Hey bud take that silver jig and take all the hooks off tie it to the end of your line then every foot and a half tie in a shiny fly with some colour not a lot of feather or wool just enough to catch there eye! Tie in four or five of these flys with small hooks and try that it works amazingly well up here in western Canada I/e B C coast! Tight lines I think you will be pleasantly pleased! ❤. PS works great for herring to!
Yeah it cab be pretty snaggy like...I tend to bait fish from the area of the pier called the blocks...the end closest to the end of the pier...if you give it a good thump you should hit smooth ground like...and yeah seaham is a nightmare for loosing gear

Hi,great video. I just wondering is mackerel season finished already or is it still chance to catch them at South Shields pier? What do you think is it worth it to travel there for 3hr?
Ahh yeah I'd say there still in full flow...I just picked a terrible day haha was a different story there today...Best if go a few hours before High...bring plenty daylights and leads.....go right off the end of the pier and you will catch plenty

I would recommend that you put a narrower piece of mackerel on and just hook it on one end so that it flaps around in the water
