It's extra frustrating and sad when you think about the events that led to this as well. Barows building a dam which caused Lordlake to rise up and destroy it, and subsequently Barows planting his own men within the protesting Lordlake people to raid the East Palace and steal the Dawn Rune. And then the Godwins politically forcing Arshtat to wield the Sun Rune in order to punish Lordlake. And finally, because the Dawn Rune was missing, the power of the Sun Rune could not be held back from corrupting Arshtat's mind. All the problems that arose came from the Barows and Godwins.
Oh damn.. This scene made me cry... A lot of people say Suikoden 2 was better, but for me, at least, this was definitely the best of the entire series...
Now, I'm not an overly emotional person when it comes to movies, video games and so on. Mostly it comes out when I'm tired. Now I've played plenty of RPGs, and though I won't say it's the best, since there are a lot of good ones out there, when it comes down to character development and emotionally powerful execution Suikoden is second to none. Between this scene, the bad ending after Lyon died (it was my first Suikoden title), and numerous others... I shed quite a few tears. Quite a few times.
Well Ferid told Georg to kill the Queen if Ferid cannot do it. Well as you all can see the sun rune took control over Arshtat's soul. If Georg didn't kill her, she had turned Falena into scorched earth... Poor Ferid..
Aha thank you for sharing, she is super talented, this is irrelevant to suikoden but didya know that Raine in Tales of Symphonia voiced Ashe from FFXII, that was a total suprise to me

Admittedly, Suikoden V was one of the few video games that made me emotional. And this, along with the scene where Miakis and Lymsleia are reunited (before Sialeeds' kidnapping of her) were some real tearjerkers...
I just want to comment on the music on this scene... Absolutely fantastic... it just does a magnificent job of drawing out your emotions... I guess the suikoden series is known for the great music that sits each scene well... mad props for the musical director...
For me... Suikoden is the best rpg series ever, in terms of its rich and vibrant story filled coupled with unparalleled character development in any game I've seen so far... Can't wait for Suikoden VI... but wouldn't want to rush it though... I don't mind them taking their time... I want the story to be as well thought out as the fifth one... I just finished the game and I am absolutely speechless... truly a masterpiece...

I would like to know more about if this rumor is just fan based conjecture or not or if its something hinted out from the series creators/writers.

Note: the rune leave Arshtat and goes to the seal room, but after it apparently is coming from the sky and not from the castle.
