I started my ASMR channel in October 2021, and I have to say the information you gave in this video IS SO TRUE!! I found myself putting it off for months! I don't know if I was lazy or nervous or both but one day I got off my butt and recorded with my cell phone and things around the house, and that first video is by FAR my most popular!
Everyone, if you are considering starting a channel, DON'T WAIT!
If there are any other ASMR channels watching Jessica's video I'd love to check out your channels!
Thank you for the constant quality videos Jessica I watch most of them and I credit you for my channels early successes!

Awesome video, Jessica! Love how you emphasize on building a community. That's what keeps people coming back. Boost app social has been a huge help for me in this, especially with hashtags and captions.

I watched your videos and they were so incredibly helpful!! I am super excited for this journey and thank you for making these videos!

I really appreciated your point about not putting all your eggs in the ads basket. I'm still a ways off from being monetized, but already trying to think of ways I can diversify things and what services I might have to offer others. I'm in the lifestyle niche - cooking, cleaning, low-carb, budget hacks and budget friendly meals. Thank you to anyone that checks me out. 😊

*5 things to quit right now:*
    *1. Overthinking*
*2. Trying to make everyone happy*

    *4. Worrying*
    *5. Doubting yourself*

The most important thing is getting started and doing the thing! I recently started a channel explaining SEO and online marketing. But I also just love helping small business owners be successful. So I also talk about virtual assistants and my various business adventures.

Side note. From experience - For anyone who does think you need to spend a lot of money to start a channel and you'll just grow and make thousands. NOOOOOO I spent a good $5,000 on equipment and I've made a whopping $70 in A YEAR FROM TH-cam. LISTEN start with what you have. and don't expect instant growth and income. 🖤

Loved this! I started my TH-cam channel May 2020 when my storefront business was mandated to be closed during Covid. I needed something to do to release my creativity and keep me busy. I love creating videos and although I still run my storefront business, I would love to be a content creator full time. I love that my videos will be around long after I’m gone for my kids, grandkids and great grandchildren to enjoy. History in the making one video at a time.

Sassy here! I love making DIY videos and all things creative with seasonal home decor and more on a budget. I do “haul” videos about what I buy and where for my DIY projects and how and when to get the best deal!!! I love Jessica’s advice, I know I’m going to get where I want to be with the right tools and motivation!

I didn’t want to start a channel. Got thrown in to it by being blamed and accused of something I was not part of. Was just a fan of a show. But since I received so much hate, I have also gained lots of supporters and a community. Now concentrating on spreading awareness about adult online harassment and cyber bullying. Still trying to find my niche.

I started my channel at the begginning of 2021... because I just love all the process that involves making videos on TH-cam. I follow many of these tips, I'm trying to make a strong community even if is small, I'm just happy that there are people that come back to my videos and spend the time to comment.

I started my channel last year, as a way of staying in front of my customers if something ever happened to fb and insta (it happens! Groups, profiles, pages, they get shut down!) I was posting approx weekly, but I was throwing a lot of spaghetti against a very large wall!! I stopped unintentionally because life got busy, and I wasn't really getting anywhere with my channel anyway. Thank goodness I have found you though, Jessica! I now know that I need to throw less spaghetti at a smaller wall! Niche down. And do my research. Thank you thank you! I'm toddling off to watch more of your videos 😁

The worst thing I have done with my channel is compare myself to others. It caused me to overthink my content and delete from cringing because I felt my content didn’t have same quality as my fav influencers, but now I will never be able to see my growth. I decided to just upload today & just keep going, & realize that I cannot please everyone. No more overthinking the process!

2021 has been a great year for me so far thankfully - truly blessed 🙌
    2020 was awful. Haha
    But 2021 I've lost almost 50lbs and started my TH-cam channel 👌🖤
I'm just putting videos out and testing a bit. Enjoying filming and editing.
Hopefully I can start to implement these tips soon!

Great advice even going into my second year and inching my way toward that 4k watch hours! I'm finding myself increasingly grateful these days that I'm not necessarily trying to make this my job (take so much pressure off!), and that my channel is about a hobby I do anyway and now just turn a camera on and make fun videos about. If it stops being fun, I will stop!

Hey Jessica, I just found your channel and I'm so happy I did. About a year ago I decided that I was going to start a channel on TH-cam about my backpacking, hiking, camping and travel adventures. So I bought the iPhone 12, a gopro 9, a drone, ND filters for all 3 of them, a few tripods some small some big, some microphones and different camera holders, a high-end laptop to edit on and so far I haven't done squat with it except learn how to do it all, but then not do it. I have been too afraid to do it and have it come out crappy, so I him and haw saying I'm going to do it, but I keep putting it off. After seeing this video I'm going to just go out tomorrow and start filming. If it comes out bad I will just chock it up to being a learning lesson and my next one will be better. But at least I will be putting all the time and money I have spent into what it was intended for. You are infectious to watch and I know I will be binge watching your videos to help keep me motivated. Thank you and I'll let you know when I post something that comes out good enough to post.

yesss. creating videos for you too 💜 you're one of the few youtubers that mentions this because all the other vids always talk about making vids for your audience. and then i basically got analysis paralysis all of last year cus i couldnt think of videos for my audience cus it's already been done. but then that's why started a vlog channel because it's for me. but yes, i need to balance it by making videos for gaming channel too. thank you for bringing this up cus now i feel a bit more valid.

I’m definitely in the testing phase and I could not agree more. Give yourself permission to explore and most importantly have fun with it, enjoy the process! I’m starting to feel where my comfort zone lies as far as niching goes, and that takes times. There’s no way I’d have figured it out other than trial and error… For me that’s the best strategy. And I find the community feedback extremely rewarding… Intimidating at first, but that’s the novelty speaking I think 😅

Thank you for this great, inspiring video, Jessica! I started posting vids not too long ago, just before Christmas and doing it all before I'm ready!! I def don't have all the fancy tools, but have a passion for teaching and helping others in my current niche! I enjoyed your valuable insights!! And YES to being different!

I've been watching your videos for a little while now and I definitely just subscribed because of your Rook reference! Hahaha. I don't usually subscribe to anyone but a public Rook reference deserves it.

Jessica thank you so much!!! I've learned so much from your channel!! I'm a watercolor painter and teacher and I have been loving this- trying to build community & have fun with this! You've been way more helpful than anything else I've seen out there!! I still have tons of room for improvement, (consistency for one thing!). So I keep watching!!! Cheers & thank you!!! ( and yeah, my family on my dad's side loves playing Rook!!!! - must be a southern thing!! ) (thanks for the giggle!!).

I’m so glad I have landed on your channel! I love another fellow southern girl! 😘 Your videos have been amazing. I just started my channel a few months ago, it’s a motherhood homemaking style channel and I am loving it so much, but do not know a thing about TH-cam or what I am doing 🤣 So I need all the tips I can get. Thank you for your content. ❤️
