They got space station and synthetics and experiment on aliens and they cant figure out how to get the recoil down though, its wild to me. Good looking game though. I personally cant do VR but its good to see a full playthrough.

interesting take: I do not play ANY reprojection games, and even with titles like Synapse and Red Matter 2, I can feel nauseous.. (I played VR in the nineties, "Dactyl Challenge on the Amiga 4000", and have had my legs for aeons, until doing some barrel rolls in Ace Combat a few years ago.. now I can feel nauseous 'easily' if the game does certain things.. ie falling) Alien Rogue Incursion, with over 30 hours of gameplay, couple of hours daily if I want, and the longest play sessions of any VR title I have,.. is sickness free. Completely. And it is reprojection. That being said, it uses an excellent version of Repro - and somehow just feels fast and smooth and never immersion breaking. If I am looking for 'double images', I CAN see them.. sideways movement on bright objects in hands whilst panning the camera slowly etc, and then I have to be looking for the vertical contrasty edges, generally reading text at the edge of the screen.. in ACTUAL GAMEPLAY this basically never happens. There are a few 'controlled falls' and I geta small kick in the stomach, per usual, but it is so easy to push on. Survios are masters at making VR games in Unreal Engine, and it really shows. Easily one of the best VR games I have ever played, and super easy to clock up hours daily.. (game has longevity due to 'call of duty'-esque shooting sequences- I keep multiple save games at 'fun points', and enjoy starting each new patch that comes out, basically every other day, and love seeing how far I can get on a life etc) Weirdly this 'playthrough' is more of a 'run and dash through' and seems like set to super easy. Although that being said the difficulty, on hard, has gone up very noticeably with newer patches.. (better enemy Ai, traversal and transistions, and tactics..) For me this is the perfect VR games and I don't play survival horror genre games usually past the 'calm intro sequences'. Aliens? let me at em'
Love how people are slagging this game off on steam based on the MC, I have been tempted many times to comment saying how the MC is from the dark horse comics and are the ones that saved ripley
@ most likely you won’t as this is probably a spin off based on the series and made sense for them since there’s a second isolation game in development
@@uknavi6958 Im pretty sure Alien IP can be licensed out for anyone to use. Kind of like 40k or Marvel games studio. But if its in say a public domain like snow white then the creators can do as they wish and do what they want with the canon or EU of it, which if youre making a dream IP passion project youre most likely also gonna respect the source material. So far this, alien isolation and DD are actually really good games. All very different with different skins and play styles, this game alone really does a perfect job blending Isolation with VR. Ive watched 2 people play it for the first hour now and its funny and cool to see how they slowly yet surely start understanding the mechanics and what to do with all the objects and puzzles.
yeah- as a collector of the Dark Horse comics in the 90s; getting the full story of Hadleys Hope (/Newts story) and a whole bunch of world building to flesh out the universe.. (ruddy Weyland Yutani!!) was awesome. Established characters, decades ago, with a story line continued... Isolation is established universe cannon, and the characters and timelines keep crossing over. Survios has gold with this product.. (even if cancel culture wants to claim everything is theirs../'they know better'/'more' etc.. I have raised children through this 'entitled time period' - everyone has equal voice on the internet up until a minority claims their specialness trumps EVERYTHING. and we all have to cater and pander. Civilisation no longer cares for clean drinking water and air, but how people brand the water.. (what colour should the bottle be so that vocal whingers don't claim 'oh you are pandering to 'someone else') As a parent who moved hundreds of kilometres to get my child into a special school that ENCOURAGED THIS, I can now no longer relate with my child. (nor 'them' with the world.. ) I know I have failed as a parent to instill survival values on to the next generation.. but 'they' are very creative and artistic,..and for some reason -"still not happy in the slightest". The difficulties of my grandparents generation were legitimate.. (all social sectors and cultures would agree..),.. but the upcoming 'VOCAL' minorities OWN the media. I hope someone can magically build a product that caters to THEIR needs. In the meantime- I love playing games written without prejudice or bias, or programming. (eg Alien Rogue Incursion)
I've been playing the same game for a little bit and kind of hard to use the tracker when the aliens at times just pop out of nowhere. The tracker is nice but some times I feels useless because you can hear where they are coming from some times.
I'm playing the game, you don't need the tracker becuase when the alien cames you can hear them, and the tracker do a noise when they are near, so you always know
@@Lexgams exactly. It's nearly useless. If there was no 'sound' from the tracker then yes you'd have to use it a lot more often. Only difference is is that sure you hear that sound but you don't know where they are at. But I prefer that for more immersive experience. The tracker some times loses the alien after a short bit. It's a hit or miss. I also beat alien rogue Incursion and I absolutely love the game. I'm playing it on easy for my second playthrough. Normal was my first. Idk about hard or insane. I don't want to break my ps VR 2 headset lol
good in a lot of aspects, but the map and quest marker pointers should really be fixed, this is like the 15th time i've had to revisit this walkthrough just to get through the game.
