  • Hosted by journalist Candy Crowley, this National Summit on Resilience, the Brain and Meditation focused on the applications and effectiveness of TM to promote resilience and overcoming PTSD amongst veterans and warriors of combat.
Speakers: W. Scott Gould, Dr. John Hagelin,
Candy: "I learned TM many years ago and it has helped me manage the stresses in my life, which are minuscule compared to what the military personnel face everyday. But I am still aware of the compelling research on TM and PTSD."
    W. Scott Gould, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs: "Today many of our veterans suffer from post-traumatic stress. TM is finding its rightful place adding to the tools to provide better care for our veterans."
Dr. John Hagelin, Physicist: "There are 32 published studies showing levels of rest during meditative state are deeper than sleep and deeper by far that conventional ways of relaxing. The very deep rest gained during Transcendental Meditation is very effective at dissolving stress and anxiety."
    Cadets from 1143 Platoon:
Senior at Norwich University: "I began TM in 2011 Spring. I believe that due to TM I was able to multi-task between PT, training, and my academics. I was able to adapt to the current situation, and develop a strong sense of resiliency while still maintaining high motivation."
