I'm a Dolphins fan. The Dolphins assembled great players around Tua and really nothing special. As another poster stated: Zero playoff wins. Injuries 3/4 of the years he has been in the league. Horrible record against playoff level teams. Poor statistics when trailing in the 4th quarter. Against bad teams Tua is fun to watch and pads his statistics against good teams he is just sad. Don't do a Danial Jones Deal and regret it.
Completely untrue. We can let him play out the fifth year option this season and revisit this next year, and if we still have questions or concerns we can franchise tag him twice giving us 3 more years with Tua as qb1.
Meaning we have him for 3 more years without having to pay him the huge contract. we do not have to pay him huge dollars or move on there’s more options.
@@shtayve you forget that if Miami does that and he continues to improve like he has every single year, Miami has to pay him much more than they do right now. That's exactly how we lost Wilkins
@@ZGh0st1422 so what? If he actually balls out wins mvp and takes us to at least afc championship game and doesnt choke in the big moments and it costs us 55ms instead of 50ms per year, who cares. He would have finally shown us he is our true franchise qb and we can feel comfortable with not only the long term deal, but a big dollar deal. If he wins us a Super Bowl pay him 60ms a year fully guaranteed idc.
One good healthy season under his belt. Zero playoff wins. Injuries 3/4 of the years he has been in the league. Horrible record against playoff level teams. Poor statistics when trailing in the 4th quarter. Would offer him 40 million a year and not a penny more.
I agree that 40 mil should be good enough to extend Tua. But guys like Herbert haven’t won a playoff game either and he’s still one of the highest paid QBs. Kirk has like one playoff win under his belt along with injuries and is getting paid 45 mil now. Also trailing in the 4th quarter, just like winning playoff games is more of a team stat than a player stat
As Fans we should not worry because the cap will continue to raise and when it’s times for CJ Stroud to get paid we might be looking at the first 60 million dollar QB so it’s gonna keep going up
That's what a franchise tag is for, let him play it out. He barely finished a single season, I think he is a fun watch but panics too quickly after their timing routes are off. I think his coach could elevate another QB to the same level or higher. Ultimately the team needs to decide who made who? Coach or QB, if coach then I move on start looking now sit the youngster for a year.
Tua has a 32-19 record. He should be paid $60 Million/yr if its all good for Trevor Lawrence to be laid $50+ Mill/yr with a 20-30 record and Jordan Live whose 9-9. These two guys arent at Tua's level. Get back to me when they have 30 Wins under their belt. Joe Burrow doesnt even have 30 Wins. Hes 1 shy So, this conversation should be about whether Trevor or Jordan should be paid now, NOT Tua. Tua is a year past due. Trevor and Jordan need to show more and Win more.
Cool.. what is Tua's record vs good teams? He hasn't been to the sb or win a post season like goff. Tua is lost without Hill. Once he goes off script he loses.

Tua is one concussion away from never playing football again! Three concussions on his resume not including a plethora of other injuries and he’s gonna want guaranteed money!! So Miami should just jump off a bridge and pay him all this money? You see what Cleveland is going through.
Tf does that even mean? Dude's answered every question that was asked from health to stats to playoff births. The new question is playoff wins. He deserves his money. 50M? Idk and I'm a fan of his but 50Ms is a big ask but the market is what it is

👍👏👏👏👏
They'll never sign him for only $50 million per year. That was last year's rate.
Haha the word is anxious
I wouldn't give him more than 40.. 35 is where i say it should be
100% agree…

They basically have no choice. Either give him a new contract or start from square one again at the QB position.

I don't like it, I think QB salaries are outrageous at this point, but the market will out.

franchise tag would hurt us cause of the cap #... his cap # would be lower if they give him an extension
