The fact Millen cars are faster than modern Pikes Peak cars comes from 3 reasons : 1. The available gears settings allowed me to adjust their top speed, as opposed to the IDR or the 208 2. They are as powerful as the IDR and 208 ; one big advantage of the IDR on actual Pikes Peak is that it does not looses power with altitude and this advantage is lost on this track. 3. The modder overestimated Millen cars a bit :)
You can use Assetto Corsa car tuner to lengthen the gears. It won't technically be stock, but as long as you don't change any other files, the only thing that will change is the length of the gears.
In the video VW ID.R is 10seconds slower than the 1998 McLaren. In real life in the festival of speed the VW ID.R is 1.7s faster than the 1998 McLaren(with the tyres of the era). Of course FOS doesn't have straits for top speed, but even so 10s is a lot on the short circuit.
i don't think using long straight circuit like Austria is a fair for comparison, as pikes peak cars are for downforce and don't have great top speed, Hungary might be a better track for comparison
Bruh the Quattro and 405 Pike's Peak cars boosted way higher numbers. The Quattro got up to +590hp on rally, on Pike's Peak was known to run closer to 800hp
This is cool and i appreciate you clarifying a few things in the vid. Its important to note this as just a fun experiment. The reality is F1 cars are always going to beat other disciplines in a track race. Thats what theyre designed to do. What makss motorsports cool is the disciplines. An unaltered F1 car would struggle enormously with Pikes Peak. Hypercars or old LMP1s arent as quick as F1 cars but an unaltered F1 car could never, ever, complete 24 hours of Le Mans. I think the most fun track comparison but hard to do in games would be peak superbikes vs f1!
It would've been cool to see how a midfield F1 car would compare to the best Pikes Peak car of the time. All the F1 cars here were race-winning and/or championship winning cars
The engines definitely weren’t at that level yet, pretty sure it was somwhere in the ballpark of 750-800 hp. The 1000 horsepower beasts were from 03-05.
I think in real life anything tajima drove would smoke an f1 in the short distance. The cars he drove had insane hp and torque even for pikes peak cars, though they were geared specifically for hill climbing and speeds under 200. I could see the f1s having a bit lower center of mass for cornering and much better performance on the long straights and eventually pushing ahead but not by nearly this much
So, you're saying the Pikes Peak winning car from 1998 is faster than the winners from 2018 and 2013? Forget the F1 comparison, that's what doesn't make sense to me
probably because the top speed was a bit higher. the peugeot topped out at 241 km/h. that’s a speed the f1 car would reach before halfway down the straight.
@@EmptyCheetosBag forget the F1 comparison. In the video, the 1998 Toyota Tacoma has the fastest time amongst all Pikes Peak winning cars. Ok, the Austrian GP is a different type of circuit, which favors top speed more than Pikes Peak. However... VW ID.R is one of the fastest cars around Goodwood and Nürburgring as well. @@mathieuaf25 technically it could but I dont see anyone willing to pay millions of dollars to get a halo spec car up the mountain. also im not sure about this but the cars need to have a fire extrinquisher iirc
You need to run F1 up the peak now. See if it handles the thinner air. Plus you should de doing timed comparisons where you are driving all the cars and set them up accordingly to where you are driving.
If the track has many corners and chicanes...no. F1 cars are FAR superior to every other car in that aspect, in fact thats where they make their times. Top speed they arent even as fast as the production cars anyone can own that go over 200mph. But their ability to corner with speed and use the kinetic energy to boost their engines power OUT of the corners is where itd make up all the ground and smoke the competition. To truly see what cars would be like against one another, youd need to have an AI trained SOLELY for that particular vehicle drive its absolute best possible lap and have another AI do the same except its only trained for the F1 car. Humans vary far too much in each run that its not a good enough sample.

Nah, the last race shows how unrealistic those cars are. The PP car's breaking distance should probably be twice that of the F1 Williams but isn't.
Both Millen cars seem a bit buffed indeed
Yeah most of the Pikes Peek mods are ripped models with questionable physics so it is really hard to compare them
@@fabulouscarcharts5467 The Tacoma was faster than the first 3 modern Pikes peak cars so yeah something is fishy
Yes they should at least be closer. I will adjust brake and grip for the hillclimb round

1:43 +5 seconds penalty - track limits
Nah that’s just a warning. He needs to do it 4 times for a penalty
Senna battle at the end was so great to watch ❤
Now you should do it on the Pikes Peak Track!
I was thinking of doing the second round in a short section of the old dirt Pikes Peak track
@@fabulouscarcharts5467na ah. Full course my man
It’s an interesting conclusion to make that the older Pike’s Peak cars get, the faster they are…
Fun video nonetheless
this is so interesting
also where do you get your mods from??
Nothing beats F1 when it comes to corners
6:41 that aint true, they limited the fuel capacity, but in quialifying the could reach maximun power.
Mexico's GP track would make a better comparison since it's higher up than the Red Bull Ring
Is a '94 Celica reliable?
Ask Scotty Kilmer.
good video! btw - when talking about the computer driving the other car, you mean AI - not IA
Yes thanks, french mistake !
Are the PP cars on slicks?
laptime unvalid because for esceeding track limits
That was a great video, but the track changes a lot in the results, maybe if there were less straights some Pikes Peak car would have won
the McLaren mp/4-13 had around 810 hp according to those days reports.
Where can i find the Celica ?
The 1998 F1 had close to 1000hp at qualifying and beryllium alloy pistons, 1 thing holding them back were the new tyres with grooves 😵💫

Isnt it the MP4/13 in the video ?
U wrote Mp4/14 but still, same car (surely nobody will notice)
There's in fact no Mp4/14 with the number 7, since the Mp4/13 was champion, they had to swap numbers.
I've never heard motricity used in cars..
My man made it easier for the Pikes Peak by choosing Ferraries instead of decent cars, also at 5:40 using the 412T as a aerodynamic reference.
