Bill your a good example to all of us about keeping sensible sized cichlids , I myself keep larger fish but I feel really this is the way your going to see much more natural behaviour in fish , and ultimately have happier fish , good for you 👍
Thanks Liam, I do keep larger fish too, but the biggest tank I can fit in the fishroom is 4 foot, I have kept pairs of jags etc in a 4 foot quite happily, but that’s all you can keep the same n them - and you do have to separate them if the aggression level gets too much.
I wouldn’t, the Cubans can be very aggressive, and get up to 10-12 inches. The Cutteri are mild mannered in comparison, only aggressive when spawning/guarding fry.
@@BillsCichlidRoom hmm this leads me to believe that the individual i kept not too long ago was unusually aggressive for its kind. that fish terrorized both my acara and my ellioti cichlid nonstop until i removed him [ the ellioti passed away from the stress ]
@@amazingaquaticsandexotics3030 it can happen with a rogue fish, my Cutteri hold their own with similar sized fish, same as the rainbows, but wouldn’t last 5 minutes with Cuban or Parachromis.
Bill i could listen to you all day mate you know your stuff man

Bill, minimum tank for one pair cutterri&one pair neetroplus nematopus ?
How many liters?
Greetings from Poland
Hi, the Neets can get aggressive when spawning, so you would need 200 litres 120cm tank for the two pairs.
