Original lawyer was probably paid off. That's probably how she got ahold of the inheritance in the first place and why she was so convinced the lawyer would back her up.
@@gerble36 Still would have left a paper trail. If the lawyer did get paid off, he's risking losing his license. Check with the banks that paid Stepmother's son's tuition. They had to have receipts on the transaction, thereby proving that stepmother's family didn't have the money to pay for it.
The attorney that handled this inheritance fu*ked up real bad. Op's money should have been put in a Trust until she was 18. SM should never have had access to that money. Everybody faintly involved such be arrested for theft and fraud. OP's Dad is just like all the other Dads in these stories who remarry and zone out when it comes to their bio kid(s) and let the SM pretty much do whatever they want with their stepkid.
Seriously!! And how did that cow get permission tk withdraw all that money and give it to her son anyway? The only way would be if someone impersonated OP and signed over the money to that bitch. This story needs an ending where that cow and her some are arrested for identytheft and fraud and stealing all tbag money
I hope they sue the ex stepmom to get every penny back and hope op gets her money back too, what an evil vile woman, the lawyer also better contact the son and tell him that money was stolen and he should stop spending it immediately, it's not his money. wishing op and her dad all the best.
If I were OP, I would've sued for the inheritance and moved out. It's clear her dad doesn't care about her either. If OP's dad believes her stepmom over her every single time, WITHOUT EVIDENCE, I might add, then he doesn't deserve to be called a father. It doesn't matter that OP isn't an adult. What she claimed was worth looking into, the fact that he didn't, and that he was ready to KICK OUT HIS OWN DAUGHTER, shows he doesn't care about OP. The aunt was a heroine here, and seems to be the only one who cares about OP.
Get the solicitor’s name from your aunt and get in contact with them. Then, if there is evidence of malfeasance of any sort, SUE WHOEVER IS TO BLAME FOR EVERYTHING THEY HAVE. How dare she!!! What a horrible person, I truly hope you win everything she has.
Sorry about that. My talk and text messed up and I was at work. What I meant to say, the lawyer and the aunt are irresponsible and liable for negligence. What kept this aunt from telling her brother that his daughter had an inheritance from her grandfather? And the lawyer should be disbarred for not using due diligence to talk to. After all, the aunt did say that she and the stepmother were both in the lawyers office during the reading of the will. The daughter said she was 18 years of age. This is negligence she should have sued their behinds off!
I think when her aunt talked to her about it and she didn't know anything about it, she should have gotten the brother and lawyer involved. I mean, in reality, it is within the father's right to send a proxy. However, that being said, there should have been documents... and yes; if the lawyer didn't have the documents, it looks super sketchy. Most lawyers know they could be disbarred by actively participating in such a scheme.
Op should have just consulted with the inheritance lawyer. That way, they could have exposed the stepmother that much sooner. Lawyer: Oh, I gave the money to your stepmom. OP: She already admitted to not giving it to me and spent it. Lawyer: Oh, that's inheritance theft. So she's going to jail.
OP..Find the Lawyer who handled your late Grandfather's Estate. Shut out the noise and have the lawyer handle everything for you. I have no idea what to say about your father!! He cannot be that dense!!
Why didn't OP get help from her aunt. Her aunt was a witness to the reading of the will. Op's aunt would have been very helpful in getting to the truth. This story makes no sense.
the lawyer might deny it, but it would of had to of gone through probate and if the lawyer did deny it they could lose their license. OP should also tell her aunt about that chat.
The stepmother thought she was so good in manipulating OP and her father that she couldn't see how anyone could discover what she had done. Obviously she was wrong. OP I hope you get your day in court disposing her and what she did
If only single parents could keep it in their pants, just for the sake of their kids' happiness & freedom from evil step parents! A miracle that would be!
So you have nothing to lose go to the lawyer and if he turns out to be as shady as she is get your aunt go to your dad and also record her bring it up all again and get her to say as much as you can get her to say again get it all on recording and then get that recording to your dad but if your grandfather had a a will then it had to be verified it had to be given to the courts so somewhere there is a copy keep looking
Find out your grandfather's lawyer and pay him a call. He SHOULD be able to let you know what's what and what you should do. If it turns out that step monster has ripped you of, DO NOT give into the age-old plaint"but faaamiiilyyy!". She has STOLEN from you and that is ILLEGAL AND SHE MUST BE PROSECUTED and everyone else who has been behind her!!!!! 'Nuff said.
lawyer up with another lawyer.. sue the step mom, the step son. the lawyer.. and the aunt. What money they owe you $1 billion dollars each for their involvement. They'll wish they were in prison right then.
