      the amp isn't nearly as important as the pedals. Metalzone as the main distortion with an HM2 as a boost to get that mild version of the Swedish Chainsaw tone.

    This album, no lie, changed my life. I was 15 years old, and saw the music video for Nemesis on Head Bangers ball, on MTV2 late on a Saturday night. It was 2005. This was my introduction to female vocals in metal. And my introduction to melodic death metal. I honestly had no idea WHAT the fuck it was! This was before the internet was as accessible. Obviously I knew it was metal. But I had no idea what I was seeing/hearing. All I knew, is that I was LOVING IT!!!! I actually remember thinking, I was like, this sounds kinda like power metal, but really heavy like death metal. I found the cd Doomsday Machine at Wal Mart of all places! Bought it, listened to it for months straight! Amazing album! Put me on the path to become a guitarist. I discovered Children of Bodom shortly after. And the rest is history. I really miss the days of CD's. The internet is a great tool. But we are over saturated with content. Making it harder to truly appreciate something, like seeing a music video on TV. Geeking out. And searching for the CD. Then listening to the CD as a whole, in the proper order. I feel like we lost a sacred ritual.

      Dude I feel you…the days of cds just had a certain feel of being closer to the band you’re listening too. Children of bodom was my entrance into the world of death metal at the ripe age of 14 and like you said the rest is history.

      @9hk38f 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GonJilman Yes exactly! I can tell you about some cool new bands. You might check it out. Maybe even love it. But the process has lost its intimacy, and nostalgia. Cause your just gonna TH-cam it. Maybe even skip 30 seconds in, and say, ok this is cool. And that’s it. You aren’t a young teenager, who only has a handful of CDs. And you just plug it in, and walk to your bus stop.

    • @9hk38f
      @9hk38f 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GonJilman But since you are a fellow Children of Bodom fan, and we have been robbed of the musical genius of Bodom. I do actually recommend Nothgard, and Aephanemer. Nothgard is a German band, Aephanemer is from France. Amazing melodic death metal, similar to Bodom.

    This is the album that changed my life and the way I even looked at the guitar. I was so set on playing as fast as I could and the idea of vibrato never even crossed my mind. Everything was sweep sweep sweep picking back then lol. Everything I did sounded so sterile when I sat back and analyzed this album. I was like holy shit how do they sound like that so I spent countless hours watching lesson videos of them and taking a step back in my playing to really focus on articulation, feel, tone and vibrato to get the sound I fell in love with from that album. I found new favorites in the amott brothers and gus g and they are still to this day my favorite players!

    I like the camera angle which makes the headstock look the same size as the guitar body.

    Ola, you should try to find an old Michael Amott ESP Ninja. They might be hard to find nowadays, but they're such killer guitars.
