They are OK lines as long as you do not expect them to break close to their advertised break tests when used with fishing end tackles. I still have my W8 (80 lbs & 100 lbs) spooled up on my fresh water setup for fishing heavily weeded waters. Also use them as thread whippings when I need reinforcement for rod connections. So despite the fact that they practically break at half their advertised break tests, they still have their uses. 😁

I lure fish for Bass on the Hampshire coast; I have used W8 20lb for the last 2 years. Almost 300 Bass in that time to 67cm. W8 has never let me down in any way. Ever. It is amazing braid.

Hi John, I think that says more about your skills in fishing rather than the actual line. 😁🎣💪

    Hi😃
Fishing line cannot give a value higher than the binding strength of knots.😢
    Please, try Palomar Knot.😊

formerly, the lines break tests were made in the knot, like you did. But nowadays, all brands do the break tests in the middle of the line, without any knot, thats why you will never get the power that shows on the packges of the lines when you test in the knot. Try to do the same test with a popular brand line, you ll see that.

Hi Lucas. Thank you. And this is the reason why I do this type of test. Unfortunately, there are people that believe the advertised break test is what they are achieving (despite never testing the lines themselves) and just blame me for my bad knots. Having said that, the Daiwa Sensor Monofil that I have tested broke at more than its advertised break test - even with my "bad" knots, proving it is possible. So I am still hopeful that there are others like it.