@@IdrankWD40 I see this comment is dated two days ago.. is this with the January '1.06' patch? I thought Survios had redressed the map markers in some missions being off (etc). based on their (dev teams) constant improvements, pretty confident that will be fixed shortly. patch/update road map due shortly. so far they just keep delivering and the patch notes they provide are FAR from exhaustive of the changes and improvements implemented.
@@whitedragem I might play through it again soon, but it was exceptionally difficult on my first run through, and i wasn't even in the hardest difficulty.
@@IdrankWD40 well from what you have raised- the difficulty was artificial, in some regards, due to 'game breaks'. if the xenos are less spongey and therefore the ammo is more plentiful, I think this game would become near pure bliss on an easier diffculty. (I have save games spanning difficulties). 'non toxic masculinity' (an actual term) should allow us to play 'easy' in front of friends and not be worried about judgement. if anyone gives crap for playing a game like this on easy... (perhaps THEY should give it a try~) ~smiles with`
lien Rogue Incursion on PSVR2, and wow, what an intense experience! The immersive atmosphere and high-stakes gameplay really put you in the shoes of a survivor trying to outsmart alien threats
Thanks you for this video, I don't have VR si many thanks to you, it's will be an pleasure to watch you play and to discover this beautiful Aliens Game
Inside of all those random cardboard boxes you can find a lot of ammo and sometimes health. Always move stuff and check inside. It’s hidden under safety helmets as well.
Also, many may have forget that but... technically speaking, Zula and David-1 have kinda a story. I mean, after the events on USCSS Europa, Zula fell in love with David. They can technically have a relationship by the times of this game.
It'd be cool if Alien games used a similar Geo-Mod technology to Red Faction 2, where if their acid burned through the floor you could travel through it to descend to other/hidden levels.
I will probably get next year a VR set for that game, hope for a few good other missions, they gave lots of assets to re-use in different configurations i would think. Overall nice story, great twists and turns, but some plotholes and lore inaccuracy is irritating. Especially about acidic blood being nearly harmless apparently 😢 This campaign would be a great co-op experience, i hope they add it in the future. For example: A copy of the Android on the tablet and in a new seagson android body, controlled by another player. Or a squad of hired mercenaries to evacuate the facilities personal, until the facilities are purged and experiments can resume.
I got plenty of r games beennplaying for long, to me this is one of the best vr games came put this year, had much more fun and like the Story and looking for part 2.
this looks like an Alien 2 (Aliens) homage in a very similar spirit Alien:Isolation is a homage to Alien 1! Don't have the VR but I love watching this playthrough! Finally a few Alien games that feel good
OMG stop. It's okay to comment a bunch of crap but at least keep Aliens out of it. Calling this garbage an hommage to Aliens, the greatest Horror movie ever created, is hilarious.
@@style0vertalent191 Aliens is in my top five fave movies,.. or WAS, for decades. I bought the pen and paper roleplaying game; gave stats for all the main movie characters; Bishop being basically straight 20s (maybe didn't ahve a luck score?) but is of course limited to 'no weapons', 'no kill' etc. Darkhorse comics expanded the universe, and, specifically to 'Aliens', "Newts Story" was the pre story to the movie (worth a read).. gives the story of what happened to everyone. (the sequence of the last stand was brilliant- 'humaness' (sympathy) being OUR weakness)). This IS ALIENS. (you get to be a bad ass marine with lots of firepower); how is this Alien? (this is 100% AlienS!) Alien is the contrast of white and black, Ridley Scott/Cinematography where darkness represents death, and light, 'life'; Aliens is James Cameron- big budget actionfest. This game is not 'be the mouse' (Alien) This game is be the badass (Aliens) If it had been named Aliens, people wouldn't have marked review scores down for 'not being Isolation 2'. This is the best VR game I have ever played. and switches between which movie a player is in at any given moment. I suppose it is just 'Dark Horse' universe part x? There is a lot of cannon that runs parallel to this. (Amanda Ripley is our contact point in the 'local' area)
@@whitedragem Wow. Once again, wow. You know, even after all these years....ah, nevermind. I honestly don't even wanna actually reply to this. It's beyond annoying to type a 1000+ words already about the fact that you're not even able to understand what my comment says. And then comes all the bullshit in that comment. Let's just leave it at that.
