Vampires may no longer be used as much in Marvel, but Dracula still seems to be doing well for himself. Dracula has been making frequent appearances in modern Marvel comics like Old Man Logan and Deadpool (Dracula now being married to Deadpool's ex-wife, Shiklah). I'm glad that Marvel is still using Dracula because he is definitely one of the more underrated villains in the universe. Possibly the weirdest/coolest thing about Dracula is that all of the Draculas of the Marvel multiverse meet together in Limbo to have meetings as the "Council of Cross-time Draculas". (I haven't actually seen this council do anything other than spy on other universes that might get taken over by vampires, but still, the fact that this exists is kinda crazy)
Wait when did Deadpool and Shiklah get divorced :O This was recently? They were still married when that one cult tried to summon her by using Deadpool but only managed to summon Spider-Man instead, right? I don't really read Deadpool's solo's very actively though so it's really no wonder I miss these things *sigh*
Yeah, it happened in a recent story arc called "Deadpool: Til Death Do Us..." which was going on in all Deadpool related series. Since Gerry Duggan is no longer righting the stories and Marvel is doing the Legacy thing, Marvel is getting rid of the recent stuff that happened to Deadpool so that the new writer isn't dragged down by his continuity. That's why we're getting Despicable Deadpool next.
There are a few groups like the Dracula Cross Time group. There is the Council of Kangs (Kang the Conqueror) A bunch of Reed Richards and Dr Doom's also have get togethers. Apparently Doom likes to watch the accident at college that drove him to becoming Doom. They consider that the pivital moment of his life.
He would if a vampire was fast enough to catch him. Let change that. The easiest way to catch him would be to turn Wanda into a vampire she could get him. He is too trusting of her and would let her get close.
Vampires do not sweat but they have an enzyme that they produce, which means that when wearing the same clothes they become impregnated and have the same effect as vamors. So tektnically, it is not directly the vampires that are invisible.
Blade would be the best reintroduction of vampires to the Marvel universe. The threat would have to be Dracula and his origin story would have to be told in flash backs which could parallel current events. The height and fear of this enemy would have to be scary, lethal and lasting. No magic potions....no just yet🤣
+Storm King It's been done. Many times. Too many times. If they were to seriously reintroduce Vampires into the Marvel Universe, to give the story any kind of originality, it would be _without_ Dracula. Also there is no need to re-tell either Blade or Dracula's back story, nor bastardise their origins by making them current. Dracula doesn't need introduction and Blade's origin is not era-specific.
pious83 The threat has to real and Dracula is supposed to be the worst of them all, the big bad. At least Marvel has the time to flesh out a proper story since they own the rights.
+Storm King From his last most recent appearance in Deadpool, Modern Dracula has not been treated well, either as a menacing or credible threat. Check out the Dracula vs. Apocalypse mini series for a better version of him. However, like I said, they have told just about every kind of Dracula story, short of making him a Cyborg... Also I'd imagine the Universal Monsters are a bit of a grey area when it comes to Live Action rights. Considering Marvel has _a_ Dracula, several werewolves (Mutant and otherwise), Quasimodo and at least one Frankenstein [Robot]. I'm not sure if Marvel Studios would be allowed to use their versions of such characters. Whereas if you're talking strictly comics, Marvel has the rights to every single character they put in print today, *and always have done.* The only ones they don't have are the licensed properties they no longer have access to, such as Conan, ROM Spaceknight etc
Storm King Well there was the recent story arch in the Avengers where they fought a group of vampires called the Legion of the Unliving. They were out to kill Dracula and all other vampires they thought there unworthy. It was a cool story and the Legion looked awesome!
Three "vampires" had their own titles for various numbers of issues: 1) _Tomb of Dracula_ (1972 - 1979). This was even licensed in Japan and made into an anime series. 2) _Blade the Vampire Hunter_ (1994, 1995 - 1st solo title) plus numerous appearances in other titles 3) _Morbius the Living Vampire_ (1992 - 1995), plus _Adventure into Fear_ (1974, 1975 for 11 issues) There may have been other vampire characters with their own titles, but those are the ones I know. Also, these three also appeared in various issues of Marvel's B&W horror magazines.
