    Jack Daniels Single barrel in Wisconsin is $57! Old Forester is $79. I did get a barrel pick for a restaurant here of Jack Daniels Single barrel for $50 and an Eagle Rare Barrel pick for $39! Great deal. To get the Eagle Rare tho you needed to order one of their other picks

    I have an Old Forester store pick 132 proof. Tastes like bannanas foster. Drinks hot. Have 2 different Jack Daniels barrel proofs. 1 is as a 132 proof store pick. The other is 126 proof I got on clearance for $33. They are all awesome. I have a bottle of Stagg I didn't like as much at first. After it sat for a couple weeks it opened up a bit. They are all awesome pours. I'm blessed to have them.

    Distillery sells old forester barrel proof for 90. I used to be able to find jack for 60 consistently and now the price is everywhere for 70, it stings to buy it in the future. Still a great value. I need to do a Brown Forman taste off comparing their offerings.

    I really enjoy your scoring system, as it relates to consumer value (beyond the label). However, I'd really like to have your scores on screen a little bit longer - especially the total both drams from each of you, as a summary, during your outtro. I enjoy the system, just a personal preference after re watching the episode twice for score summaries.

    • @stuffandwhiskey
      @stuffandwhiskey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Josh here. Fair point, although it is market dependent and our scoring is easily applicable to any person’s palate or market, so your score likely would differ.
      That said, in our market at the time of filming, we could grab Old Forester Barrel Proof if we got to the store in the first two days it released. The two thumbs up score was based on that *and* on how great the flavor was for the money. Since this filming our market here has changed and it would likely land a lesser score because it’s become much more difficult to come by (and any positive score it would get would only be because of the flavor and price being so great, because its availability is much more limited now in our market).
      OFSBBS is in some other head-to-heads coming up on the channel including one this Thursday against George T Stagg and you’ll see how our scoring adapts to availability over time.
      Cheers and thanks for watching Hector!

    • @kamahhl
      @kamahhl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stuffandwhiskey Hi thanks for the reply. I think that when you HAVE to know that something dropped or else you are out of luck, retail score goes down cause you can't find it for retail. Consumer is where you could say "I like'd it so I'd buy it again" if possible, which most of the time is not, could be another ding on the consumer side in my opinion because the consumer experience is affected. The "real world score" is really against Old Fo here and most limited release products to be honest.
      I enjoy the content please don't get me wrong, but for normal people who can't find most allocated bourbons or don't have time to visit many stores every week, the real world scores are going to be vastly against these allocated products.
      Props to Maker's which is the only one that comes to mind with available "limited releases".