Oh, well. Time do my annual replay of the Alien VS. Predator 2010 game on all 3 sides. Then play a bit of Aliens: Fireteam Elite too. ^^ :D And only when it is late and perfectly dark: headphones on + time to replay Alien: Isolation. Preferably with some mods, to make it even more scary and have even better graphics. 😎💯 When I want again some more intense and tactical fights in a Single-Player experience, Aliens: Dark Descent is also an awesome option to play! :)
Despite the fact VR turns the game a bit difficult to navigate into, the game itself is quite good. There are lots of references well fitted in the game. From the datapad that is branded "Armat", famous military equipment company to the Gemini Exoplanet Solutions, same company that ran the labs in Sevastopol Station. The dropship you use to get on the planet is the same of Alien: Covenant... yeah well done, well made game. I still don't understand why they choose to made it for VR... I mean... it's like to play a prank on fans of the title. "Yeah folks, we know you like the games, and we know you've bought PCs and Consolles to play those titles until now. But if you want to play the next chapter, you'll have to buy another consolle/PC. Congrats folks". Damn it really feals to have to deal with Weyland&Yutani... -_-
Have you ever looked up at how to overcome motion sickness in vr? There are some guidelines that help a lot, i can play intense games for hours now without a problem
Someone beat me to it, but there's never been a better time to get into VR. If you have a PS5, get the PSVR2 as it's better for immersive solo games like this and is on sale for 350 with Horizon COTM for free. If you don't have a PS5 grt, the Quest 3 for 500 and it comes with Batman Arkham Shadow.
I was excited for years to learn more about that 'upcoming Aliens FPS' game. Especially as there was only garbage since AvP2010. And then...this was announced. Remember peoples reaction when Blizzard announced Diablo Immoral? This was even ten times worse for me. ^^
I was really looking forward to this game for months and at first it exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately the developers didn’t factor the working man into this one. Very few automatic save points, and a casual mode that’s not very casual. Getting all the way through a tough fight, (for a part time gamer) dying, and having to go through the entire fight again is just frustrating. I also made it to “supposedly” end of the game and couldn’t get the door opened. I get people want a challenge but some of us who work long days would like a casual fun experience.
The game is cool. I just wanted to see more smart guns in this.. plus they over did with wayyyyy to many aliens especially for being a solo shooter through out the whole game
no way. being able to look down sights and hip fire, and point the motion tracker one way and fire in another are aspects of playing IN 3D space. VR shooters allow firing around corners without stepping out etc. and simple stuff like reloading, not 'being a button' becomes a gameplay funtime. When I am terrified, in a corner, low on ammo with two Xenos stepping up on me,.. I scream and fumble and forget how to reload guns.. like I would if I actually were in a room with a Xenomorph. I don't play survival horror games. Especially NOT in VR. I cannot get enough time in this game.. (30+ hours already, barely scratched the surface)
acid etch does a nice job altering floor 'tiles'. better than any 'bump mapping' or GPU/mathmatically cheap way to employ such effects. open world segments and corridors with no loading screens between is impressive.. but if Xeno 'blood' was true to lore,.. no game engine or 'standard PC hardware' would render that game world. Game devs would have a nigh impossible time to build a tight game sure it would be a 'fun mechanic'.. but just like the start of Joss Wheedons ' Alien 4 (Twohy script moved to Riddick series, I believe).. Xenos being smart enough to 'hurt themselves' to create an escape- the dynamism would be 'too much' for a tight game experience. maybe EAs new game building AI could tackle that one? (jokes)
28:14 damn i press the button not i put just the card out of terminal now nothing work and i can not put it again in terminal.. no chance now iam in trap damn must save load again
The fight scene at the hour mark seems rigged for the story. They were clearing swiping and hitting you but some reason you took no damage. Its like they wanted you to enjoy a fight out and keep the story going and not make it super hard just for the sweats. Welp, immediately I wrote this, it was all part of the plot to get you progressed and thats exactly what it looked like to me lmao! Games amazing
Having read this arc in the 20th Century Comics imprint of Marvel Comics Aliens, I like anything that expands on he 30 pages in 30 days monthly issues.
I got stuck 'forgetting which was my skeleton key'.. when I restarted and the tutorial reminded me (how to break the glass panels) I felt pretty silly. - but loved remaking progress. I started to feel that the first hour or so of gameplay was 'more or less on rails'.. and then the last two patches showed me - NOPE. anytime I find a tactic, the team show me their efforts to keep the game truly dynamic. They literally watch for exploits and return the game to fun with 'gameplay' .. on hard, I used to be able to play for ~ an hour at a time (single life)... now..? I barely make the next checkpoint, and find myself reattempting even 'super early' game segments. AWESOME
game is not wrong but i wish me a AvP in vr where i can play all 3 fractions, special the predator in vr play must be cool .... or alien game where you meet riplay and co or the team from movie 2 hicks and co
as a gamer who lost their VR legs doing VR barrel rolls in Ace Combat; I have avoided all reprojection games and even Synapse and Red Matter 2 (120fps native) have me feel queasy. I play for hours daily in this game.. (30-40 hours on clock now). Sure I use snap turn, and vignette when running, but this is such an easy play experience.. The repro in this game observable if you make it so... but avoidable as well.. (no need to read text on edge of screen objects, in your hand, whilst moving hands left and panning camera right, etc) in actual gameplay this is one of the easiest VR games I have enjoyed. akin to Pistolwhip and Synthriders, for me.