I really liked Jubilee as a vampire; instead of turning her into an edgy, grimdark parody of herself (I.E. Speedball-Penance or Apocalypse-Chamber), that highlighted her best qualities (her optimistic and hopeful outlook in life and her willingness to see the best in things in even in the worst of times).
This whole video has got me hankering for a Vampires Masquerade: Bloodlines playthrough again, which has then led me to think about how some characters from that game would interact with a few Marvel characters....
Man, I think about that kind of thing all the time, but as a WoD storyteller I consider it a... creative exercise. Matt Murdock gets tricked by New York Sabbat into helping them fend off a Camarilla incursion, Wolverine is embraced by a Gangrel... WoD vampirism is mystical, not biological, so I think it would take. He'd lose his fast healing though...
That game introduced me to the wonders of Steam. The Malkavian playthrough was always my favorite. Also who doesn't love Jeanette/ Therese! Ménage à trois avec seulement deux!
with Morbius, Blade, and Moon Knight properties coming out it would be good for Marvel to get a huge team together and get all their underworld/vampire lore together for the sake of the creators and for the fans as far as encyclopedias go. Id love to see a Marvel Underworld Encyclopedia!
Man, I loved reading the Darkhold storyline involving Dr. Strange and the race to destroy the tome. Looking back, its surprising how much magic and technology happily coexist in the Marvel universe.
One of my favorite Marvel "What If" comics was what if Wolverine became lord of the vampires. In the main 616 his healing factor cured him. In the what if his healing didn't cure him, but freed his mind from being one of Dracula's ghouls. With his new vampiric powers Logan drained him dry of all his blood and took his place. Along with the rest of the xmen being turned, they turned or killed every hero that opposed them with Wolvie leading the way.
I know she was turned in Earth 9140 but id love to see Emma Frost as a bad ass aristocratic vampire. i love the depiction of vampires just being a bunch of powerful influential rich people having their different factions and having control over weaker or younger vampires
He's an experimental vampire. A test-tube baby. Made with science instead of some supernatural virus. But how does he fly if he doesnt have any wings or supernatural powers? Does he emit helium based farts or something? Ow crap, that's Morbius, the living *farts* vamp *pffff* -ire
Oh yes, that was actually a pretty great story. It's especially fun since they preceded it with Dracula crashing a few other comics beforehand to wreck havoc before taking on Dr. Strange.
There is also Bloodstorm witch is an alternate reality version of Storm introduced in X-men Blue, when the beast(Young), while learning magic, summoned the Goblin Queen (Madelyne Pryor), who is a clone of Jean Grey, who intern summoned a version of Colossus, who fought in hell most his life, Bloodstorm, A demon Nightcrawler, and Pixie, who is also a demon, to form the Hex-Men. Only for bloodstorm to betray the Hex-men and join the X-men permanently, even though she killed her X-men in a blood lust and admits she might do the same.
So drake could you do a video on morbius? Since he's not technically a vampire, what is he? And also I haven't heard too much about him so it would be cool learning about morbius
Morbius is a mutant born to a gypsy woman in Transylvania, who's mutation gives him many vampire-like abilities, but also the need for blood, but I believe he found some kind of alternative for that. He can't turn others into vampires, since he technically isn't even one in the first place, and thus is immune to many of the typical vampire weaknesses, like garlic, stakes and crosses. I don't know from the top of my head if he is also immune to sunlight. Since he is basically a vampire in every way except for actually being one, he has the name "living vampire".
Jonah Steinfeld I actually remember Morbius. He was in that special spiderman xmen crossover from the old xmen show. Actually the only episodes I have seen.
I would like to mention Nina Price, the Vampire by Night. She is the neice of Werewolf by Night and inherited her family's lycanthropy curse. And then she was bitten by a vampire. So she has the abilities of both a werewolf AND a vampire. Now that's what I call a monster mash.
