Something I wish they mentioned in the show is that Rhaenyra is the youngest person to ever ride a dragon. She first rod Syrax at only like 7 or 8 years old and I feel it's a sign she has an extremely deep bond with her dragon.
I feel ya. Thought the birthing scene in this episode was an interesting and wild way to show their connection.
Maybe by herself on her own dragon, but certainly not the youngest in general.

on't forget Helaena bonded with Dreamfyre (massive dragon, bigger than Caraxes and Melys) at just 13-14. I think
Daemon was singing to Vermithor. Vermithor belonged to Old King Jaehaerys, grandfather of Daemon Targaryen.

Vermithor belonged to Old King Jaehaerys and Silverwing belonged to his sister-wife Queen Alyssane. Both are grandparents of Viserys and Daemon.

Did you guys crank up the brightness on your TV or something? I remember in GOT there were some times it was required, I need to do it again and rewatch some of this. I hate how they make it (or at least some episodes) so you have to jack with TV settings. Choking not OK but bashing a paralized wife with a rock is.............whats wrong with people these days?
Does anyone else ever wonder what happened to Rhaenera's other white/silver Haired babies with Daemon that she showed King Viserys her Father?
This takes place only a few days after the events of Episode 8. Rhaenyra and Daemon showed their two sons - Aegon and Viserys - to her father in his bed. Those children don't have much prominence in the show because they're only toddlers. During all of this they were probably being taken care of by nannies.

You know, the more I think on it, the more I hate Rhaenys decision not to BBQ the Hightowers right then and there and be the lauded by the blacks and Rhaenys just enhances her standing with the rightful Queen. I would have back Viserys’ chosen heir for over two decades.

She didn't want to be a kinslayer/kingslayer, and she is the lady of house velaryon, she can't start things without her husband Approval, thats why she didn't bend the knee to rhaenyra when everyone did, cuz her husband didn't choose his side yet +it didn't happen in the book, stupid show writing

Daemon choked her in attempt to snap her out of this stupid stale/inaction taking attitude she has that's like her father. It was literally a weakness of his & it's the reason a war will start now. His inaction allowed the Greens to gain this power. Daemon doesn't want a similar fate to fall on her. He's also lashing out a little for feeling overlooked again by his brother not telling him this secret dragon dream.
I mean let's really consider this here, the entire reason they let Laenor leave & risked turning Corlys & Rhaenys against them is because she needed Daemon to help her against the Greens. I mean she literally says "I need you uncle I can not face the Greens alone". He agrees & now the time is here, these fuckers have usurped the Iron Throne, basically spitting on Viserys grave, and she's considering accepting the Greens terms? Basically surrendering? I'd be pissed off if I were Daemon as well. She's literally being naive to the point of stupidity just like her dad. Daemon was preparing for this fight the moment they married because that's what she needed him for & he feels like she's going back on her word to him.
I mean the choking part aside I'm with Daemon here. He was on point this entire episode. The only thing (again choking aside) that I may not have done was kill Otto like Daemon wanted to. Because I wouldn't want to deliver the first strike in the war. Plus it's super dishonorable to kill the messenger. Rhaenyra (And Alicent suffered this same stupidity last episode) is being naive to think there's anyway this goes peaceful with her ending up on the Throne. And it's even dumber to think the Realm is safer under Aegon II who she knows is a drunk fool who isn't even aware of the prophecy. What was she going to get him alone & tell him & expect him to actually take it seriously?
I'm against Daemon choking her. But she forgave it & understood. It's not the sign of a consistent toxic relationship thing since it wasn't a book story. It's most likely a one time foul up to remind us that Daemon is still a rouge. In this fictional setting I'm looking past it & still loving Daemon. Until we see otherwise that is. (And while they've made book changes nothing so far that effects the end result. Aemond accidentally killing Luke still ends with Luke dead, Daemon killing his wife still results in her dead, Laenor not dying still results in him being gone from the story, etc...)
The above said, I do think she needed a wake up call & I do think he realized he over did it.
Daemon went to see Vermithor the second largest Dragon. Not a wild Dragon. Not to sure why, I really hope it's to claim or at least attempt to claim a 2nd Dragon. But it could also be to get the Dragon used to humans again for the war.
At least the loss of control of the Dragons makes since.
Arrax is basically a baby probably less than 10 years old getting chased aggressively by this giant monster over 150 years old. Arrax knows Vhagar is being used to scare/harm them so out of fear it lashes out with fire. That attack triggers Vhagar to go assault mode.
BUT, I do fully blame Aemond for this. He shouldn't have been so stupid as to bring this 150 year old living Nuke of a Dragon on a chase to scare his nephew. Sure they both lost control of their Dragons but Luke is a child riding a child Dragon being chased by a giant war machine monster. It's understandable on his & his Dragons part that they got scared. It should've been understood by Aemond that Vhagar is no dog able to be controlled by stern yells. Vhagar lived during the Conquest, burned literal cities & towns to the ground. Brought lords & Kings to their knees. Aemond fucking knows that yet still was so stupid to believe he could play a cat & mouse game with this beast?
And for something Aemond already settled. He said losing the Eye to gain Vhagar was a fair trade & told Alicent to chill.
Ultimately Aemond may not have meant to kill Luke, which is a change I like, it's still his fault 100%.

