Sam Rhodes with the band of the Scots Guards, which he had previously been director of. I have to say I love your version just as much. I so much wanted to learn the french horn, but it never happened, my parents couldn't afford to buy me one, I knew that, so I never asked.
The poppies in the last clip are so poignant when so many decent young men perished, including George Butterworth. (Though Elgar wrote Nimrod 20 years before WW1) Steven Isserlis's cd with the Trench Cello is fantastic.... another celebration to honour those who's lives were destroyed by political wickedness.