here is the idea for good vr game like that. there is a branch of lines in game like "supermassive games" doing. a team of characters and theyre act like its a movie, you shoot, react fast to a dinamic scenes and save/not save youre teammates. and there is a constant shooting and impressive scenes made by motion capture and stage directoring, as its a movie. bang bang you miss, youre teammate is dead. only 7 left, and theyre acting by branch where that one dude with minigun is dead
a youre alpha team leader girl that look like diss from starship troopers scream on radio - mayday mayday, weare ambushed and requesting backup. there is an alien creatures atacking team, we have 3 men lost.😮" and base ship says - affirmitive, bravo team is boarding descent ship with heavy weapons, landing at 3 minutes. confirm. and you shooting alien, retreat!!! retreat!!! she screams. someone screams trowing a grenade! im out of ammo!!! in a fog and screams AAAAAGH 👻 And here comes bravo team with miniguns. you pick rpg, grenade lounchers. and aliens retreat. you moving to apc of gamma team that is not responding. everyone in apc are missing and got by face with that miny aliens etc. bam bam second alien atack. minigun dude is dead. rockets comes from main ship etc. 2 hours of dynamics and war with aliens dudes!!! that what vr needs
youre persone youve played is dead. you switching to rescue team at space ship and shooting heavy machine gun from above, bam, something hits a ship. youre buddy that cryed whyle descenting course he is too young etc and didnt wanted to sighn contract just felled off the descant ship to aliens etc... dynamic, screenplay, stage directoring etc like its an expensive movie 😴👍
and comes radio command from main ship - all survivors alpha, betta, delta, gamma team retreat and unite forces to location 25:67 all survivors tetta team, bulldog team, flash swat team - unite at position 45:18 and you trying to sneak to that position with survivors and there is only few tens left, one is borning alien from stomack. some dude is panicking. someone drinking whiskey etc. here comes command - snipers take positins in are. heavy machine gun position on that structure. here comes a fight, bang bang, you shooting as a sniper, out of ammo - alien behind you - you shoot with pistols. he is dead, another 3 aliens surrounding - out of ammo. SCREAM. dead. next point where tetta, bulldogs team etc. another fight, apcs cones from above. bang bang. you driving to aliens lair etc. bang bang, piiiiiiew rocket launchers - aliens ripped to pieces etc
and here is the end of that vr experience - BOSS is a that ripley yellow baby from alien 3 and you drop that boss at moment whyle ripley run from falling structure to you and youre teammate and teammate asks her - what are you doing in this series? 😮you suppose to be in next serie 😖 and its like you taking off vr helmet in vr, drop it on the ground and say - im tyred of this crap... 😳 and youre on an island picnic and there is youre superyacht docked near and there us a sighn "to be continue". and there is a shooting on youre yacht... and next experience is something like hitman or james bond or so experience from SONY
That's so crummy you left out, out of nowhere the last terminal before you return to Helen. You just completely skip going to the correct floor and everything. I was running around the map crazy trying to figure out why your hearing the queen sound and i wasn't. [BECAUSE YOU SKIP THE WHOLE FLOOR.] I appreciate the play through but please don't eliminate sections like that. I wasted lots of time and had to look up another player.
I love the Zula Hendricks stories from the comics, but this game has WAY too wobbly back and forth and tunnel vision at times, all gives me a migraine. Too bad because I'm interested in the story.
your head irl moves constantly. your eyes have a "gyroscopic" mechanism that let's you focus and lock your eyes in place, and for that reason you don't feel that irl.
The Xeno was introduced very early in the game and very underwhelmingly, too. In AvP2, it took 2 levels and many false jump scares before the first Xeno popped up. It seems like the guy making this video was more scared of firing the Pulse Rifle than the Xenos eating his face lol
I cant believe, with all the new tech we have for games, that games still, due to developers ofc, have to make bodies vanish. At 12:06, just why game devs? Why??? Its not 2003 anymore. Why??? Yes, it helps your game get more fps, i know i know, but its not that bad either. its like a lame excuse. Atleast here they come up with the excuse of the alien melting itself, which is also just dumb. Wouldnt they just melt as soon as they are born then? Still give GLP a like though.
vr is expensive on your gpu my friend. also no smooth gamplay=motionsickness and not everyone has valve team quality behind to optimize the game. they made it more accessible to lower end pc vr
@@mastermatt1171 ah okay, thats great for those who need that but what about those that dont want their immersion ruined? In this case though they semi got away with it. Sorry to say, but it doesnt make sense with lore though? or does it? do the aliens in the movies (sorry not gonna watch them again to verify XD I did try a google search but it didnt bring up anything useful) have their bodies melt after death? I dont recall it. It just seems like most games have this, yes to lower down the gpu, but then allow the option to have bodies stay longer or forever.
