Bringing back the original cast of the first film for the 4th was a major shock to the system.
The tagline alone:'New model, Original parts' was too good for marketing.
This was the grittiest of the saga and a major step up from F1.
Serious drama, good action, great driving and no games allowed in this scenario.
Gal Gadot as Giselle makes her acting film debut.
Nice addition to the saga.
IRL, she was a veteran supermodel and ex-military in her home country of Israel.
The 'Los Bandoleros' short film, directed by Diesel was good for expanding the story.
All about Dom and his newest crew after the events of the first film.
It was available with the movie after home release.
When it comes down to it, the bond of these original characters (Dom, Letty, Brian & Mia) was and still is the core of the Fast Saga.
After this one, everything changes.

For whatever reason whenever I see or hear the word hippocampus my brain just pictures a couple hippos on two legs in letterman jackets walking around a college campus
Just to throw it somewhere: the hippocampus is named such because of it's shape is similar to that of a seahorse, which from ancient Greek mythology was the "hippocampus", the creatures which pulled the chariot of Poseidon -the God of the Sea, Storms, and Earthquakes- and had the front-half of a horse and the rear-half of a fish. That part of the brain had other names for a while, but hippocampus is the one that stuck.

To be honest, watching it with lenses that someone thinks this is the first movie, this actually could be the first movie. Couple references to the first movie, but other than that you could just watch from this movie onward and be okay.

@luxurybuzz3681 to be fair, it's fair to assume producers(Vin included) had a lot of input. There's a lot of behind the scenes stuff of Lin being visibly unhappy. Probably why he walked away from fast X too.
Fast five really was the best one, then it went downhill from there besides furious 7 with Paul walker having that be his last film (technically his brother played half scenes If I remember)

This is definitely when they become super heroes Dom's body absorbs a bullet and heals itself and Dom clearly runs over Brian in his charger when he also runs over Felix but Brian doesnt have a scratch on him hahahaha
I mean dom getting shot was pretty realistic. It would’ve hurt like hell but it wouldn’t have knocked him off his feet or anything. And it didn’t heal itself it very clearly shows Mia stitch it up.

4:38 Nah, you're not wrong... He was 100% NOT an officer at the end of the 2nd movie.
I'm sure you remember, but in the first movie he was just a metro cop working along side the FBI when they were searching for the semi robbers (Dom's crew) and he gave Dom his car at the end...
So, he was on the run after the first movie, got caught streetracing and forced to help take down Verone in the 2nd... And it ended with him and Roman both showing that the stole a bunch of Verone's money before the authorities swooped in.
He wasnt in the third movie...
And now the first time we see him in the 4th film and he's a federal officer chasing down a bad guy.
I mean, its not a CRAZY leap to think he mat have gone on to work for the FBI... But the films never set that up, as he has basically been a criminal since the end of the first film. And HONESTLY, why ON EARTH would the FBI hire him given what hid when he was a cop? Its nonsensical.
22:19 Actually no. Phoenix was trying to kill him and Dom. So this would be self-defense not murder. Had Brian not grab Phoenix to prevent him from moving he would’ve got out the way then afterwords shot Dom and Brian afterwards

Literally benched all furious movies by disc and threw all 11 of them away. Uninteresting milked story, way too dramatic, terrible fight choreography. The franchise really needs to take a break & actually take their time and not have one come out once every 2 yrs. The only decent one is Hobbs & Shaw.
