Pretty good as a younger TCG, screams as something that is decently fun for now, but would get fleshed out more with like future releases or something to become something more. Will that happen? We'll see I guess.
I played this game at GenCon a few weeks ago. It's fine enough, but it's extremely random since you have to deal with draws and dice roles. The strategy that seems to be the best is to just stack as much agility as possible to get as many dice rolls as possible to reduce the randomness of the game. It's definitely not a very competitive game and is just something to mess around for dedicated fans and kids. There are much better card games out there for people looking for a more in-depth experience.
Anyone here remembers that Kenan & Kel episode from Nickelodeon where they play this penguin boardgame? I always, always wanted that game...my sister too.
That's how we got the lil alien dudes from the neopean moon called 'grundos'. They're the scientology ghosts. I'm glad they get to just be lil fwiends nao.
And the only lasting impact they ended up having was the creative team patterned The Three after 3 particularly creepy visitors to the Neopets offices.
I'd love to see a comparison between this and the original Neopets TCG from back in the day. I used to collect those cards and I actually learned how to play the game, but it's been so long that I don't remember what it was like. This doesn't seem to be the same rules that I remember, so it must be a different game. Doesn't seem as robust.
ooc but i think part of why sungwon is so good at soothing my neurodivergent ass brain (other than the animal crossing music which already does by its own) is the consistency of his style despite not being a big flashy channel, like with little stuff like "let me show you how to play", "this food was chosen with the help of my patreons" or "prozd plays games with steve". it's a weird compliment but it means a lot to me :)
Hi, I was wondering if you could maybe make a video of your top 10 favorite card games? If possible leaving out things like Marvel, DC and Magic since they're kinda too known. I ask because I tried searching for this but seems you haven't done a video of that just yet, and I mean ANY card game like if you have really fun (that you consider) boardgames that use cards then it applies to the video. Please 🙏🏻♥️ you're like the eminence in boardgames to me, nobody else explains with such joy and in a way I understand better.
The starter decks don't quite show how big turns can be. Once you do some constructed it's pretty common to draw into a massive grip of cards and perform some wild combos, but you have to want to get there and I suspect the starters may not sway people.
I've been playing this a bunch, kitchen table anyways. I generally loathe constructed games due to the complexity (love board games/deck builders, generally hate TCGs). I particularly love being able to use things that just appeal to me as opposed to being required to understand what works in meta. So as a non-TCG player, this one has been hitting me perfect with the managing your hand in game and the dice still gives it the ameritrashy insanity I'm looking for.
Me and my girlfriend really like this game. It's pretty stupid and has no business being as fun as it is. If you build your own deck it's a game that's designed to reveal cards in certain ways to bring them out sooner then they should.😆
I'm really disappointed by the new Neopets TCG. The new one is FAR worse than the original, which was shockingly good. The art is more boring, the gameplay is more boring, its just... dumbed down to a degree that removes any ability to strategize or have any depth. Also why doesn't it come with damage counters??? Great Video, Thank you for covering it!
Tbh I would kind of agree if these were the only cards out there, but there are better cards that do allow for a lot more strategizing and deckbuilding (though, I do feel those are a little limiting ((and also may be only limited by my knowledge of the ways decks can be built)) because to me there seems to be only 2 build-around decks at the moment, but I could absolutely be wrong about that). The strategy and interaction definitely spike up with the stronger cards imo, it's actually pretty complex when you start chaining certain cards together with one another.
This is a reminder to all that your Neopets are starving
They’re dead
They’re always going to starve, I’m locked out of my account
Your neopets are dying
Your neopets are dying
@@CapoTrolls Actually Neopets released an official shirt that says "Your neopets are still alive (And they're starving)"
ProZD is the real neopets ambassador. Sorry John Legend.
real
This is one I was actually thinking of picking up if it ends up being good, nice to see a review for it here!
ah yes playing Neopets on your elementary school's computer because your librarian was a cool person.
The site is going to blow up after this

I'm sad... This just feels like a baby version of Star Wars Destiny... Still good for families i suppose
Still waiting on that Crazy Cow card game review. Would love to hear your thoughts on Black Brie being banned.
He could maybe get quite a little mine gold if he truly dedicated to create that game and promoted it.

Yep that was my impression from GenCon too. A bit disappointing because I'm such a sucker for Neopets nostalgia.

My sis bought half a booster box and the cards were so nice! I really liked the brushes and codestone arts.
NEOPETS CARD GAME LET'S GOOOOO
Remember that brief time Scientologists acquired Neopets and tried to make them into a recruiting tool?
That's how we got the lil alien dudes from the neopean moon called 'grundos'. They're the scientology ghosts. I'm glad they get to just be lil fwiends nao.
@@Shadowrunner123
Wait, is THAT where the Grundos came from? I thought they were just funny little aliens that were freed from an evil mad scientist
They attempted it but the creators prevented them from actually adding anything Scientology related into the game itself thank god
And the only lasting impact they ended up having was the creative team patterned The Three after 3 particularly creepy visitors to the Neopets offices.
WHAT??
I'm getting moo cow flashbacks...
One thing is did you only play with the starter decks, I could see them printing higher complexity into packs

I tried so hard to find some kind of comparison but nobody ever acknowledges the old one T.T I actually still have some of my old cards lol
Now it's the attack phase, don;t forget to roll 20 dice and count your dice score!

The game is a loooot better when you actually flesh out decks, the starters are super basic.
I only know what this is from TheOdd1sOut

I’ve been wanting to grab this for so long i’m glad you’ve reviewed it!!
Thank you so much for the support!
I hadn’t heard of this - Neopets has a special place in my heart and I think this would be nice to have.
You might like Warhammer Underworlds, its dice and card combos. It’s this but more nuanced.
I don't understand what Korbat Defender does.
the gameplay looks fun but the art is really simple compared to other TCGs which this wants to be

Definitely agree this is a kids card game. I love the Fire deck, but the mechanics are too light for me, haha.
that green fox is so cool
seems on the same tier as basr jungle fossil pokemon. yay for a game stepping up into that tier of complexity for beginners n'at
U ever played Weiss Schwarz? That TCG feels the most like a boardgame to me
Oof you're speaking honey to my ear with this, will Google it NOW.

Time for be to go to the soup kitchen to get some free food for my starving Neopets.
Oh wow Neopets, this is crazy
Looks like some cute fun. Kinda weird it doesnt come with damage counters

Oh gosh all my Neopets are long gone since I haven’t fed them in years😹
Very Nice 🎲🎲
Do you play keyforge?
my neopets account from 2001 isn't accessible anymore, SAD.
Did they give you the codes too???
👍
Can you do smash or pass with the neopets?
I would watch that.

Hi
Please do a review on Stardew Valley board game review
ProZD have you ever tried out one piece TCG? its real fun and has some dope cards
It's no Neopets TCG though is it
Neopets is still a thing?

Looks like a shadow of the old Neopets TCG. Overall, I'm not super impressed.
