My endodontist told me I need a root canal on the bottom molar. However, only the nerve in one out of the two canals appears dead. The other nerve is alive and I passed the cold test sensation on the tooth. The tooth does not hurt or give problems…just a dark spot on the X-ray where there is apparently bone loss. I am dreading going to get the procedure, I don’t know where to turn for advice so I am researching about RCT and have read horror stories. Should I opt out of getting it done since only half the tooth is technically dead?
