First Tournament with Dad in the South was a Success! (Swimmin' a Cricket)

Had a BLAST with my dad fishing our first Montevallo Parent Scholars Tournament on Lay Lake! Weather was warm and cloudy all day making for great conditions to catch bass suspended and feeding up in the grass. We capitalized early to fill our limit and then opted to have fun for the rest of the day. It worked out great, but we just needed to get a couple more kicker bites! Always a good time when I get to share the boat with my dad.

Untamed Tackle 3/8oz Black/Blue Apex swimjig, (link in description) 7'6" Heavy Fast, 8.3:1 reel. I throw my swimjigs on straight braid 50-65lb.

@@BlairEricksonFishing Thank you for your response. What kind of trailer are you running & is that color a favorite of yours on the Coosa? Do you throw any other colors in that Swim jig?

@@ewwee2k I'm a huge fan of pepper shad and dirty perch in Untamed's lineup. Water clarity is everything for me, I catch them on white swimjigs better in the morning and evening and use a more natural bluegill color when it's bright and sunny. Black blue is great with cloud cover. That's as simple as I keep it. Check the Apex's out if you haven't, they are legit! Trailer is just a simple craw plastic like a zcraw or speedcraw
