I’m always amazed at how people are such jerks to truck drivers on the road, I’m sorry for what you all have to put up with. Keep up that positive attitude, and know not everyone is like that, I always let over trucks/let them merge, and give a wide birth if I see they will be turning or whatnot. Thanks for doing a huge part in keeping this country moving forward, you all are so appreciated!
Good morning Dave I wanted to thank you for your videos my husband was a truck driver until he got sick he had cancer and now he's paralyzed Thank God he is cancer free but he can't drive anymore He loves your videos and watches them everyday please keep posting those videos you will never know how happy you make my husband each day

Here's a tip for you Dave, in case this happens again.
If you ever run into someone who won't backup for you to turn, and they're in your way. Just start eating your lunch, or just sit there. They'll eventually get the idea, and back up.
As a CDL driver myself, i've done exactly this (minus the lunch). They usually move when I go on the air horn. - Local driver to Jersey City, NYC and surrounding area. idiots everywhere lol

I've delivered to Alcor before.. it was a pain in the ass even doing it in a Cargo van lol.. but the people there were pretty cool, especially the old guy that I'm pretty sure owns it- that place has been around forever. Next time you go to Miamisburg, especially during the day(after 10ish) you need to stop at Hamburger Wagon and get some burgers and a bag of chips.. They're right up the street from Alcor- If you'd have gone left on Central/725 instead of right, it's right there

Hey Dave I live near miamisburg. The mound park you went by used to do research on nuclear triggers for bombs during the Cold War. At one point there were more PHDs here than anywhere else. Miamisburg was also on the top 5 list for Nuke strikes. Cool huh?

Do it, trust me its worth it, but at first driving those big truck can be intimidating. But once you get used to it, its very fun.

Many truckers that deliver to the furniture store where I work obviously don't check Google Earth before they arrive. They simply follow their GPS up the middle drive in the parking lot and either get stuck in a planter or even hit the building overhang.

I had a Trader Joe's grocery delivery gig that was pallet jack-forklift unload. Favorite pallets were the flowers, they were light. The dairy and meat pallets... oh, not so much.

Portland Oregon is always completely backed up during rush hr times at times u could be at a stand still 4 at least 30-45 mins sometimes maybe an hr long thank God I don't live in Portland Oregon I live in grants pass Oregon more down south almost 2 the Cali border 58 miles north of the Cali border

Your vids just recently started popping up. Your idea of recording how the trucker mind should and does, analyze every situation on the road, and going to and from customers, i find really smart. Because we fellow truckers can all relate. I personally do and think everything you do, when it comes to wanting to be in the know, when going to locations youve never been before, that are questionable on the satalite. And your outloud thoughts when negotiating idiot four wheelers in traffic. Youve brought to lite what we all think and do on the daily. You just have a way more patient and funny way of dealing with it all, wich is great. We like it. Good for you dude.

some smaller roads in australia have weight limits. if there's no alternative road, like you're delivering to a building on that road, you can use it.

I always stay in the middle lane because of most 4 wheelers don't know how to merge then I will get in my acquired lane about 1.5 miles or sooner depending on traffic and where you are
Just remember Dave as professionals sometimes we hit the curbs just go very,very slowly 👊🏾
Most places have the traffic light sensors behind the line- when they stop past it the sensor won't trip, plus many times they can't even see the light anymore.

That's a limit line; I agree bmw's tend to race to beat you or pass. Don't forget Cadillac's stay in your lane Cadillac yup. Just because you have a nice car doesn't necessarily make you a good driver. I used to drive my boss to the airport but they made it tight timewise & I'd have to scooby to get there on time they seemed to know I drove well because they'd just sit back and relax trust me to get them there on time & to know road conditions. I used to drive ambulance so I could see thing & drive defensively but a big old semi & long trailer that's a whole another animal Dave.

We had to do the forklift lifting the pallet Jack on the truck for the driver at my job before cause the truck was to high for our dock even when he let the air out
Even at Walmart there are pallet jack/forklift unloads.