VR-FPS should be more *"keybord and mouse"* or more advanced than tonight. It's great to see all body in a game, but hold and maneuvre of a gun is preatty weird :/
Aliens just keep coming after me leaving almost no ammo, nor time to get what I need, while I’m lost here 1:45:53 can’t break those glass panels so I’m now here back again checking what the fuck to do, I’m on insane 1:46:24 oh well I didn’t notice that and of course more encounters and low ammo. I may have to restart when i get back to it. I’m getting a bit better tho I thought I could run back to save and I lost ammo cause I had to fight 5+ aliens just cause I wanted to see the other room at the end of the hall with the 3 batteries and vent, what did I get out of it? Just a bomb and most of my ammo wasted. Should’ve left it last. Edit. Sweet Jesus there was an actual checkpoint here 1:48:04 good cause I can’t easily fight 3 aliens in the dark hall area
this was jsut a crazy 'run and dash' run with intent to show fastest speed run. I sometimes 'take my time', but even if running through.. real world gameplay is A LOT LONGER than this.
this wasn't a playthrough, but rather a run and 'dash' through- ie the complete opposite as to how the game is meant to be played. I have thirty plus hours in, have barely scratched the game world,.. and thoroughly ENJOY every sequence and my playtime. I haven't yet done messages and 'story' ,.. figured that could be 'another run'.
vignetting is selectable for fast movement height traversal (eg falling/jumping) and maybe a few more... I was really impressed by the configurable play options. I have never used snap turn or vignetting during VR.. (Legendary Tales, snap turn, sometimes... (long play sessions)) I use both vignetting (some situations) AND snap turn in Alien RI, simply to enjoy playing for more hours each day. (30 plus hours logged so far) gotta get me my multiple play sessions daily (if I had the time) I went a day without playing, recently... I was up at 5am the next morning to make up for my missed gaming time. I have NEVER had a VR game this addictive.. PistolWhip maybe when I first got into console VR.. I would play until my calf muscles were sore. the comfort options this game has allows me to play this game for 4x longer than most other games. (and I use that advantage!) the vignetting is configurable too.. like how fast or slow the effect kicks in. (for each use case) Survios are long time VR devs and it really shows. easily the most confident VR product I own.
So... How come the xeno's need that much ammo to be dropped? The Pulse Rifle supposedly use explosive ammo that EXPLODE the xeno's. As seen in Aliens. Yet, here I see one xeno taking half a magasine in the face before dropping.
that'd be the 'under fire' grenade launcher? (pretty sure Ripley wanted the 'full tour' and told Hudson(?) "you started it" (not verbatim) and was taught to be a badass. as much as I love the M41-a (enough reason to buy this title); being overpowered isn't as much fun as mousing it... the lack of ammo (hard difficulty) really has a tight balance and enforces a LOT of gameplay. pure fun. my session this morning, an 'easy' section early in the game (~ 1 hour mark), and I could not make progress. lack of ammo enforced me to play differently. was my own fault.. I had run n gunned earlier section, made a save point with basically zero resources.. and I was determined to push on. figuring I knew what I was doing; I would be 'alright'. nope. in the end I started to explore side rooms and overturning every box and lifting every hat etc.. (desperate for some ammo) got to a point I was using the welding torch as a weapon. when I finally found a few m41a clips in a locked cupboard, after four solid attempts, I let out a literal 'yelp' of joy. "jackpot" happy camper. (died shortly thereafter, and walked away saying "fantastic game") 30-40 hours of gameplay in, and not anywhere near finishing. multiple save games, enjoying any progression I make. no issue redoing a key sequence due to enemy Ai diversity. I platinumed Killzone Mercenary on the PS Vita due to the exceptional enemy AI, and diversity. This game is the first I have come across in yonks that reaffirms gaming is still relevant 'to me'.
VR is probably a cool experience for the one playing, but as a video for others to watch, it is... annoying. Motion sickness is a good way to describe it.
@@HeyJoeHUN81-PCRPGCommunity Did I say that? Did I say that this applies to every soul on the planet who plays a video game? If you use a tiny ounce of brainpower, you could probably come to the conclusion that the experience for the one who is actually playing the game, you know... moving the character around, with head, hands and what not, would more than likely experience it differently than the people who watch it as a video. You know, like we do right now... sit on a chair, head positioned, looking straight at a screen. We see those tiny chat boxes, bounce around in weird angles, trying to read it, while the player who is moving around with head, probably wouldn't have an issue, since the chat box moves accordingly with the players head. See... what I mean? Yeah? No? Oh well... Merry Christmas anyways.