OP, you need a backbone. The first thing you should have done was take your Aunt up on her offer to help. Together you could have gone to the lawyer and gotten a copy of the will. You could have gone to the courthouse and gotten a copy. Why take everything the long way around. Now what you do is sue the pants off that crook for the inheritance plus pain and suffering. Filling fraud/embezzlement charges, do something.
OP should contact the lawyer (if she can) who handled the inheritance. Not sure how stepmom got a hold of it (different country different laws maybe) but OP would of had to sign paperwork and if the signature was forged then dear ole stepmom would end up in jail.
Just throwing her out didn't solve anything other than she's not around any more I do hope they press charges and made her give back what was left and made to repay all that was spent
Most likely they're in the process of doing so, along with the divorce proceedings. Since she's guilty of inheritance theft, it's very likely she won't be getting any of her husband's assets or alimony. She will be spending some time in jail, her son will be expelled from college since the money to pay for his tuition is stolen and they'll both have to pay it all back.
Here’s an idea for the kid, if this story is real, go to grand dads will lawyer, right from the moment you find out, freeze everything that relates to wicked stepmother, even stuff that’s dads and anything with home, and keep digging til it’s found. Much faster than doing it on your own.
Parents need to listen to the kids when they say they’re having problems with their step parents they need to hear both sides. They need to start thinking with their brain not a certain body part.
This is an education problem... Someone should not be able to graduate high school without knowing that wills are public records and how they can be obtained...
Very likely. Taking someone's inheritance and ignoring the terms of the will is a lawsuit. It's basically theft and if the amount is substantial, (such as in OP's case), then it could be seen as a felony. OP should have consulted her grandfather's lawyer and that Stepmother was too stupid to realize that her taking the inheritance would have left an obvious paper trail. 1-How would Stepmom explain her son's college tuition? They would have receipts and where the money came from. 2-Lying that it came from her family wouldn't work since the bank would tell the court where the money came from, ie: from the inheritance lawyer giving her custody of money. 3-The court would question stepmom's family and they would have said they didn't have the money. 4-If you think Stepmom is going to get anything out of the divorce, think again. Theft of his daughter's inheritance is more than enough to convince the divorce court to leave her with nothing.
Op don't be naive your father knew she was stealing the money and didn't care. Sue him. Sue her. Sue her kid. All of them committed fraud, theft, and extortion
She made better use of it. She stole her stepdaughter’s inheritance. That was never her money to begin with people like this, irritate me and make me a mad. Do you want money make it or merry a rich sugar, daddy
This was the last video I was notified for on my subscription page. I see you posted about 20 hrs ago. I am subscribed to three/four of your cannels and notify all. Hmmm. I checked if I was unsubscribed and nope I was still subscribed. I checked the bell and still all notifications. Hmmm. So I am writing this message. I don't know if I should unsubscribe, then resubscribe, reclick the bell, unclick and reclick the bell, or just do nothing. Any ideas?
Already based on the title, no way this is true. A person inheriting money or property has to be informed of the will reading. There’s no way only the stepmother would know about the inheritance. Moreover, it’s highly unlikely that the stepmother would be the trustee or executor of the estate.
Why do people never think of recording people's conversations they have why do people never think maybe you should go to the original attorney and go with your aunt because she was also there why do people not thinking of things why do people not suggest these things how come the father is that clueless is that much of a moron or just blind but I love😮
Actually I remember when cordless phones first came out I had the very first cordless phone I absolutely loved it however when my father got married to my stepmom, she took my for this phone from me needless to say I was very upset once my father got divorced from her I got the cordless phone back. However by the time I got it back cordless phones were everywhere.
My mom was taken in by her mother's brother and wife after her mother died when she was 4 months old. Her parents separated when mom was about 15. Her mother had her own child and sent mom away to work in the war plants. When my grandfather passed he had his will signed but mother witnessed, leaving everything to mom and her s-sister. My grandmother stepped in because they were only separated and not divorced she took most of his wealth for herself and my aunt leaving my mom with nothing. She never fought for her share because she valued her relationship with her sister more than the money. She should have received about $30K. Remember this was in the 1960s and a big house was only about $20k.
Get the original lawyer involved and criminally charge all involved!!!
Original lawyer fucked up bad by not involving op in the first place
Original lawyer was probably paid off. That's probably how she got ahold of the inheritance in the first place and why she was so convinced the lawyer would back her up.