We unload the trucks at work like that we drag the first 2 out then pallet jack the rest to the end
If you're ever in central Ohio I'm here watching out for you and trying not to make things difficult for you truck drivers. I don't drive a Mercedes though so you still have to watch out for them.
i do uber pickups out of a fedex fasidly in riverside and car do that that same thing where they are way pass the line and trucks have a hard time trying to turn on the a one lane road like that

Not a truck driver but I have seen truckers do some stupid stuff also. One intersection that I have to use on a regular basis is on a 2 lane road with left turn lanes going all directions. On several occasions I have been in the northbound left turn lane and a tractor trailer rig tries (tries but does not succeed) to make a left turn on the westbound and go south on the street that I'm going north on. Even though I have never driven a truck it is easy to see that he ain't gonna make it, no way no how. There are several cars behind me in the left turn lane and a few in the go-thru lane. Can't back up and truck can;t make it. The driver was young and probably following GPS. There have been a lot of complaints about the intersection but not much can be done due to private property and the narrowness of the road. Trucks making a right turn to go south on the same road have damaged the power pole several time so the city had to place a large (really large) piece of pipe filled with concrete to fend off the trucks and protect the pole. You guys need a way to have an early warning system for such things. In this instance there is easy access without going thru that bad intersection. It is an area where there is a lot of heavy truck traffic and most avoid it.
Dave your absolutely right in fact it's 6:30pm here in CA I had a full day helping 2 churches with playing drums on the way home I'm at a red light by a freeway here and there's a sheriff sitting there across the way some like audi or Mercedes speed past the guy was on his phone too (he looked at me all angry like: what's your problem I SMH and pointed at him to look behind I read his lips he's like shit 😂 😂😂 me: yea that's 2 tickets one for speeding past that officer and one for being on your phone while driving, just like the lady who stared you down about the line yea people are stupid 🙄
I live in that town where you are going I know that place and that is where you unload between the buildings

Funny you mentioned that Pilot! I was there last month and ate at that Waffle House too. Saw an Online but it wasn't you. Parking was tight!! I ended up chewing up my tires on a spread axle trailer and everyone had several spotters trying to back there!
I used to go to Cincy and Kings Island all the time when I was stationed at Wright-Patt...and I forgot about touch down Jesus on the side of I-75
No Dave, it’s not his cruise control. Unlike a semi truck with bunch of weight, a regular vehicle when it goes uphill on cruise control it maintains the speed. So yeah in that person’s case they probably had it set to a slow speed anyway.
Like to follow along. Ohio's state road numberings are a mess, meandering & combining & splitting this way & that. Finally figured it out. Found the intersection where the left turn stop line is way back & where the Mercedes was almost in the way. The satellite view markings had the Mercedes in the right, and even showed a truck having to do that same turn & going over the left turn lane to do it!
The road you were on between Franklin and Miamisburg must be one of the oldest through highways in the area, maybe a main road from the horse traction era. The name of the road, "Dayton-Cincinnati Pike" is surely a clue. I like roads like that... if I'm not in a hurry and not in a big truck!
More evidence - pretty sure that's an ~1890-1950-ish electric trolley right-of-way just to the right/east of that road. Can really see it with the extended underpass of that RR bridge and the dual lines of power poles & graded lane you passed by after that bridge. Our electric utilities often got started as power generators for electric trolley lines.

I was at a railroad crossing the sign said stop back here when traffic light is red. So I did and I got honked at for not moving up across the tracks. So then 3 people drive past me and then the crossing gates go down and lights start to flash and a god dam train starts to come so the people that passed me freak out and gun it through a red light before they get trapped between the crossing gates. I was like thats why that signs there.
The best is when they have to back up and give you a nasty look lol those white line violators

I had a Flatbed driver passed that Line. I turned and made it, but trailer did tag a sign at the light. Safety called me on it. Said I should have not turned. But nothing about the other driver butt up in the intersection.
True that next time make them back up or nudge them lol or don't nudge them I was just kidding about u nudging them lol

As a military soldier. I was driving a Military Cargo Truck with 10 soldiers in back. people were at the white line not moving I rolled the back window down revealing 10 soldiers with loaded automatics. 3 cars backed off the line and i got through🤣🤣
I had a car full of gangstas stop me on the middle of i75 Atlanta and flash guns at me I was switching lanes they were 200 yards behind me speeding like crazy not paying attention...they almost ran into me at the last second they woke up and snatched the wheel almost loosing control....they pulled up on front of me and hit the breaks like it was my fault.we came to a dead stop on 75...they are lucky they stayed in their car I had something for them that was long and black..lol..they shouldn't have been doing 120 in a 65mph zone

oh dave me and you are different when it comes to those line jumpers, you point and drive. i on purpose stop right in front of them to where i cant get by and tap the air horn. love seeing them get mad at me for their mistakes. Never gets old, i think its a good stress reliver

I got to sit in a tank washout spot in Cincinnati for like 12 hours till my load time and got rejected because 1 little cable lock wasn't changed for food grade glycerine. I had no clue what was around. Wasn't roaming around with the truck. Someone here might have seen the purty black Pete with shiney tank sitting in back.

I’m not a truck driver but do have a small box just under 26,000lbs that I use to get tools and materials to the jobsite for my guys and sometimes I need to take truck routes. What GPS do you use/recommend that knows truck routes?
