Considering her origins, I would have thought receiving dignity, respect and love would have trumped comfort and luxury? Perhaps that's why she took the decisions she did in the latter part of her life?

@@fredwerza3478 : I think the reason Ms Turner gave for turning down the role in the movie "The Colour Purple" said it all, "she'd already been there, already done that" and this history laid the foundations for her future decisions regarding who she would eventually choose to marry, where she would choose to live and what Nationality she decided to drop six months after becoming a dual Swiss Citizen. I am sure she would have been touched at the musical tribute the band of the Welsh Guards gave her outside Buckingham Palace by playing "The Best". This tribute was on direct orders of the King, for previous services rendered to his, " The Prince's Trust".

I saw the Oprah interview with Tina and Cher. What a humble lady Tina is (Cher as well). I like that Tina is her own woman, made her own way, got the hell out of a relationship that she didn't deserve and moved on with her life performing in front of so many of her fans. She deserves the right to enjoy her home, husband, and doing every day things. That must feel fantastic. Hats off to you Tina, you ARE simply the best.

I have watched her story on television my heart was full of
emotions. Tina showed the world through her religious beliefs and strong determination that anyone can move forward from a toxic past. She deserved everything she received in this life through her hard work. I’m glad she found the love again, remarried and lived her best life. Listening to her song What’s Love Got To Do With It I felt her pain and direction in life. I’m sure it helped many of people going through challenges and similar experiences that she went through. RIP Tina you will always be remembered to me for your strength, resilience, beauty and Queen of Rock and Roll. My condolences to your family. 💔🙏🏽❤️

For many years Tina had planned way ahead of her working years. She knew that one day she had to give it all up with the dancing and singing,and she wanted to be able to relax from all her labor. I am sure it took a lot of thought to surrender her citizenship in America and move away,but it appears that was the best thing she did for her well being. Had she not moved away she probably would have been forced to work in some capacity until her death,. I am so very happy that Tina stepped out on faith after being in such an abusive relationship with Ike Turner, and made things happen for herself. She doesn't owe anyone anything because she did the work herself, so enjoy it to the fullest. As a parent I know the feeling of disappointments/hurt when it comes to your children,but as a mother you have to pray for them,put them in God's hands and step aside because He doesn't need anyone's help to mend the brokenness when it comes to relationships. Au moment même de la naissance de ma fille à la maternité de Genève, le super tube " we d'ont need another hero" passait à la radio. Ce qui est incroyable c'est que j'ai entendu sans relâche Tina Turner pendant toute ma grossesse. Il est vrai que ma fille est une batante, une force intérieur de la Nature. Et parfois je me demande que Tina est et fût en quelque sors une marraine (dans l'invisible ) car le SON est un élément puissant.

I remember her comeback...it was brilliant, even bigger than her first career...at an age when most had long retired. She was GEORGEOUS..and gave brillant performances. So pleased her next marriage was good. Her first was abusive...and unworthy of her.

I am almost 65, and since I have been 5 years old, Tina has etched a space in my heart. When she performed with Ike, I was hooked. Her happier days were performing with her band from England and Roger Davies her manager and Roger is also Janet Jackson's manager. God bless her and thus do not judge her, she really rise above it.