go to your grandfather's lawyer and get some justice
Girl sue her and get your damn money back
OP: go to your granddad's lawyer and have him do a forensic audit
I hope OP sued the stepmom for all of the money!
I hope they sue the ex stepmom to get every penny back and hope op gets her money back too, what an evil vile woman, the lawyer also better contact the son and tell him that money was stolen and he should stop spending it immediately, it's not his money. wishing op and her dad all the best.
Nta. Sue your stepmother and her son. She committed fraud and needs to go to prison.

First Step go to Grandpa's attorney Second Step go to the court and look up their records
Glad the father finally listen to his daughter and kicked out that horrible woman.
Dad deserves for OP to push him to fulfilling a Life Insurance Policy.
Sue her.
I'm a stepmother, I love my son, and happy my husband has allowed me to be a mom to my son. He is such an amazing kid. Full of confidence and humor 😂❤
The lawyer and your aunt are irresponsible, and liable for negligence.
Um..... What?
How exactly is the aunt liable for negligence? Just for hearing a will?
The lawyer yes, as for the aunt: if her brother sent her as hos proxy... she did nothing wrong.
Sorry about that. My talk and text messed up and I was at work. What I meant to say, the lawyer and the aunt are irresponsible and liable for negligence. The first step is finding the lawyer who handled your grandfather's will.
She should have went to grandfathers lawyer and explain the situation. Did OP get the money her grandfather left her back?
Op should have just consulted with the inheritance lawyer. That way, they could have exposed the stepmother that much sooner.
Lawyer: Oh, I gave the money to your stepmom.
OP: She already admitted to not giving it to me and spent it.
Lawyer: Oh, that's inheritance theft. So she's going to jail.
Wait, no answers about the money 😡
sue your step mom, your step brother for stealing your money and sue your dad for not believing you and believing that evil woman and her demon child
OP..Find the Lawyer who handled your late Grandfather's Estate. Shut out the noise and have the lawyer handle everything for you. I have no idea what to say about your father!! He cannot be that dense!!
No suing happened? How could OP have her money back?
Why didn't OP get help from her aunt. Her aunt was a witness to the reading of the will. Op's aunt would have been very helpful in getting to the truth. This story makes no sense.
EXACTLY. The moment she talked to her aunt, they should have talked to her Dad. That would have been ANYONE'S first idea.
the lawyer might deny it, but it would of had to of gone through probate and if the lawyer did deny it they could lose their license. OP should also tell her aunt about that chat.
If in the US all she had to do was go to the county courthouse where the will was filed to get a copy of it and then sue the lawyer and step-mom.
Get a copy of the will and show it to your dad and have him find out we're the money went
There must be a part 2!!! No consequences like arrest for the stolen inheritance?
She needs to sue thst woman and the boy. I know you can't get blood from a tulip but she will at least be punished for the heinous acts committed!
The stepmother thought she was so good in manipulating OP and her father that she couldn't see how anyone could discover what she had done. Obviously she was wrong. OP I hope you get your day in court disposing her and what she did
Record important conversations! Of course!
No lawsuit ? Wtf
If only single parents could keep it in their pants, just for the sake of their kids' happiness & freedom from evil step parents! A miracle that would be!

Did they ever get OP's money back? I think the lawyer needs to fess up to
lawyer up with another lawyer.. sue the step mom, the step son. the lawyer.. and the aunt. What money they owe you $1 billion dollars each for their involvement. They'll wish they were in prison right then.
Then what happened? Did she get the money back? Did stepturd go to jail?
OP should have gone to the lawyer with her aunt the day she found out
Speak to the original lawyer. Follow the money.
She did get away with it if she didn't sue her and actually got her money back.
Your doing great job and your going to be okay 👍😊❤
Gee then what happened 😆....kind of a waste of time listening to that
OP, you need a backbone. The first thing you should have done was take your Aunt up on her offer to help. Together you could have gone to the lawyer and gotten a copy of the will. Damn did she sue to get her inherent rights back it's her money so she should have gotten her money back
You caught my attention
Maybe OP could fulfill a life insurance policy for Stepmom???
Dang it! I was hoping there is more to the story
Wait, so the evil step mom and her son get to keep the inheritance money? Where's the lawsuit?
This story feels unfinished... I wanted her to have to go to jail, pay back all the money... get divorced and get NOTHING.
Contact the lawyer he will have proof
Some people are just out for money sadly.
Parents need to listen to the kids when they say they’re having problems with their step parents they need to hear both sides. They need to start thinking with their brain not a certain body part.
Cinderella as Thriller
As just as fictional. How/why would stepmom be the one with access to the account?
Get the aunt to help you shouldn't have refused to let her get involved!!!!
This is an education problem... Someone should not be able to graduate high school without knowing that wills are public records and how they can be obtained...
My stepmother stole my wedding dress and veil and probably sold it
So did she sue? Cause if not she definitely got away with it
Hopefully stepmom goes to jail.

Talk to your grandfather lawyers
Did OP get her money back?
Was she ever charged?
Get your money

Need an update now
I wanted to see the step mom forced to pay the money back. The end wasn’t satisfying
He wouldn't be able to legally throw stepmom out of the house. Made up story.
Why do people never think of recording people's conversations they have why do people never think maybe you should go to the original attorney and go with your aunt because she was also there why do people not thinking of things why do people not suggest these things how come the father is that clueless is that much of a moron or just blind but I love😮

What a waste of time, and unsatisfying ending.
First get a copy of the Will then go to the Police.
How do you get a copy of the will?
Copy of the will
Set up cameras

These stories are so poorly written. If Opie had evidence why didn't she take that to a lawyer?
I think this is fake or definitely missing a large portion of the story.
Disappointing story Mr. Redditor, I wanted to hear a story where in the update she got the money back.
I can't listen to any more of this stupid op. Who wants to be Sherlock Holmes the idiots. Don't even look in the most obvious area.
Story is bullsh1t. Go to the original lawyer to find proof of the inheritance and take it to the cops.
This story is idiotic, one visit to the estate lawyer, then a trip to the police or prosecutors office and the problem is over.

I would ask my dad about what happened to MY INHERITANCE!!
…and I’d have my aunt with me to vouch!! 🫤
