Autism spectrum, also known as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or autism spectrum condition (ASC), is a range of neurodevelopmental disorders that includes autism and related conditions. Individuals on the spectrum present with two types of symptoms: problems in social communication and social interaction, and restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests or activities. Symptoms are typically recognized between one and two years of age.Long term issues may include difficulties in creating and keeping relationships, maintaining a job, and performing daily tasks.
The cause of autism spectrum is uncertain.Risk factors include having an older parent, a family history of the condition, and certain genetic conditions.Diagnosis is based on symptoms. The DSM-5 redefined the autism spectrum disorders to encompass the previous diagnoses of autism, Asperger syndrome, pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS), and childhood disintegrative disorder.

My 3 year son was diagnosed with autism. It took him 19 months to walk, and he fell behind on many of the other mile stones by months. It's impossible to get him to try new foods, he's fixated with open and closing things, turning off lights, wanting to turn on the car, and it's literally a battle if you break any habit he has picked up. He gets angry and head butts you or throws tantrums literally anywhere including the middle of the parking lot. He has almost no fear and a high pain tolerance. He'll randomly key up on one child in a group and attack them for no reason while leaving everyone else alone. He has a very good memory and can count like a champ. He has a small group of people he really loves and ignores everyone else. He is the sweetest happiest kid I know otherwise, and it cancels out all the other hardships we deal with together. We continue to work with him and love him conditionally.

There are a few problems I have with the video like saying autism starts in early childhood. You are born with autism and signs are often shown in childhood but can change over time. Also 1:04 why are men shown sad here?! 3:00 EVERYONE can have aggresive behavior for one reason or another, I would have gone into more detail with that one. Also reducing symptoms isn't always the right way but making the person aware of them e.g. let the person know that you dont look at their face during conversations instead of forcing them to look at them. Therapy also has to be researched properly as it can backfire since its way to easy to become someone that is supposed to treat autism. I am no expert just a 20 year old with autism currently going to college.
edit: I also would have mentioned that autism can have positives like people with it being really good in a certain field they are interested in.

You are correct, there is a lot of prejudice against people with this kind of affliction, though few would dare to admit how much. Also the diagnosis itself can be a sort of curse upon the individual to whom it is applied, limiting his/her own perception of what can be done with his/her life.
I do not believe that God regards people as 'autistic' or 'normal'. Mostly the distinction is a very foolish one, and the scientific basis for it is weaker than many imagine. You see, what they call ASD is actually a RANGE of conditions, not necessarily related. It is NOT a single condition at all. Often doctors and administrators use the term because they don't know what is wrong, but have to say something which sounds plausible and CULTURALLY ACCEPTABLE. It's a kind of fad. I hope we outgrow it, but bad old ideas tend to stick3 around for a long time.
You shouldn't seek your identity in 'being autistic'. That would be so self-limiting.
You are a human person, not a psychiatric condition.
God has the same ambition for all, as it says in the following passage:
(1st Timothy 2:4-5) '[God] desires all men [humans] to come to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.'

i'm 18 and have suspected i'm autistic for a couple years now. my parents are in complete denial of it and every time i bring it up they attempt to shun me away from the idea. i've been going to therapy since october, trying to figure out what's up with me and my therapist agrees she thinks i may be autitsic. i've been trying to get my mom to take me to get tested but she won't listen to me. i've explained all the traits of autism i relate to and she just laughs at me. ever since i told her i don't like when people touch me she makes a point to do it because she thinks it's funny watching me pull away from her. it's agonizing. i don't know when i will get a job because i struggle so much socially, but i can't wait till i do and am eventually able to move out. i hate living here, these people are not my family. they do not listen to me and they do not respect me.

I haven't been diagnosed with autism yet, but I can tell from this vid that I'm autistic. But it makes me sad bc my older brother always making fun of me when I'm talking to my mom, bc I'm really slow. Before my mom had me, she prayed that she would have patience. And then, I'm guessing, God was like, "ok, I'm gonna give her a baby who is really slow at talking and won't talk at all till she is 4 years old. That will teach her to be patient!" So that is, of course, what happened. But my brother still makes fun of me. One time I was telling a story to my mom, that should have been told in 10 mins, and took me 30 mins. I was telling the story, and then my brother was with me (bc we were in the car) and he said, "CaN yOu sPeEd uP?!" And my mom said, "Be quiet! She can't help it!" And my brother said, "Is iT bC sHe hAs aUtIsM???" And my mom said, "Well..." then she mumbles to him, "kinda..." and I get sad. So if you got this far, God bless you and I'll pray for you out of your troubles, and plz pray for me.