Oh I call bull on atheist vampires being entirely immune to holy water. That sounds like a crap joke that a writer threw in without thinking about what that could mean for the universe as a whole.
Yeah, if that's the case, wouldn't ALL vampires be atheist? Also, it seems counterproductive that you're weak to a symbol of your own religion. Like, shouldn't belief in a god actually grant you favors or rewards that make you resistant or immune to their symbols?
Everyone that watched the Blade trilogy (Including me) thinks that they were amazing and set the Marvel movies of today, it kinda cleared the path for it.
Yeah and if morbius and blade do go and sequels are good then will some point down in the future in the mcu a vampire war films like infinity war and endgame like scenario but i see 4-5 part chapters
The 'no reflection' thing wasn't just because of silver in mirrors, it was also because the reflection was sometimes conflated with the soul, which as you pointed out vampires were thought to lose.
Hey, Drake, great segment! I tell you who would make a great vampire.....Cloak from Cloak & Dagger! He already has the dark demeanor and with his power set, he'd make a kick ass creature of darkness!
dude thats awesome, and the idea of different species is cool too, why didnt they try to do more of this in the blade movies? besides introducing the species that split their jaw and feeds on other vampires, they could at least make a tv series about them.
Hmm... which Marvel character *would* I like to see transformed into a vampire? Cable springs to mind first, but I'm obsessed with Nathan Summers so that doesn't count. Imma go with Charles Xavier. Add some vampire mind control to what he's already capable of, and see if an undead body would let him walk.
I have often come back to a Nazi vampire called Baron Blood in one of my Dad's old Captain America books but don't know a lot about him. Could be a cool character to cover in a future video maybe.
This was a great video man I hope marvel ends up doing something with all their vamp lore bring back blade do something crazy with like him and daredevil and moon knight now that would be cool
7:10 : Although this was a good idea, I don't think it was at all original (not that many things are). I first recall 'Vampire Tribes' being used in the pencil-and-paper RPG known as "Vampire: The Masquerade" (which was supported by a series of novels as well). I think that Ann Rice may have used various vampire 'families', although I don't recall them having different abilities (been a LONG time since I read any Rice novels).
Wait... did I just see a Moby Dick vampire? ¡¡¡That´s AMAZING!!! and by the way, I think the 70´s Disco Vampires is the COOLEST thing the world. ¡¡¡GROOVE!!! Because you know... GROOVE IS IN THE HEART.
Marvel's vanpire world just doesn't have enough interest. That's why Blade probably never holds a comic long. Maybe they need to change their vampires in some way or maybe Marvel will never really be a place people go to for non-superhero stories.
Vampire Thing might be a funny 1 shot. I think the most story potential lies in Vampire Dare Devil. Imagine if DD got sight from being a vampire but lost his sonar stuff and had to relearn everything while also being a vampire/crimefighter.
So, Spitfire is a vampiric hybrid created after Jacqueline Falsworth was bitten by her uncle Baron Blood (a vampire modified and empowered by the Nazis) and then infused with the original "Human Torch"'s proto-blood in an effort to fight off the vampire enzyme. This had mixed results and left Spitfire with her nifty cool powers of Hyperspeed (not as fast as it sounds, but still pretty awesome and she leaves trail of flame as she runs) Adapted Physiology (her body won't break as easy and her metabolism is the bomb) and some of the vampiric abilities including super strength to a degree that is higher than the average vamp and regenerative healing factor. Eventually she even developed a bit of a bloodlust and fangs. At one point Marvel said that the bites and the proto-blood activated a mutant gene, but I call shenanigans.
I get that the Bram Stoker Dracula novel is in the public domain (Universal version aside), but the idea of Dracula in the Marvel Universe sounds like fan fiction. 1:36 Agatha Harkness: *whisphers* That’s the book of the damned!
Also, there is the whole Elsa Bloodstone comic and her encounter with the vampires and their vulnerability to her blood and the Bloodstone she possesses.
