@@Lexicon-ff6or interesting. The C train comes every 10 minutes on weekdays, every 16 minutes on weekends. Both A trains come every 5-7 minutes on weekdays and 10 minutes on weekends. So it’s definitely not the norm. The C train is just incredibly infrequent lol.

As a 2 train rider, I can confirm my train just randomly goes to Eastchester and Lexington Avenue. It also does express for peak-direction for no reason. Even on Eastern Parkway. I can also confirm as a 5 train rider that my train randomly goes to Wakefield and 7th Avenue and will occasionally go local on Eastern Parkway just to head towards New Lots...

The A is the goat though unless you're specifically trying to get to Lefferts, Rockaway, or Ozone Park. While yes, the R, C and 42nd Street Shuttle all run entirely underground, there have been several times the the R and C have gone above ground. However, that was during rerouting.