I have this disorder in my brain, my Genetics were the reason why I got this disorder in my brain, a lot of people got diagnosed with Autism, Verbal and Non Verbal. I’m a Verbal Autism Male figure that is allowed to speak, sometimes I have trouble communicating with others around. I act very shy. I’m sensitive, I get stress out by violent stuff, messing up things, yelling and fighting, criticism issues, and I wear my headphones a lot in my life. Autistic people have been abused and neglected so much that nobody even cared about them from that beginning. Because some people didn’t care about what they were going through in the past at all. And that’s why they’re acting up so much.

My 5yr old son has recently been diagnosed with learning difficulties and developmental delay (they do not know if he has ASD or ADHD) he is with me most of the time so he has a connection with me that is very strong. He will communicate with me very well. He seems to jmhave a fixations with technology. He will play with toys now and again but he will often go to the television or phone. He gets frustrated quickly. He doesn't have 100% have good communication with other people or follow instructions from others like his teachers. I've known for sometime the he struggles to communicate with others more then he does myself. For example...I'll give him an instruction like taking off his shoes...he will do it but 5-10mins later..

It has nothing to do with your gender/sex . More research has been done on males with ASD, so it’s much easier to get diagnosed as a male. There are social differences (such as girls being expected to mask and behave themselves) that make getting a diagnosis as AFAB way harder than an AMAB.

A lot of shy and insecure people don't look in the eyes a lot. It requires practice. Some don't have the willpower to watch directly in the eyes or just watch for 2 seconds and then stare away. I have no autism and i have no problem share a conversation and make a good eye contact, but we all have bad days and when i'm not feeling my best i tend to look in the eyes but turn away every 2-3 seconds. I don't think this eye contact thing has anything to do with autism, most autistic kids don't literally ever look into the eyes or just stare 5% in the eyes and 95% stare something else i guess. Also many people have social anxiety, shyness ( especially cute girls i have met ) and aren't very confident. It's normal. What is not normal when you're a fucking weirdo creep dude who has no boundaries of others, is basically an idiotic robot who has literally no social skills at all who has problems with learning and everything else.

If you’re seeing Autism symptoms in your baby or toddler try cutting out gluten from their diet. Look for wheat and barley in lists ingredients and avoid it.
At around the age of 1 my beautiful son started withdrawing from the world. He became obsessed with pacing, lining up cars and spinning their wheels. His eye contact was very poor and he was lost inside his own head. At times it was as if my wife and I didn’t exists to him.
I was naturally heartbroken and frightened for his future. I didn’t understand what had happened to him and I didn’t know what to do.
I spoke to medical professionals and, although they tried, they weren’t much help. He was assessed and scored very high for Autism.
I didn’t sleep for about three days and was constantly reading about ways I could help him. After much research I found a study on gluten and the strange effects it can have on children.
I promptly cut gluten from his diet and the change in him was astonishing. I got my happy little boy back within a few days and after a few weeks he was completely free from the symptoms of Autism.
I’m not suggesting that this will work for everyone but it genuinely did for us. If it stops one family from going through the hell that we went through I will be delighted. If it works for your little one please get the word out.

At this point I don’t know what I have, is it autism? a personality disorder? am I just too different?
I struggle with communicating skills, with overstimulation, being too emotional/not feeling emotions when I’m supposed to. I’m just always busy thinking in my own world, I forget about life and am stuck. I get left out a lot in groups because of this, I just stare blankly at nothing. For these reasons I always am alone, I’d rather be alone than feel nothing at all with others. For what I know I’ve been like this ever since I was a little kid.
My brother who is one year younger than me is diagnosed with autism. I don’t know which level but Ik it’s not high functioning more of in the middle-mild asd. I feel more connected to him than anyone else in my family, we are just both always fixated on the same video games.
I’m scared to tell my mom about my suspicions on having autism, i might not have it but I’m sure I’m neurodivergent. Man I just feel it, I don’t fit in. society is not built for me. She knows I struggle with depression and anxiety, and I’ve gone to therapy for it but I didn’t get diagnosed/prescribed medicine because she doesn’t want me to have a disorder. The thing about my mom is that she won’t help me by getting me the help I need, she thinks her religion and praying will cure me. I’m just in a really complicated situation, I’m old enough to understand things and fix them but not old enough to help myself mentally and physically.
What makes it worse is me being a 17 and girl, makes me feel like I’m not being taken seriously.
I just don’t know what I have. I don’t feel normal although I can do normal things. I drive, i go to school, I get straight A’s, i even learned to lua code I just can’t communicate. I lack social skills, I lack intimacy, and physical touch, I lack empathy. Just being at school and hiding who I am is tiring. I’m tired of being told I’m weird and dumb when I talk. I sometimes go mute, and people tell me to talk but I just can’t.

