  • Hi, great that you are here!
Here is my next solo trip to Dublin, this time. I actually was there around the situation with Dublin stabbing and riots in O'Connell Street, but it didn't spoil my impression of the city at all.
In this video, I am sharing some Irish legends that I picked up during my Dublin city tours, trying traditional Irish breakfast and visiting places of interest in Ireland. You will see the Hungry tree, Merion Park, O'Connell Street and others.

The reason for the colourful doors is because when Queen victoria died, her husband, Prince Albert, demanded all doors were painted black in mourning.
She was known as "the famine queen" in Ireland for obvious historical reasons, so of course everyone did the exact opposite and painted them in the most bright and vibrant colours possible. 😂

In 1858 , Charles Dickens came to Dublin, and did readings 📚 of his works including A Christmas Carol 🎄, at the Rotunda Rooms at the top of O' Connell Street 🌨🎄🎁

The reason for the colorful doors of Dublin and the country. Queen Victoria,( aka the famine Queen ) when grieving her husband's death, ordered all doors to be painted in black. In an act of rebellion against the English Rule, the Irish then started to paint their doors bright colors.
