In this video I review the Stihl MS 211 C-BE chainsaw with the Easy2Start spring-clutch system, primer bulb, and Easy Chain Adjuster. I discuss specs, key features, likes, dislikes, and use conditions best suited for this saw.
I also use the saw to de-limb and partially buck a downed tree, then compare cut speed with a Kobalt 80V cordless chainsaw.

I love this saw. Had mine since it first came out and never any problems. I run the yellow chain on it and it cuts like a banshee

I have this saw and have had it for about 4 years. Love it! I primarily use it to prep logs into bowl blanks for my lathe. It always starts. Always! Serves me well

Thanks for the review, was looking for a replacement for my 210C that I had for 15 years. Loan it to a neighbor 1 1/2 months ago. he may bring it back, but I was really just looking for a reason to get a new saw. The one you are reviewing will be it. Thanks again.

I am having an issue with my stihl 16 " ms211 chain saw. The master throttle lever slides past another lever on the carburettor. I have taken it back 5 times to rectify the issue. I asked the stihl dealers to do a report on it and notify the Stihl head office that they have a faulty engineering issue, I was told, that would require to much paper work. Warranty has just expired, the chain saw is back in the work shop to fix the problem, but now they tell me that there is some other issue with the fuel supply, without even looking at it. I was told to leave it in the workshop for a service, which I have done. I am going back there today to inspect the saw myself because believe that the master throttle lever has broken off, because on one occasion when I took the saw in to be repaired they told me that they had fixed the problem by bending to lever.

I've run mine pretty hard and never had any real problems with the chain coming loose. You may have a faulty tensioner.

At around 7:53 in, it looks like your are starting by pulling the cord with very little effort to wind it, then releasing it like a coiled spring and it fires off. Is this just the timing of the video vs. the audio track, or does this chainsaw have an unusual starting method?

The answer to your question is explained near the beginning of the video.

    From Japan.
I too purchased a chainsaw 15 years ago for making firewood and used it with MS211C-BE until recently when I felt it lacked power and decided to use MS261C-M together. I use the MS211 for branch clearing.
I guess MS211C-BE will be replaced by its successor MS212C-BE.

Nice to hear from Japan. I love the easy starting of the MS211, but the tooless chain tensioner could be better in my opinion. Thanks for the info on the MS212; I had not heard about it before. I will check it out next time I'm at the Stihl dealer (I see they have photos published already).
The MS261 is a superb saw. It's light, powerful, and reliable. I've worked it hard without any issues. So far, it's my best saw.
I have been looking for a 60cc chainsaw recently for slabbing larger logs and will post some videos on this soon.

Recently I have been thinking about getting MS500i.
      I am translating with deepl.

@@freestylekayaker9825 The MS500i is expensive, but also probably the best larger saw on the market. I would be interested to see how fuel injection compares to carbureted Mtronic, but I don't currently have the need for such a large saw. I only have a few trees larger than 20 inches (51cc) in diameter.
By the way, the Deepl translation is working very well on my side. The English is almost perfect.

Get a saw dog,it will keep the saw from binding on the wood,no matter what saw you have.I have used stihl for over 30 years, lately they are getting bad,and twice the price they should be,echo is better the waranty is longer and they run just a little better but its a persons choice,I stihl love stihl.

i have a new 211, standard pull, chain adjust etc, pulled screen in muffler within a week and launched it into the bush using proper mix ratio, starting it is problematic at best, my old 066 is easier to fire up, never will buy a new variety stihl again, junk.