Umm that’s actually incorrect. Daemon choked her cause he got mad that Viserys didn’t tell him about the prophecy. That means Viserys never truly saw him as a capable leader. He trusted Rhaenyra enough and truly felt she was meant to be THE Queen, so Daemon took his anger out on her. The director/writer has already confirmed this. Rhaenyra’s attitude of trying to keep peace and prevent war was the right thing to do like she explained in the episode.
Also daemon was not entirely right. He was acting too quickly and not considering other possibilities to prevent war as it was literally explained in the episode. Daemon is a loose cannon and acts recklessly and careless too much. Rhaenyra wasn’t being naive, she was considering other outcomes to prevent war, which is what a good leader/ruler should do.

I already said & agreed he lashed out. But there were other reasons. Reasons Daemon literally said as he choked her. Reason i explained.
Entertainment is subjective I care not what the director said. I stand by my comment period.
And what other possibilities was she considering that were actually good mate? The only real one was giving up the crown if it meant a untied Realm under Aegon II rule which is the dumbest thing ever. Sure she may not know he's a rapist who enjoys watching children being forced to fight & get body alterations to improve their combat skills. But we do & since I know it I know considering letting that idiot stay in charge is a foolish choice.
She DOES know Aegon is a drunken idiot & not fit to rule. Like I said in my comment what was her plan about the prophecy? Tell Aegon alone? As if he'd agree to be alone with her after a potential civil war with her at his enemies head was averted. Even if he did agree to be alone he'd laugh in her face when she told him the dream. He believes Viserys changed his mind about her why would he take anything she says about him seriously especially something about a vague as fuck coming darkness or winter from the north.
Also consider that Rhaenyra wasn't even considering giving up the throne until she heard the terms presented. So her hellbent peaceful means attitude before that was under the context that she wanted to be Queen. How was she planning to get Aegon off the throne? Ask him nicely after he literally usurped her? Okay good job boss.
Daemon was doing what she asked him to do when they got married. Help her face the Greens.
Just to be clear, I don't think it's unrealistic for her to take the peaceful approach. I think it fits the character & is well done. But it's still naive period.
@@jacob41057 Rhaenyra was not considering giving up her crown lol. She was considering ways to prevent bloodshed. Like she asked daemon if there was a way to get the throne back without Otto Hightower’s head being on a spike says a lot. She’s never even really liked Otto but she still doesn’t want to kill him. She’s just trying to avoid bloodshed, and she never said anything about trying to tell Aegon the prophecy she could consider trying that but she was just reminding daemon that there’s more at stake than the throne.
Also you can’t really just write off what the director/writers intentions were with that scene and claim entertainment is all subjective lol. It is but if that’s the direction they’re going and explained why daemon did what he did, that’s what happened no matter what you say. The things daemon said as he choked her could have some truth to them b it it’s not meant to be this huge bombshell of him being right. He was angry and literally choking Rhaenyra cause he was mad his brother never saw him fit, it’s that simple.
Daemon embraces that the public sees them as “Gods” cause of their dragons, he’s ready to use the dragons for any and everything. While Rhaenyra takes a more realistic approach and knows the danger of using the dragons especially in war.

The truth is that in this chapter I do not understand Rhaenyra, she wants to bring peace after she has been removed from the throne and has been humiliated since she had Asus children, what was she saying to Daemon in chapter 1x7, I cannot alone with them greens I need you and now that daemon realizes that the throne has been taken from his wife what is the first thing he does to look for allies reinforce dragontons in case they attack them and she starts to fight with him because she thinks she can do things better than him
that is why it is the anger of daemon who sees in her a viserys 2.0 he knows that the hightowers have been the problem from the beginning that daemon told viserys I will protect you from anyone but that is what hurts daemon realizing that viserys I never trust him if daemon he has never been a character neither good nor bad to him the only thing that matters to him is to protect his family I know that what he did to rhaenyra was not right but that is what bothers him to see that rhaenyra be like viserys who lets himself be manipulated by others
Awesome vid. Also it should be pointed out that Rhaenyra eventually loses the war, gets captured, and eaten by Aegon II’s dragon, Sunfyre.
Nobody really won the war. Everyone (including the dragons) who played prominent roles in the war ended up dying and they eventually compromised by having the children of both claimants marry each other.
