I have been maining daredevil staff for 2 years now, and it's safe to say that it's still my favourite playstyle atm, love the ability to dodge 5 times in a row. Together with the Relic of Isgarren, this playstyle has been given an upgrade as well.
Uhh, I see double staff thief and I like it. A double staff perma-evade (the evades of staff + Withdraw + Roll for Initiative + Dagger storm) thief was basically my main wvw char for a while. But as a roamer, not zerg fights. It was always kinda cheap I guess, but it just was so much fun to play.
I love staff DD so much, thanks for putting it in the spotlight a bit. I definitely think it has it's place in WvW outside of GvGs, it's so good at finishing downs and helping with that initial melee spike.
I'm trying the build and just realized something. You'd often have two different sets of weapons with most classes so you can swap them and keep attacking while your first set is on cooldown, right. With Thief that's just goes out the window, cause you use initiative instead of cooldowns... so basically you get the benefit of different sigils on the same weapon, or sigils that proc when you switch sets (but same weapon) without waiting on any cooldowns. mind=blown!
Thoes new changes to Staff on 28th Bountiful Theft: This trait now grants additional might to allies when stealing from a target with no boons Debilitating Arc: This skill now grants access to Helmet Breaker for a duration of time. Helmet Breaker: Leap at your foe, dealing damage and inflicting the dazed effect. Dust Strike: This skill now reflects projectiles and strikes foes in a circular area instead of in a frontal cone.
I've been holding off from reading all the notes till I have the time but those sound nice. I'll still prob mostly play S/D thief and DD but I can see myself using staff more in the coming future. I wish they would cut down on the staff 5 skill lag just a tiny bit. If your ping is 100+ or your fighting a map queue sized boon blob with siege all over it can be tough to be accurate with it. Which is why I don't really play with staff much. Thanks for posting that btw. GLHF
hi vallun huge watcher of your content :)....I'm new to mmo's in general so I wanted to ask how you move like that with non action camera cause if i try to do it i mash buttons and screw things so any tip or advice would be appreciated.
its all about that de staff. the offensive boon support is top tier. btw what server you on? im on dr and wondering if i've ever seen you without knowing it
It's not a bad build and pretty fun but when it's laggy it can be annoying trying to land where you want to with much precision. I def can't play this on my EU account(I'm from the NE of the US)but on my NA account if you're not fighting a huge map queue boon blob you can clap with it. Sometimes you can throw in a Scorp Wire for some fun little wombo combos(figure them out your own though it's obvious the best combos to pull off with it)but if someone does it to me I'm hunting you :)
sometimes I believe Vallun could go into WvW naked and beat the shit out of enemy players. he is that good. for mere mortals this could go south pretty damn quick. last time I ventured into WvW as a Daredevil with a staff was before release of PoF...
Looks nice as a pug build but it will not be accepted by many organized zerg raid groups. To much mobility , not enought extra value, besides damage, added to the group. Lets hope the axe will have more aoe.

I'm pretty sure, if I vaulted straight into the zergs on my server, I would instantly melt. I mean, milliseconds.

The music is so good .. again
Ooh I can feel the burst from here too.
Nice video!
Seconding the praise for the music, I would appreciate the playlist!

This looks so much fun! (Also the music is slapping )
The mechanist at 6:16 lmao
I was just asking in the comment section on Jen's page about a video ( I may have watched your video from 2 years ago, a little too much😅)
I've been thinking to do this video for a while, but that comment helped me to finally decide to work on it xD
This is Vallun. Don't forget. 😂

i have a video called top 5 tips to improve mobility
this is the zany stuff that makes me love the game. your content is great!!
I like the music

sea of sorrows usually
truly this is the drunken master
He zergs around like a poledance master himself
Bro its impressive, it really is, but you can do similar thing with reaper with like 1/10th the skill / number of buttons.
is this build still performing well?
Mind if i get the name of the music playing in the vid?
that looks insanely fun tbh
Important to note is that Vallun plays the shit out of this game and you're not going to do as well as him 90% of the time.
such a great fun!

love this!
Its one of my builds too on WvW for a wile, ppl never knows how powerful a simple 4 key Build can be xD Its can Crit regulars 10k or 19k ez mode 🤣🤣
Damn nice damage!

Man... wish I could get more than 30 fps in zergs.
i dont think many people can lmao
Bit late but how do you have 22k health? In full marauders I get 18k
do you have the traits i take?
@@Vallun I do, taken from the link
@@hundredpercentx not sure then, other than the one trait in daredevil which gives you more hp
I love daredevil but in zergs compared to a berserker, holosmith, vindicator this build hits like a wet noodle...
bro didnt make it 2 seconds into the vid

Axe?
Theif gets axe in second half of SoTO
1 bonk = 1 kill, ez
Isnt this just the original version of the new vindi? Lol. Except vindi can give boons and leave trails and such for more dps. Plus vigor.
can vindi teleport though? wait... it can :(
@@Vallun shiro... harder to get out, but sadly there is a reason staff thief isn't a thing currently.
