I remember looking at a yellow FD back in college and just fell in love with the design instantly. It’s timeless. As an NSX owner, I can appreciate your take on it. Vacuum lines seem as crazy as my 300zx.

It is truly a beautiful design. I love it. But it is like the boss level in a hard video game when it comes to understanding the vacuum line diagram. Thanks for watching!

Those two are definitely my top two favorite 90s JDM.

    Nice !
There's not a single day where I don't miss my lovely FD. But, don't get me wrong, there's not a single day where I don't feel HAPPY to have selled it for a NSX ^^ The driving experience of the FD was just mind-blowing, the nsx is far more linear and probably too comfy. But as you say it in the end, the FD is way more sensitive when it comes to maintenance. Like A LOT . I know you own it only for a small time, but to me, after spending 3 years of ownership and spending 95% of maintaining it, now I can't complain for driving my NSX 95% of the time, 5% of maintaining it lol

That is a great way to put it!!! The FD is such a beautiful car. Right now, I am working on the small issues, but it is such a blast to drive.

Both are amazing cars but there is just that something super about the feeling you get when driving an NSX. I always hear it’s hard to explain until you drive it. Then you don’t ever want to get out of the NSX 😂. I always liked the styling of the NSX but once I got to drive one that was it. I was hooked😊

The NSX is a great driving car and I love it but there are definitely different things that other 90s Super JDMs do that the NSX does not and that is a great thing. You get a new experience, but the NSX is definitely a special car.

Nice comparison. I've owned both, still own the FD, and your comments are spot on. The nsx has an amazingly refined feel to it. It feels weightier and more planted. More grown up, civilized and more expensive. It's no wonder the car was a huge wake up call to Ferrari at the time. Having said that, there's no doubt in my mind that the rx7 is the more fun car to drive. The lightness, nimble steering, fast reving rotary, turbo sounds... It's just way more exciting to drive. I get the nostalgia of a nsx, peak 90s jdm sports car, but if you want a civilied sports car, a 996+ 911 is better in every way. If you want a sports car to hoon in and put a ridiculous smile on your face, the rx7 reigns supreme, even against modern sports cars since you can't build sports cars like it anymore due to modern regulations. Lastly, 280hp just doesn't feel fast anymore when your average accord and camry has that much hp. The rx7 mod community is incredible and a quick spooling single turbo 400+ hp fd is completely nuts, in the best way possible. I regret not keeping the nsx because of what they sell for now, but in terms of smiles per miles, 100% its the rx7.

So true but I am also a bit lazy and value reliability a ton. The FD is smiles across the board, but the NSX is a car you can drive to the moon and back and not worry. That really makes it the winner but when it comes to fun, I am with you 100%. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@DriversTherapy you're spot on with that comment. If you don't enjoy spending a decent amount of time wrenching on cars, don't go near the rx7. Modern electronics (haltech ECU) and a good tune definitely do away with a lot of the reliability issues that tarnished the rotary's reliability reputation of yester-year, but it's still a car for gear heads. As I get older that does wear on me a bit. Might have to join the gt3 fan boi club at some point...

Have both in the same exact years and agree 100% with all points! I definitely would pick my nsx over my rx-7 though just simply because of the relaxed driving experience 90% of the time
