This is a weird AF event because here in the UK every Apple Event that has ever happens from a Apple start at 6pm but this one starts on October 30th at 11:59 PM why an odd time and date especially from Apple something must be going on.

Honestly, what I'm most excited for is the fact that if they release a M3 iMac, the M1 iMac will be significantly cheaper and Iwill finally buy one. :)

I would be shell shocked if Apple releases the m3 pro & max chip, but on the other hand I dont think they would have an event just for the imac and mbp 13” so it will be interesting to see. I wouldnt be surprised if the MBA got updated because even though the 15” just came out, it still is running the m2 from last year.
They kind of have to. Didn't you see the new qualcomm chips outperforming M2 Max both is performace and energy consumption.
This honestly is the first time in a while I’m surprised and excited about an event because I have no idea what to really expect. It’s nice and hope Apple keeps doing this.
This is going to be a new imac pro release based on the graphics animation of monochromatic color gradients, so the new imac will be somewhat space gray color.
As a surprise they should give away new single from U2 and say how good it sounds on new macs and then whole event will be worth it

Iam pretty sure the animated lighting on the invitation hints to the M3 sporting hardware raytracing. The Design of the logo resembles the raytraced apple watch faces they had in the past (Solar Analogue and Unity Lights).
I wouldnt expect an M3 Pro or Max, or if only a preview and availability early next year. Because just some weeks ago in the shareholder conference they expected mac sales to be down 10-20% for Q1 (apples year starts in Sep) compared to last year.
I’ll be very happy if we get M3 Pro & M3 Max chips cause I want to buy a new laptop but I’ll be shocked if it happens this soon

As much as I'd like to see a 27-inch (or larger iMac) doesn't sound like that's anytime soon. However, I'd take a faster 24-inch iMac and pair it with my Studio Display, using the SD as my main display and the iMac as a smaller second one. That feels like the setup I'm going to try if this all pans out.
I don't disagree but my current setup is a 27-inch 5k (2019) and Studio Display and I love the screen real estate and love the calibration between Apple displays (they look good next to each other, very consistent colors, etc.) If money was no object I'd just buy another Studio Display and Mac mini M2/Pro but that's a lot of dough . . . I'd rather move my current 5K 27 incher onto another employee and make due with the iMac and Studio Display working in tandem for me. @@garrusvakarian8709

It makes sense if TSMC got the 3NM process yields up. That would result in more units per wafer, would catch up from past delays and generate much more interest in people updating.
I was expecting the M3 Pro/Max MBP wouldn’t be announced till next year. I was going to wait to pull trigger on one. If they did come out at the event, that would be cool.

The new Macs need to match in performance the Vision pro, which gets released in 2-3 months, so maybe it makes sense for the sudden speed boosts?

Would be cool if there was a redesigned 13" MacBook Pro to match the design language of the new systems, but would be thinner than the current pros. I would love a 13" with a couple extra ports, with a cooling fan but not too thick.
And without touchbar?
@@m89hu Preferably no touchbar. Just basically a 13" Air with thats just slightly thicker to fit a fan and a larger battery. Two extra USB-C ports would also be cool.
I assume this is for the base M3. In 6 months we'll get the M3 Pro, 6 more months, the M3 Max, 6 months, the M3 ultra, 6 months the M4. This puts everything on a 2+ year cycle.
Boy, I was wrong. They just put all ALL the M3's!
It makes sense (without M3 so soon) if the big surprise is BIG iMac, in addition to refresh of smaller iMac. New iMac 32-inch gets M2 Pro with option for M2 Max, PLUS an iMac Pro with M2 Ultra (scary fast). Base iMac 24-inch gets M2 with options for M2 Pro or Max. That’s enough for the event.
I am exited for the event. Hopefully there is a new MagSafe Battery Pack tho.
Traditionally, mini would be left outdated, but if mini is new ”big imac”, it could get an update!

