These are such cute DIY's. That's a good suggestion to use white bedding so you can change things up a bit from year to year. I was in college many years ago but will share these ideas with some of my nieces and cousins.

I like the gold one. the wall hang you could so easily add a pocket to it with another placemat and some more hot glue. But as is It could be used for almost any kind of Jewelry (I know this may sound strange but some bra hooks sewn/glued on for necklaces would be cute)
It can be a jewelry organizer especially for earrings but you can also use it to display photos and tack them up there with stud earrings

Instead of plywood, you could use a cork-board that way you can use it as a cute headboard and to put up pictures and notes!