This is cool. I'm glad you did this. I feel like vampires stopped being "cool" after twilight around 2010 which is probs why they vanished. But I would personally love some more vamp stories. Possibly some related to more science based characters. Tony Stark?
I don't know about any character I'd make a Vampire (still think what they did to Jubilee was such a waste of time) but I do miss Bloodscream. He was one of Wolverine's more engaging enemies. His interactions with Albert & Elsie-Dee were also a highlight of Larry Hama's run.
I would love to see a Vampire Juggernaut. Undead AND Unstoppable WOULD be a pretty damn cool combination. I know technically he's not known as a hero but there apparently WAS a time where he was, so here's hoping that counts.
As a vampire fan of true bloods and interview with the vampire and penny dreadful 🧛♂️. As a big marvel fan I can't wait for these to be released. But what will they do bite a god
@@wills4579 Hard to tell, since there was a storyline with Kang the Conqueror, in which Rogue goes back in time to try and kill Scarlet Witch before she can take people's powers away. I don't remember if she was successful or not.
Nice breakdown. Hope to see something similar for the DCU. X-Men '92 had a story arc last year ("The World is a Vampire") involving vampires which is worth checking out.

Luke Cage. Because trying to turn him in the first place would be funny.

The fact TH-cam recommended me this after I read Heroes Reborn is freaking me out!
Loopholes. I'm the king of Loopholes! *Sign me up!*
Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter had its first three books turned into abridged Comics that are actually pretty good.
I get that the Bram Stoker Dracula novel is in the public domain (Universal version aside), but the idea of Dracula in the Marvel Universe sounds like fan fiction.
1:36 Agatha Harkness: *whisphers* That’s the book of the damned!
Remember when The Marvel Universe was just Fantastic 4, The Avengers, X-Men, Spiderman and a few oddball characters?
At first I thought Victor Strange was lame. But now I wish they'd bring him back.
Edit: But NOT as Baron Blood! Give him his OWN costume. Sheesh!
Tony Stark?
Imagine a vampire just giving themselves huge splinters in their heart to microdose on stakes and develop and immunity lmao
Vampire Howard the Duck maybe lol
He was nearly turned into a vampire by Hellcow, a vampiric bovine. Check it out!
Claude Larose he was a zombie so
Its awesome that they are bringin Blade into the MCU!
I think Kevin Fiege saw this video haha
Vampire Phoenix, Vampire Hulk, or Vampire Galacta, daughter of Galactus.
It‘s Reallohn interesting how much simalarity are between the Marvel and VTM Vampires
Vampire by night is one of the best characters Marvel of ever created
Time for a Vampires Unleashed event.
I don't know about any character I'd make a Vampire (still think what they did to Jubilee was such a waste of time) but I do miss Bloodscream. He was one of Wolverine's more engaging enemies. His interactions with Albert & Elsie-Dee were also a highlight of Larry Hama's run.
OMGGGG YESSS YOU ARE SUCH AN AGEL I WAS JUST LOOKING FOR THIS THANK YOU
Trinston was here
Ayyy topher! Thanks for some runaways content dude
*☼ they should make a morbius film*
Jubilee is still a vampire?
Mateo Abadia Yup.
Has anyone including Jubilee got there powers back after the house of m?
You cant undo vampirism
GarudaLegends well that’s a bummer
@@wills4579 Hard to tell, since there was a storyline with Kang the Conqueror, in which Rogue goes back in time to try and kill Scarlet Witch before she can take people's powers away. I don't remember if she was successful or not.
6:53 Well sign me up for Vampirism then.
Nice breakdown. Hope to see something similar for the DCU. X-Men '92 had a story arc last year ("The World is a Vampire") involving vampires which is worth checking out.
I had no idea Jubilee was a vampire that's super cool!!
Not anymore.
@@ComicDrake oh what was the story arc called if you happen to know I would love to read that
Redwing became a vampire? Fucking REDWING?!?! That's hilarious XD
