When I first watched this performance of KZ, there was no interpretation, no subtitles, but the amount of pain that I felt that time and watching this again right now, are equal. As a singer myself, professionals literally sit down with the song, getting the meaning of it, listen to how it been sang and we sing it according to the given lyrics. A singer like KZ who went through a difficult phase of life back in Manila is an additional bonus to the song, the experiences that justify the song, the reason why there's a beautiful emotions given to the piece. Filipinos have an innate potential in learning languages, due to the fact that the Philippines is one of the most linguistically diverse countries in the world. Aside from that, the Chinese language DOES influence the Filipino or Tagalog language even to this day, not just Spanish or English. We may not have been colonized by China unlike Spain or the US but we have been interacting with them way longer. Do take note that Manila has the oldest Chinatown in the world.

I watched her interview regarding to her mandarin piece performance that she was eagerly want to perform that song the rehearsal took quite times to learn for like two weeks time and she nailed it
