Glad you got to come check out Vortex Arcade again. Dan really is one of the nicest guys and works his butt off on these machines and we work hard as a team to keep this place going. Thanks for supporting us.
@Carlos Morales Dan is one of those guys that has been in the Arcade industry for a long time and like Rick is very passionate about retro. It makes for a great combination of a guy to know if you love that kind of stuff like I do.
@@MisterFatherly i know, that's what I'm saying. I'm that kid from the 80's and 90's, I saw how arcades were in those days - exactly what we see here. I used to live in an area DOMINATED by these arcade locations. One of those places is still standing 30 years later.

I would cry the happiest tears if I owned that Killer Instinct cabinet. It is by far the arcade game I played the most. Seeing it and hearing it just creates this feeling inside of me that I can't describe. Just speechless.....
There's Arcade 1ups of Killer Instinct out there if you love that game that much. It's a reasonable way of getting that experience at home for a couple hundred dollars. Those are much easier to move than the real deal and don't take up as much space in your life.
I love seeing him in the cut aways in his store. I used to go there all the time back in highschool and checked it out again a few days ago while being home for the holidays. That's where I heard about his channel, and it looks like he's taking good care of that store!
this store literally is doin what i plan to do w my game collection. i need more before i can even think of opening a shop but its nice to know my idea has been done and works! to the future.
When I was a kid I used to go to one in New Hampshire called Funspot. It is still there actually and has a ton of games (it is 3 lvls). There is a walkthrough video of it from a few years back. Still has many games from when I was there in the 90's (like the Daytona USA setup with like 8 racers at once).
Actually, I last visited Funspot in 2017 and they no longer had Daytona USA. :( They replaced it with NASCAR Team Racing. It's a shame because in 2016, I was able to play Daytona USA on Endurance mode which was 40 laps Advanced and 80 laps Beginner. Fun times. If you revisit Funspot in the future, one of the better times to visit would be SneakFest. Usually in May/June.
@@MadDogHoek23 I guess that depends on where in the documentary you are referring to. In the early part of the movie, a big chunk of the documentary was filmed on location at Funspot (or more specifically, the American Classic Arcade Museum which takes up residence on the top floor of Funspot). The reason why there were so many people there was because it was during an arcade tournament simply called "The annual Funspot tournament". Years later, it would be called Brofest before going with its current name Sneakfest.

I'm from Chicago and I've been to Galloping ghost arcade a few times and although they have about 800 arcade cabinets under one roof, unfortunately its a $25 cover now (I know this cause I just went 2 weeks ago). Now its great they have those many but how many different games are you actually gonna play in a day? Its not gonna be anywhere near 800. what if i only want to come for a couple hours and dip? then that $25 price tag doesn't really seem worth it. Also they don't have the consoles or places to really sit so your feet can get tired really fast. $10 seems way better because even if im not there long i would still feel it was worth it and i would come more often. Plus having the consoles makes for such a good social experience because there are so many local multiplayer games that you can play with others.
This place is absolutely incredible. Wishing it all the success in keeping the arcade genre alive and kicking. $10 flat rate is a steal
I personally donate to it

Dude, Contra is MY FAVORITE game! This place is SO legit! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
This place looks awesome! If you ever get the chance, check out Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield, Illinois! It has more arcade machines than anywhere in the world, along with the top scores worldwide from each cabinet’s best players…it’s incredible! 🙂
