedly Gabby Jay's only victory was against Nick Bruiser but only because at the beginning of the fight he tripped and hit his head and was completely knocked out.
Excellent video! Puch-out! is such a great series. As much as i absolutely love Mike Tyson's Punch-out!, there is something special when you boot tSuper Punch-out!, up on the SNES. Just seeing the openings training scene, definitely let's me know that this game means business and will take practice. Thanks for the walk-through. I never knew about the Dizzy mechanic, i just learned how to beat them so this will be a nice new challenge!
classic game. It's crazy that two player mode wasn't discovered until 20+ years later. I would always name my character Mac, J.R. since I always thought he must be his kid or something. My fave boxer is either Bear Hugger or Hoy. Hoy was prob the hardest to beat growing up. Never really had problems with the bruiser bros
I beat this game in 1998
@@AdyReavill so proud
@@AdyReavill nice. I think I beat it in 95 or 96
@29:28 - Too bad Rydia from FFII/IV probably doesn't live in the same part of the SNES universe as Super Punch-Out. A quick cast of her Virus spell is really effective against Red Eye, I'm told. 😁
As I recall, you can also counter Masked Muscle's head-butt with a well-timed uppercut (face super) if you have it, just as he starts to lean backwards (you'll hear a noise briefly before he comes forward again).
As for Aran Ryan, I've also heard of his special also being called the "Irish Jig".
I remember as a kid I figured out all these things and this was the only game I really ever tried to speed run and beat my brothers in time trials
Man I would love a new "Punch Out Ultimate" for the Switch kind of like the Smash Bros series. An all new game bringing back all the fighters from all the past entries for starters. Id pay a full $70 for that day one!
Fantastic video. This game was fun. I was lucky to even get past Mr. Sandman. Thanks for doing this so I don't have to! lol
I mastered this game 16-0 one of my favorite SNES games
Might need to play this game now
He did it… he went Hawk Tuah.
Easily a top 5 SNES game. I used to be able to beat Nick Bruiser without taking any damage. I play it now and can barely get to the special circuit lol
This is really helpful
It’s funny, because UCBVG says that Super Punch Out can be enjoyed by players who have little to no interest in boxing. Ironically, for me, playing these games is what got me into sports. For boxing in general, my dad and I would often play George Foreman’s K.O Boxing and then one day, I just happened to see a real fight on TV! Good times!
I’m surprised many people didn’t know Charles Martinet voiced Super Punch out I knew it was him when he says Horray!!!
Best Punch Out.
I didn’t even know about the 2-player mode! Man.. I got to get a game night with the old crew together!
Thx so much for this game!
The slowed-down Bear Hugger strat made me laugh
Some of he advanced strategies are honestly easier to learn than the basic , since they are more algorithmic.
Is this Little Mac's cousin - Medium Mac?
😆
Thanks
Beating a super punchout under an hour is some insane stuff
Remember owning this game back in the day. Pretty sure I got a few world records (for the time), but it was before the internet was prolific, and it wasn't until the mini-SNES came out and I saw some of the current records. I was like "oh hey, I probably did better than that by like, 13 seconds." I don't expect anyone to believe me. Even I might be talking complete bullshit, because my copy of the game is long erased and gone. Mostly, it just makes me chuckle to think that I might have been the best at something once, like, thirty years ago. lol
You snuck that Hawk Tuah reference in there in the Masked Muscle part I noticed
Talk about good timing to have a spit game lol
Finally this episode! Me and my dad could never beat Dragon Chan.
They should have given you all your Mike Tyson Punch Out wins at the beginning of the game for your KO record
But you’re not little Mac in Super Punch out
@@DadbotYes you are, just with a new design
Thank you!!!!
Been waiting for this one.
Another fantastic guide!
Even though I doubt I'll ever get good enough to really replicate the results, it's always entertaining to watch and get some pointers.
If these type of videos had been published and released on VHS tapes in the stores back in the day, kid me would have eaten that stuff up so much!
Its still mind-blowing to me that that hidden 2-player code was just hiding there in the code for nearly 3 decades without anyone knowing.
It would have made for a banger back in the 90s for sure :/
Also really crazy and sad how the drought between Punch-Out game have now surpassed the one between Super Punch Out and Punch Out Wii.
Its sad to see so many great franchises being so neglected for decades :/
If I may recommend another NES game I'dd love for you to cover down the road, I would suggest "Solar Jetman"
I've been playing through it again after it was recently added to the Switch's NES catalogue and have been having a blast but I feel the game is packed with hidden secrets and mechanics I'm not aware of and a comprehensive guide that really goes deep into all these little aspects would be so helpful.
It's been 15 years since Punch-Out!! Wii came out too.
