I love that triple black 69 it reminds me of my friend sonnys car identical his was a true ss 350 4 speed i love a 69 with a vinyl top i love the way the molding goes above the driprail on the 69 . They were all great looking cars you built. Its sad what it cost today compared to what you could get them for 30 years ago im glad your feeling better

@@johnrittle4165 Hello, I always try to show budget builds because I don’t have a lot of money to spend on these projects. They can come out good but it’s definitely trial and error so try it out on a big scrap piece and you can make adjustments as you go before you lay it down on your project. Hi Al I painted my 1969 Firebird about 4 years ago with Rust-Oleum paint I was happy how it came out but I'll be honest with you knowing what I know now I would have just painted with a cheap like single stage for the prices on Rustoleum now my opinion is it would just make more sense and buying automobile paints it comes from Estonia is pretty expensive now I still use Rust-Oleum to paint the inner structure of a car also the bottom of a car and also the firewall and many other parts including the engines thank you for a great video like always

@@johnrittle4165 Hello, I used what the manufacturer recommended on the hardener and gloss but as far as the thinner you have to play around with that a little bit. I would thin it out in a quart container and stir it for a bit and would take out the stirring stick out and let it drip for about 5 seconds and if it stopped steaming and start to slowly drip it was usually ready to go. I would use a cheap harbor freight gun about $15. It would work great but unfortunately it’s so hard to clean. You’re just better off throwing it out. I hope this helps. Please let me know.
