Unfortunately, there won't be a part 2 Sorry! I moved from that house a few months after making that video, BUT if you would like to see more DIY's then let me know in the comments!
► I don't think the bed will hold my weight...
DISCLAIMER!
I've had the bed for a bit over 3 months & it was still standing so very strong! IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT IT NOT SUPPORTING YOUR OWN WEIGHT... Apply some extra supports with hardwood or something of that nature.. like with any DIY you need to adjust certain things to suit your own needs!
► Can you have 'special cuddles' (or do any vigorous activities) on the bed?
Sure! If you believe you have built the bed sturdy enough as well as re-enforcing the structure. But proceed with caution.
► What size is your bed?
It's a double bed and I believe elsewhere in the world it is known as a 'full-sized bed'.
► How do you get up onto the bed?
I simply threw one leg over the other.. but you could use a small step, EASY! It's really not THAT ridiculously high.
► You put the bed in the wardrobe, why? And where do you put your clothes?
I put the bed inside the wardrobe frame so I could:
1. Have a view outside my window.
2. Have natural lighting flow through my room easily.
3. Feel like I was in a little hiding spot.
I then bought a free-standing wardrobe and used that in the corner of my room to store my clothes as well as using the boxes in the book unit/bed.
► What if you fall off the bed?
Ouch, that would hurt.

I'm curious to know why did you use 2 "four box cubes" for the back wall instead of using another "eight box cube"? I'm asking because I want to try this but if I can buy 3 units instead of 4 it will make life much easier lol.
The serum used to paint the planks is called varnish aka wood polish

I had the exact same white utility shelf seen in the beginning, I turned it into a storage bed by laying it horizontal, add board and legs underneath and flip open doors on top. I used two units to build a queen bed leaving some spacing in between.

For all those who have 90 x 200 cm mattresses: buy 4 shelves from IKEA (KALLAX, 77x147cm), put them together and fix the 6 slats. Thats it! :)

I made this bed awhile ago too I love it so so much when I have friends over I make a bed under the bed I sleep their and she sleeps on the top also so so much storage I am so glad I made this bed I would recommend it

That's really cool. If you end up having to pull out super tall nails again, you can place a fat chunk of scrap wood next to the nail, and use that to lever the hammer. I think I'm going to try this build in my studio. Thanks!

Love it! I was going to do the exact same thing for bed frame but with 4X Kallax cause I wanted it lower but then I concerned if it won't support my weight LOL but you're right that we can always use hard wood for a better support. Nice video! Keep it up

I've been meaning to fix up my bed (it was bought used for my brother (not the mattress!) then it was thrown in my room when he moved out) and it's a really brown...but I think I'm going to do this instead!!!! It came out so beautiful! I'd probably use the platform thing from my old bed tho...since I am on the heavy side, and I do tend to move around a lot....and I'll probably create alittle hammock thing for my cat using the platform thing from my bed and a small weed section...jk on that...but it is perfect for alittle privacy omg I JUST LOVE THIS SO MUCH. kinda bummed I didn't think of that xD