That's impossible, because it is immense. You can not like social situations, you can find lights insanely bright. You can not be able to tune out a single sound so everything is deafening. You can not be able to speak properly, or you can be ridiculously smart. You can get overly anxious, or really angry. Sometimes too many things build up and you reach a meltdown. It ranges massively and is different for everyone. Some people who have it are almost completely normal, and you may never think they have it.

Like when she screams he 2 year old brother screams, if she jumps on the bed then he does too but her mom and my grandma blame it on HER. No don't worry its not abusive. But whenever my grandmas on the phone with my cousins mom and she does something wrong or by accident they just scold her. Sometimes she has a fun side like when she was 6 she came to our house from Australia and she made lots of jokes for a while with my parents and me. My mom is the only one who knows how to deal with a kid like her calmly. Last time whe she came she was 6 and I was 8, I wasn't giving her a chocolate bar making an excuse that it's covered in mud. She believed it but then started to fight over it. She suddenly grabbed a pair of siccors and was about to cut me but my maid quickly grabbed it. And the she scratched my hand and I could literally see the layer under m skin. Then it started bleeding. Then my mom came and my cousin went over to the sofa and sat down as she did something wrong. While my mom was adding bandaid there was a toy house behind my cousins back on the sofa and she hit herself with it saying "look I got hurt too!" Well thanks to anyone who read this 😊. I'm 10 now

Look up the 7 steps to instructional control. It gives some good guidance about how to help your child to follow your lead. Structure and schedules are helpful. You can find a lot of free resources for simple schedules online.
It may also be helpful to look into a developmental child care center that is better able to meet your child's needs. Also, if you haven't already, at the age of 4, your child should have access to early childhood special education (obviously hard in the summer), but this would probably be beneficial.

everyone's situation is different, but it is common that autism can be improve throughout your son's life . It also depends if the person as severe autism of less severe autism. You just have to be the best parent that you could be for your son and have lots of patience. I'm sure it's hard on him too. It's not his fault that he has autism. Please continue to love and support your son. He needs you the most.. This is coming from a person who has PDD-NOS.

Hmmm my 3 year old grandson has no problem socializing .. he even likes playing peek a boo when we FaceTime , he smiles and laughs and pays attention . He also understands when I ask him for a kiss, he kisses the phone screen ... BUT he doesn’t know how to point and when we point he doesn’t look ... he doesn’t talk yet but his speech therapy recently ended .. I guess covid is more important than my grandson , anyway .. he makes eye contact and tries to sing to sing along with his shows that he watches... he doesn’t do any stimming , maybe he’s on the mild side ... he’s being evaluated this Saturday through zoom yup zoom what a joke ....

I was diagnosed with autism at a late stage about 2-3 years old and all that didn’t help with my primary school as they didn’t care about me at all like I could be doing my own thing and I would get hit on the ground by a kid and they wouldn’t do anything but as soon as I retaliate back they come after me like a 5 star wanted level in gta and it also doesn’t hope the headteacher wanted me to go to a special school and constantly tried to get me expelled and out of all the teachers like 50 ish probbaly less only 5-6 acctualy liked me and wanted to understand and help me now I wanted to kill myself by the time I was in year 6 as that’s when things started to get worse I barely finished my SATS I was put on a separate desk away from everyone the desk was tiny and the chair was big I got bullied about 1-2 times a week and the headteacher told my mum I am a failure and out of all that all I got from primary was the trauma of my past and a mental scar in my brain almost killing my self 1-2 years ago with my mates (I’m 15 now) as all they kept doing to me was calling me autistic and just generally being nasty and it doesn’t help that hardly anyone listens to me anymore my friend I knew since primary doesn’t talk to me anymore I sit my lunches alone on the floor outside and break is the same thing but next to some familiar faces and I don’t even care at this point if they dont want me there I just at least want one time every 24 hours to speak to someone or just be near someone
