You could have had the bolt heads ground down. Any time you machine the flywheel. AS long as its still in spec, just have the bolt heads cut down the same amount.
If I remember correctly that option would leave me with not quite enough hex to get the socket on without stripping the corners off I would like to thank you for your opinion on this problem I had it is very interesting to me to see how others would solve the problem so again I would like to thank you

I don't know who resurfaced your old flywheel, but based on a visual comparison with the new one, they cut way to much material off! Those clutch springs should have never been close, unless you got the plate in backwards. ;) Did you ever get it running again??
Yes I did get it running The old flywheel was just plain worn out before I had it machined Flipping the plate over only made the problem worse and I edited this comment because I missed about half of your comment the first time I read it so sorry
I don’t have a 784 or an 84 series but I do know a couple guys that do have one I think they are pretty close to the same on the inside If I had more time space and money I’d love to get more of these awesome older tractors
You are doing an amazing job at fixing the old girl! Great detailing your fix. The IH 674 if a faithful tractor.
Thank you

Man, what a great video of your work, fantastic ! Have you had to work on the steering wheel orbital motor ?
No I have not had to do that yet but but it is next since I have to turn the wheel ten times per 1/4 mile - 1/2 km 😂
@@case85xtfan33 Hi, Thanks for your reply, my 674 is a great little tractor, made alot of money for me.

The problem I face with is that,I put knew clutch and rebuild pressure plate and skim the flywheel, but it doesn't release the Gears.help
@@VumileNoqube did you adjust the clutch pedal so it will separate the clutch?
That is the only thing I can think of
Can you tell me where is the air filter and the air intake on these tractors thanks.
Air filter is located under the panel in front of the steering wheel on top of the hood
@@case85xtfan33 ok thanks.

@@case85xtfan33 it will thanks I had a fair idea it was under the hood, I don't have the tractor with me at the moment to look. I have a 784.