I’ve been playing VR for seven years. I’ve never experienced motion sickness. I’ve been playing this game over the last couple of days on pcvr and it’s a great experience.
wow- trying to watch this is nearly impossible. given I have thirty plus hours on this (playstation using 'reprojection')- I have seldom had a nauseous moment.. this video is so far from indicative of the play experience or title. certainly an older build.. (Survios have six patches out in first two weeks alone) game now has incredible AI, traversal, and mechanics. body spots defaults better suit reliability I used to be able to push for an hour of gameplay on 'hard', now I can barely survive any given sequence. dynamic fun, and hugely replayable due to exceptional AI and traversal. 1.06 patch seems to have the Xenos able to flick tail when jumping in air etc.. (they utilise their bodies properly now) and the way the game keeps mixing it up,.. no two play experiences are the same. I love coming to this game every chance I get.. it plays like Call of Duty, and I just want to redo key action sequences (I have save games at key points to do so).. the graphics improved hugely (patches). the gameplay improved hugely (patches),.. and I would never spend all my time attempting to run and dash. this is a speed run, and is probably the worst way to experience the title. the actual game is really fun, enjoyable at slow or fast pace.. but even at a fast pace,.. the dash is for dodging.. not 'getting to the end in record time' (and making audience feel queasy in the process)
apologies.. selecting a few random spots in video shows that sometimes there is casual play happening,.. (but also 'edits' to cut out time lost to investigation). I appreciate the efforts of the video being done. but I also experience, daily, a game "very different to this". updates have barely begun rolling out (six so far, but a 'roadmap' towards product evolution and plans is due out shortly) Survios have fast become one of my favorite publishes. (they care and support end users')
I love this game, but is it just me or is the HDR implementation on the OLED headset quite poor? OLED should output pure black, but with Alien Rogue Incursion, even if I turn the brightness down all the way to the left, the black levels simply won't go any darker. There are no blacks in this game.....only dark grey. As great as the game looks, everything looks kind of washed out and desaturated with very little contrast between dark and light. Any thoughts?
Survios have made thereabouts ten VR titles using unreal engine. masters of their craft. high contrast range is easiest way to get people nauseous in VR. Probably that. I calibrate montiros and TVs (and use reference OLEDs). game is fantastic, but true, my brightness is generally around 42% mark. fourth patch seems to have given proper occlusion and shadowing. game looks and plays MUCH better (two weeks after release we have SIX patches) Survios are fantastic
Gotta remember “short controlled bursts marine”

(game has longevity due to 'call of duty'-esque shooting sequences- I keep multiple save games at 'fun points', and enjoy starting each new patch that comes out, basically every other day, and love seeing how far I can get on a life etc)
Weirdly this 'playthrough' is more of a 'run and dash through' and seems like set to super easy.
Although that being said the difficulty, on hard, has gone up very noticeably with newer patches..
(better enemy Ai, traversal and transistions, and tactics..)
For me this is the perfect VR games and I don't play survival horror genre games usually past the 'calm intro sequences'.
Aliens? let me at em'
Weak been playing for 8 hrs
As claustrophobic as regular Aliens FPS games are, doing one in VR, basically turns it into a twelve-change of underwear trip.
Love how people are slagging this game off on steam based on the MC, I have been tempted many times to comment saying how the MC is from the dark horse comics and are the ones that saved ripley
would love to see amanda ripley and alec bran in part two
@ most likely you won’t as this is probably a spin off based on the series and made sense for them since there’s a second isolation game in development
(what colour should the bottle be so that vocal whingers don't claim 'oh you are pandering to 'someone else')
As a parent who moved hundreds of kilometres to get my child into a special school that ENCOURAGED THIS, I can now no longer relate with my child. (nor 'them' with the world.. )
I know I have failed as a parent to instill survival values on to the next generation.. but 'they' are very creative and artistic,..and for some reason -"still not happy in the slightest".
They probably miss Vasquez. She had that good real bad-girl energy that this character is lacking.
You should use your motion tracker more often to see where the Xenomorph are coming from
I've been playing the same game for a little bit and kind of hard to use the tracker when the aliens at times just pop out of nowhere.
They mostly come at night. Mostly.
This game is so damn good. Seriously one of the best VR games of the year - the atmosphere is second to none
good in a lot of aspects, but the map and quest marker pointers should really be fixed, this is like the 15th time i've had to revisit this walkthrough just to get through the game.
(perhaps THEY should give it a try~) ~smiles with`
No one ever wondered why a station like that has a gazillion panic rooms? :)
yep; the dialogue line when the main character finds the first panic room; exceptional 'tone of voice' raising the question; builds suspense.
lien Rogue Incursion on PSVR2, and wow, what an intense experience! The immersive atmosphere and high-stakes gameplay really put you in the shoes of a survivor trying to outsmart alien threats
Lmao you must be a bot. 🤣

Thanks you for this video, I don't have VR si many thanks to you, it's will be an pleasure to watch you play and to discover this beautiful Aliens Game
I am so excited for a Working Joe character.
No it’s weyland
Thats Davis He’s a Weyland Yutani combat Synth
Inside of all those random cardboard boxes you can find a lot of ammo and sometimes health. Always move stuff and check inside. It’s hidden under safety helmets as well.