The "scary" part would be collaborating with another secret chipmaker for enhanced gpu support or something crazy..(hint hint..)..but its all fun to speculate :)
The true meaning of Scary fast. The M2 Pro and M2 Max 14" and 16" MacBook Pro life cycle ended Scary fast, in just 9 months.
i'm guessing they decided at the last minute. Tim Cook had to travel to China first to get reasurrances on production timelines before deciding when products can actually release.
I had to do a double take at the start of this video because before now I genuinely did not think that there was gonna be an Apple event this month. Maybe they would finally update the iMac in like a press release along with some iPads, but no we’re seemingly getting a full event. I had to check the website myself because this was a shock. Looking forward to see what they announce/release.
I think they need something for their shareholders, because Mac sales are very low this quarter compared to last years. And because they don’t have so many 3nm chips, it makes sense to only update the macs that don’t do that much volume.

Black theme on the poster could mean a redesigned Mac pro. We could hence see an M3 Extreme edition chipset.

I still work with a 2017 iMac 27 and a 2018 MacBook Pro 15 - both machines run good enough for me.

Likely: Mac Pro, Mac Studio, 16" MBPro all to M3 varieties. Intro of 27" iMac Pro with M3 (a Studio Display with an iMac inside).
Probable: 14" MBPro to M3.
Possible: M1 MBAir Discontinued. Minor price cut in M2 MBAir. 13" MBPro discontinued
Unchanged: Mac Mini. MBAir lineup.
The iMac (and above) and the MBP would be considered higher-end than the MBA and Mini. As the Mini and MBA are considered to be the entry-level devices. With this in mind, the rest of the devices (MBP, iMac, Mac Studio) would indeed get M3 upgrades while leaving the entry-level Macs on M2 chips (for now). It's kind of like being a laptop manufacturer and leaving your consumer grade laptops with i5 chips and your higher-end ones with i7/i9 chips. From that standpoint, it makes sense.
It will be another mouse for the Mac lol like the rumoured iPad release last week that gave us a pencil

I think Apple will do the Mac line up similar to how they do iPhone. The Mac Pro/Mac Studio/MacBook Pro get latest M3 chips, while the cheaper iMac/Mac mini/MacBook Air having M2 chips.
I would finally upgrade from my 2015 intel macbook to M3 Ultra max. Can't wait for it to come out!

iMac Pro 27" M3 ...
One "bit of a stretch" possibility here is that M3 being on the new TSMC 3nm process, and being limited capacity for now is reserved for their higher end products - namely Mac Pro. A product that should command high prices leading to lower volume sales, fillable by a more limited 3nm capacity. I dunno about you all but the Mac Pro was delayed suspiciously more than we all thought and when finally released just felt 'incomplete' and hardly differentiated from the Mac Studio. Giving it an exclusive M3 power boost could make some sense to make it the most powerful mac by far. The chassis also has a lot of thermal headroom. It doesn't make sense much to have an entire event for a Mac pro though, even with the announcement of the M3.
What makes more sense and is also leaked by Kuo is Macbook Pro updates that you talked about in this video. With a possible delay of the M2 and M3 always intended for later this year, and with Christmas season coming up, an M3 update to their Macbook Pro line makes sense as well, though I am curious about their capacity. Perhaps it will only be in the higher end Macbook Pros if they feel their capacity is limited. Then again, they put A17 Pro in their iPhone pro line which, while being a lower volume pro line in theory, is still very high volume.
Guess we'll find out next week! Macbook Pros with M3 most likely.

The “Mother Nature” bit in the last event still plays on my mind. I have a theory here on the “new chip” yet the products are all over-the-place in terms of lifecycle.
Why not allow for chip replacements in specific products. Apple to replace/upgrade the chips for our iMacs, Minis and maybe laptops for a price.
Environmentally this would be a massive move for Apple but could be a big moneymaker. Upgrade an M1 for an M3 for 500$? Esp in iMacs it would be incredibly popular.

Apple have to keep the planned refresh schedule otherwise it will mess up the refresh roadmap and launch far to late after the iPhone A series architecture it's based on. They don't want to be a generation or 2 behind on architecture on the M series when they launch new M chips.
Example M4 would need to launch after the A18 it's based on. If apple didn't keep the schedule M4 would launch after A19 and be a year behind on the architecture it's based on (A18).
*M2 is based on the A15 and M3 is based on the A17. So M3 will be 2 generations faster than M2. So this means at least 53% faster GPU. This is why there will be such a big performance increase.*
