    Big tip is to keep the exposure between opening and closing the camera app. Keep it at -.3 or -.5 and bring it up in post. Colors will appear naturally more saturated and it saves your highlights without looking like you set a highlights slider to -100.

      Scene detection turned off for low light long exposure (astrophotography), is crucial; further, you have up to a 20 second handheld exposure; but if you mount your iPhone 12 Pro Max to a tripod or lean it against a stable object, you will get a 30 second exposure. This is significant if you are familiar with astrophotography.

    I know this is old but I have a question. I don't understand why you don't like Live Photos? It takes the same photo than normal but only difference is you get sound a small video clip either side. It's so amazing to take photos of my dog and hear here breathing. Or take a photo of my neices and can hear them giggling away.

    With auto FPS I thought it’s stuttering that is more an issue. As turning it off reduces noise appearance sure, but because it’s reducing the amount of light captured per frame = darker video

    • @OT4Tech
      @OT4Tech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep you’re correct about this however since the majority of people are not panning like crazy when shooting video at night and generally speaking it’s more of a static shot the lower shutter speed should be okay for 95% of scenarios.

    • @OT4Tech

      Yep, but it’s easier for me at least to remember to hold down the volume up button since swiping the wrong way locks video recording. Not to mention you’re talking about 1 action vs 2 actions and reducing the amount of steps could ensure whether you get the photo you want or not.

I usually like taking HDR photos so I wanted to find out if that feature is still available on iPhone 12 and hopefully 13. You explained the working of the iPhone 12 very well. From what I’ve heard iPhone 13 pro or pro Max is still only going to have 2.5 x telephoto which is quite pathetic compared to the Samsung s20. Do you have any idea why iPhone does not plan to improve the telephoto capabilities?

    Jonathan, brother, I used my 12 Pro Max last night to record Instagram Stories with the front camera. Inside a well lit room, with solid white wall/closet behind me, phone was vertical and mounted on a tripod. Throughout the whole video, you can see how the color of the background (wall/closet) changes from “white to yellowish” back and forth, repeatedly. Why is that happening? Does it mean that there’s a hardware or software problem with my phone? Thank you Jon or anyone who knows about these topics.
