I don't know how to read chords nor tabs. I only learn by looking. I learned this song 12 years ago and today maybe this is the only song that I can play on a guitar. I wish this tutorial came 12 years ago. Right on point and beginner friendly. Wonderful work, subscribed.
Thanks Rob . A very under-rated band , I have around twenty three of their albums . That , Buck Dharma chappy is fantastic , as were the rest of the original line up . I read somewhere that they hold the record for the most live concerts , over six thousand . Asia and , Yes are two other favourites , especially , The Clap by Steve Howe from the simply titled , Yes Album . That would take me some work to learn . lol . I hope that you are well .
Another great lesson of an iconic song, thanks Rob - Question, I am thinking of buying a Hofner 500/1 Violin bass, just wondered if you rate them at all!
The intro is made up of one power chord and three diads with an easier picking pattern: DDDU/DDDD/DDDD/DDDD.The power chords during the verse are palm-muted.
@@fennahrob6934 No I know that, but it wouldn't hurt to hold the full chords, instead of the partials. Because you already know those chords from muscle memory.
More Cow Bell!!!!

Wow, neat blue guitar! ❤😊
Power chords don’t have a third so they are neither minor or major which is quite convenient
Thanks, have thought about having a look at this for donkeys. you are class Mr Rob.

Great song. Apparently was written in 1976 but sounds much more modern than that!
I remember when it was released and I still love to listen to that iconic riff.
It's as iconic as hotel California, baker's Street.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt if you held the chords while playing the notes.
These ‘are’ the chords.
