i've always dreamed of joining and graduating in the pma but i was not given a chance.i passed the entrance examination once in 1997 but i failed the med exam. i felt very sad that time because i know that i will not be able to join my dreamed academy and i cannot serve my country anymore. so for those pma cadets, be a good soldier when you graduate and live up your honor codes. don't be influenced by the dirty activities in the outside world caused by some crooked individuals especially in politics. serve your people with honesty and integrity. don't allow others to stain the good reputation of the academy. good luck cadets!
But sad to say crooked politicians has the power to control military activities.. these brave individuals has wholesome service to our motherland but i firmly believe that war on our own soil is just pure politics..i hope one day that these individuals will make a change
Every Filipino young man (and woman) who loves this Country and willing to dedicate his life, his character, his intelligence and his whole being to serve this Country should joint the PMA, to test his determination to serve this , his excellence mentally and physically to serve this country. The demands of firm discipline, courage, loyalty, integrity and intelligence of a young gifted Filipino should be tried at the PMA. With a humble soldier of a father, a Bataan Veteran who humbly accepted his duty as an Enlisted Man of the 1st Tabac Division, I learned what an upright, discipline Filipino solder should be. My elementary and most especially High School days were spent day dreaming that one day, I shall be wearing the impressive PMA Uniform, parading at the Camp del Pilar Grounds or better marching in cadence with the Entire Corp before the Luneta Grandstand to serve as the young aspiring AFP Officer on Independence Day. I wanted to be tops in both the military, academic and sports components of the PMA life. I was initially weak in Math even when my grades on freshman High School were formidable. But my Father advised me to master my Math. From being laughed at in Freshmen Math, I moved strongly to master and love Algebra & Physics, while maintaining my high standing in the rest of the subjects which I enjoyed most, including Filipino. But on that Christmas while in High School Senior Year, I was told by a senior Military Official in the Medical Corp based at V. Luna Hospital that my myopic eyes at 350 is automatically a disqualification. My childhood dream suddenly vanished just like that, with bitter tears rolling down my cheeks, in utmost frustration. I would have been part of PMA Class 1968, the same Batch as Defense Secretary Voltaire Gasmin and my UP-MBA Classmate Willy Nuqui ('68 Class Salutatorian). I continue to fanatically watch on TV the annual PMA Graduation and day-dream of what could have been my PMA life as the young soldiers march-in-review, year-after-after, had the Lord not intervene to provide me with an alternative better career. But if I were to be given another life at reincarnation, I will never hesitate to try to be the best PMAer, if not bid to be at the US Military Academy at West Point. Perhaps, I would finally serve this country through the military route rather than the blessed civilian life in senior management and Law that the Lord gave me as an alternative. My life without having joined the PMA was, from a candid perspective, was laden with financial security and reputation. But, there will always be days when I continue to daydream of that opportunity to be in the PMA. I had only one (1) occasion of getting inside the PMA campus and the emotions were overwhelming! Wildly, I whispered whether I can have the opportunity to teach, even without any financial remuneration, either Law, Strategic Business Management or Management Accounting as Elective Subjects for our PMAers.