Am I the only one who hates the minimal recognition this game is getting
Been playing for like 4 hours total, came here to see how far I am, 1 hour and 30 minutes in 💀
Also, many may have forget that but... technically speaking, Zula and David-1 have kinda a story. I mean, after the events on USCSS Europa, Zula fell in love with David.
They can technically have a relationship by the times of this game.
Davis* :P David would be a very bad android to fall in love with.
@thomasjoychild4962 yup, sorry. My phone auto-correct me. 😅
My favorite thing is being able to put on the hard hats and caps lol
It'd be cool if Alien games used a similar Geo-Mod technology to Red Faction 2, where if their acid burned through the floor you could travel through it to descend to other/hidden levels.
I will probably get next year a VR set for that game, hope for a few good other missions, they gave lots of assets to re-use in different configurations i would think.
Overall nice story, great twists and turns, but some plotholes and lore inaccuracy is irritating. Especially about acidic blood being nearly harmless apparently 😢
This campaign would be a great co-op experience, i hope they add it in the future.
For example:
A copy of the Android on the tablet and in a new seagson android body, controlled by another player.
(this is 100% AlienS!)
Alien is the contrast of white and black, Ridley Scott/Cinematography where darkness represents death, and light, 'life'; Aliens is James Cameron- big budget actionfest.
This game is not 'be the mouse' (Alien)
This game is be the badass (Aliens)
If it had been named Aliens, people wouldn't have marked review scores down for 'not being Isolation 2'.
This is the best VR game I have ever played.

I suppose it is just 'Dark Horse' universe part x?
There is a lot of cannon that runs parallel to this. (Amanda Ripley is our contact point in the 'local' area)

When I want again some more intense and tactical fights in a Single-Player experience, Aliens: Dark Descent is also an awesome option to play!
You can wipe the blood off screens by using a swiping motion with your hand.
When I play I'm going to say lets rock!!!!!!!!!!
Jist jank it not yank you gotta jank it out twist and pull. Lmao the torch was a nice touch but the spine doesn't melt 😂
You have my sympathies 🤖
VR makes me nauseous so I appreciate videos like this! Only way I could enjoy Alyx as well.
Have to watch this in increments as it is motion sickness 3000/
Have you ever looked up at how to overcome motion sickness in vr? There are some guidelines that help a lot, i can play intense games for hours now without a problem
Try holding a pulse rifle one handed with the motion tracker in the other see how you get on lol.
I definitely want to try this out, same for my nephew he too should try this out.
I was so excited when i saw this trailer, then realized it is vr only 😅
Shame
My wife just got a PSV2 today on sale for Christmas. It's $350 instead of $600 right now. Literally just bought this for it. Nothing wrong with VR.
@chadmcdeadlift6792 very nice!
So why don't you use the motion tracker?
Would have preferred this as a
Mouse / Keyboard FPS
instead of a VR-FPS.
Agree :)
no way.
being able to look down sights and hip fire, and point the motion tracker one way and fire in another are aspects of playing IN 3D space.
4:10:37 Is the floor acid proof? I don't see any of the acid blood making holes.
acid etch does a nice job altering floor 'tiles'.
better than any 'bump mapping' or GPU/mathmatically cheap way to employ such effects.
open world segments and corridors with no loading screens between is impressive.. but if Xeno 'blood' was true to lore,.. no game engine or 'standard PC hardware' would render that game world.
Game devs would have a nigh impossible time to build a tight game
sure it would be a 'fun mechanic'..
but just like the start of Joss Wheedons ' Alien 4 (Twohy script moved to Riddick series, I believe)..
I like the atmosphere! but the game looks like it’s a little clunky
Buy it and play it! This game is worth it.
Interesting. I'm not sure I've even heard of this one.
Having read this arc in the 20th Century Comics imprint of Marvel Comics Aliens, I like anything that expands on he 30 pages in 30 days monthly issues.

Stealth release! Love me some Alien games!
Well, all it takes is one. Better start getting ready to set the nuclear reactor to overload. 😮
I hope someone comes out with a mod for this game to make it playable without having to need VR to be able to play it
Why not get a VR headset? I’m only playing VR games since I have one.

AWESOME
With that price tag, I'd have expected a lot more gameplay than only 4 hours.
It’s longer then you think a lot of back tracking and getting lost
game is not wrong but i wish me a AvP in vr where i can play all 3 fractions, special the predator in vr play must be cool .... or alien game where you meet riplay and co or the team from movie 2 hicks and co

For real, prolly doesn't feel like that in the game though since you can't see an edge to the screen like we do.

as a gamer who lost their VR legs doing VR barrel rolls in Ace Combat; I have avoided all reprojection games and even Synapse and Red Matter 2 (120fps native) have me feel queasy.
I play for hours daily in this game.. (30-40 hours on clock now).
