The Monkeys of Silver Springs State Park, FL.

The Rhesus Macaque Monkeys are Old World monkeys. They offer the greatest geographical distribution of all non-human primates, across Asia, Southern Europe and North Africa. there are about 300 of them that roam the Silver River State Park in Florida. I was very fortunate to have seen the number of them I did during my visit to the park. They are not kept there against there will and choose to stay. The monkeys were brought there in the 1930's to boost tourism for the park.
