THAT EXACT FUCKING DIALOGUE HAPPENED WITH MY DAD OH MY GOD! I went in 2015 and before then I was shit scared of roller coasters and had never been on one. But he was like "oh this one's alg" and told me about it, but neglected to tell me that it went backwards, or that there was a bloody elevator in it too lmao. But by the end of the day I had been on the green lantern and the Asylum one in which my mum vomited after going on.... the superman wasn't running that day.

When I forced my 2 young children & my mother on this ride 12 years ago, I thought it was a harmless kid’s coaster. I had no idea that it’d be in complete darkness! My kids cried/screamed the whole time & all I could do was laugh hysterically whilst saying “I’m sorry” (bahahaha). I secretly LOVED it & wanted to go again!
my parents made the exact same mistake and it traumatized me for the rest of the vacation. I even begged them not to make me go on and they insisted it was a harmless little kiddie ride

Yes!! In the early days it was pitch black with disco lights and great sound with the music. It seems so lame now with the lights on ( my last time there was 2 years ago before they closed it for renovations and there were barely any special effects )

THIS is my kind of roller coaster: no high up in the sky hill to climb and then descend at 70 mph. I like the spookiness of it, lights on or off.

I remember going on this as a kid and being terrified. I hated the dark as it was let alone on a rollercoaster with lighting effects. Feels weird being able to see everything, including the floor. I hope it's pitch black inside when I revisit in August
My first experience when I was 7, back in 2009 was scary but memorable for all the great reasons!
I've seen the ride now, and although it's still roughly the same, I always remember it from my childhood 💙

Not sure if I'm remembering this ride correctly but I remember the monsters looking and sounding different, and being more creepy back in 2005. There also use to be more smoke, lights, sharp and quicker turns, more faster, and Scooby Doo would talk to you more via more various animatronics scattered around different parts of the ride.
They simply had the lights switched on for this ride in order to film the POV. The effects are better in the dark.
Thats what i thought. I remember riding this and it was much faster & darker.
@@Lupercal1901 They switched on the lights and turned off the smoke effects so you could see the ride for this video. If they didn't, it'd just be a black screen almost the entire time.
And all rollercoasters are actually faster than they look on any video because video cameras still aren't good at capturing the speed of movement. Heck even Superman Escape looks slow on its POV video too.

@@colliric I know the lights are only for the video, but when I went on it in 2012 and 2014 it was way different than I remember when I went on it once in 2005

I rode this accidentally as a 7 year old, for fucks sake that was a scarring experience.
Ha ha I accidentally took my 7 year old daughter on it - I thought because it was based on a cartoon it was a gentle funny ride - she was hysterical by the end and I had to carry her out when we got to the exit platform. We can laugh about it now 6 years later but it was a "bad dad" moment at the time :-)

This hits home because when I was really young I never wanted to go on this ride cause it was “too scary” for me but a few years ago I decided to go on it but it broke down and I was in the line for four hours and to this day I’ve never seen the inside of the ride
I was too scared to go on it years ago. It was my first roller coaster in the late 2000s and it was so much fun.
So much better in the dark so you don't see whats about to happen. Loved this ride! So much fun.
Best ride there is at movie world hands down, Especially when the lights are off! I'm sure it's suppose to appeal more to kids but that isn't the case at all 😂 I recommend anyone who goes to movie world to go on this. You will not regret it, even if the line is long it's well worth the wait and you will probably go around and stand in line again like I did x10 😂😊🙌🏻

This was an awesome ride. I went with some much younger friends and although some of the small drops were scary, we had a lot of fun. It was awesome. I thought it'd be another childish ride like the justice league one but this was great!

Holy shit I can't wait to go on this ~ I've been to MovieWorld about 2-3 times now, but I've never been on this ride before (I've been too scared haha) but next time I go I want to go to the Wild West ride, the Batwing (I've done those two before) the Superman and the Scooby Doo rides! There is no lights anymore! It’s pitch black and you can’t see a thing(it makes it more scary) but it’s a shame because you can’t see the chopping things and all the scenery
I remember going on this ride, I absolutely loved it. When I went on this when I was 8, (pretty sure it was 2012?) and when it got to the roller coaster bit, it was all dark no light at all! So clearly they made a change there 😂
The only thing about that was scary when I was a child was the waiting I line (the build-up to the ride).
But the ride has had minor changes. Also the wild wild west is fun because it's a mix of a violent ride and calm ride (like scooby)
When I went there I went into: Scooby do, D.C rivals, green lantern, super man,Doomsday destroyer and it was SOOO FUN

This is my favourite ride ever! It's changed a bit though. Way more dark though! You can hardly see anything, there is lasers and everything, I think it has improved a lot. Btw I went last week :) Except we had to wait in line for a around 1 hour and a bit, definitely worth it though! At the end of that day we just kept going on it 😂 Totally recommend it!

I wish Movie World just refurbished everything and left it the same instead of making a "better next generation" ride out of it. Lot's of fun memories with that ride. I just wished it stayed the same
I just watched a video of the Updated Version, and then this one. The UV has better lighting, but the screens totally ruin the immersion. The Older Version is more immersive because it's all practical effects and dialogue lines, they should have kept the Older Version and dimmed the lights and it would be perfect. The only better part of the UV is the last room, because the lights on the walls are reminiscent of a 60s party but with a modern feel in a better lit room. The older version is still better, totally agree
I went on this ride yesterday and it was terrifying, when we got to the elevator at 1:13 it doesn't look like it does in this video, it doesn't make it obvious that it's an elevator, so I just thought, what happens now? Then we started going up. By the time we got to the turns at 2:16 we were in pitch black darkness being violently thrown from side to side at max speed.
I agree, took my son on it years ago & we both hated it, being thrown from side to side. The worst roller coaster I've been on.

It IS Aragog and the Harry Potter walk through was for the chamber of secrets and it was over in the building that the gaming machines are now near the Wild West area and there used to be a huge front end of the hogwarts express coming out of the wall next to it