Sure I use snap turn, and vignette when running, but this is such an easy play experience.. The repro in this game observable if you make it so... but avoidable as well.. (no need to read text on edge of screen objects, in your hand, whilst moving hands left and panning camera right, etc)
in actual gameplay this is one of the easiest VR games I have enjoyed.
akin to Pistolwhip and Synthriders, for me.

here is the idea for good vr game like that. there is a branch of lines in game like "supermassive games" doing. a team of characters and theyre act like its a movie, you shoot, react fast to a dinamic scenes and save/not save youre teammates. and there is a constant shooting and impressive scenes made by motion capture and stage directoring, as its a movie. bang bang you miss, youre teammate is dead. only 7 left, and theyre acting by branch where that one dude with minigun is dead

youre persone youve played is dead. you switching to rescue team at space ship and shooting heavy machine gun from above, bam, something hits a ship. youre buddy that cryed whyle descenting course he is too young etc and didnt wanted to sighn contract just felled off the descant ship to aliens etc... dynamic, screenplay, stage directoring etc like its an expensive movie 😴👍
and comes radio command from main ship - all survivors alpha, betta, delta, gamma team retreat and unite forces to location 25:67 all survivors tetta team, bulldog team, flash swat team - unite at position 45:18 and you trying to sneak to that position with survivors and there is only few tens left, one is borning alien from stomack. some dude is panicking. someone drinking whiskey etc. here comes command - snipers take positins in are. heavy machine gun position on that structure. here comes a fight, bang bang, you shooting as a sniper, out of ammo - alien behind you - you shoot with pistols. he is dead, another 3 aliens surrounding - out of ammo. SCREAM. dead. next point where tetta, bulldogs team etc. another fight, apcs cones from above. bang bang. you driving to aliens lair etc. bang bang, piiiiiiew rocket launchers - aliens ripped to pieces etc
and here is the end of that vr experience - BOSS is a that ripley yellow baby from alien 3 and you drop that boss at moment whyle ripley run from falling structure to you and youre teammate and teammate asks her - what are you doing in this series? 😮you suppose to be in next serie 😖 and its like you taking off vr helmet in vr, drop it on the ground and say - im tyred of this crap... 😳 and youre on an island picnic and there is youre superyacht docked near and there us a sighn "to be continue". and there is a shooting on youre yacht... and next experience is something like hitman or james bond or so experience from SONY

The Xeno was introduced very early in the game and very underwhelmingly, too. In AvP2, it took 2 levels and many false jump scares before the first Xeno popped up. It seems like the guy making this video was more scared of firing the Pulse Rifle than the Xenos eating his face lol
Yea the gameplay quality was just as underwhelming as the game itself. Sometimes I wonder if it's some kind of rage-bait honestly.
I agree it was introduced way too quicly and without a suspence
Part 2? Wtf... thay will release game in parts..
(desperate for some ammo)
got to a point I was using the welding torch as a weapon.

This game is the first I have come across in yonks that reaffirms gaming is still relevant 'to me'.
You do know you have a head torch in this game? 😂
Wait part two? Is this gonna be a dlc continuation or they making a different game
VR is probably a cool experience for the one playing, but as a video for others to watch, it is... annoying. Motion sickness is a good way to describe it.
So, you think who plays, don't get motion sickness even more easily? Oh, well...
@@Quest4Horror I figured as much.
I dont get any motion sickness by watching these. I guess not all get it
34:43 wipe the blood off the monitor.
Why cant they do a aliens fireteam elite vr style game
2:39:49 every time I try this my game keeps freezing. Anybody know a fix?
You on PC and if so what’s your specs?
@johnnyappleseed8127 no ps5 vr
iT LOOKS LIKE DOOM 3 2003 with sikkmod and Absolute HD Enhanced MOD pack 😃
wow- trying to watch this is nearly impossible.
given I have thirty plus hours on this (playstation using 'reprojection')- I have seldom had a nauseous moment..
this video is so far from indicative of the play experience or title.
certainly an older build.. (Survios have six patches out in first two weeks alone)
game now has incredible AI, traversal, and mechanics.
body spots defaults better suit reliability
I used to be able to push for an hour of gameplay on 'hard', now I can barely survive any given sequence.
dynamic fun, and hugely replayable due to exceptional AI and traversal.
1.06 patch seems to have the Xenos able to flick tail when jumping in air etc.. (they utilise their bodies properly now)
and the way the game keeps mixing it up,.. no two play experiences are the same.
I appreciate the efforts of the video being done.
but I also experience, daily, a game "very different to this".
updates have barely begun rolling out (six so far, but a 'roadmap' towards product evolution and plans is due out shortly)
Survios have fast become one of my favorite publishes. (they care and support end users')
Not the full game....its part 1
I calibrate montiros and TVs (and use reference OLEDs).
game is fantastic, but true, my brightness is generally around 42% mark.
fourth patch seems to have given proper occlusion and shadowing.
game looks and plays MUCH better (two weeks after release we have SIX patches)
Survios are fantastic
