Good Job, for a clearer contrast between Regan and Singer suggest you check out Pollan's Omnivore's Dilemma and consider why he chooses to take on Singer vs Regan, it comes down to the individual rights vs untilitarianism view.

A bit strange that a philosopher believes x is probably wrong yet does it anyway?
The whole point of studying ethics is to change our actions for what is right. Nice to see you take it seriously 😐

There are many things we know to be true but fail to act on. This is the paramount struggle of effective altruism. For instance, 50% of blindness is caused by cataracts that can be cured by a 15 minute surgery that costs as little as $50. And yet, we choose to spend that money on drinks at the bar or a new plant for the living room. We’re essentially saying that we believe the buzz we get from a few drinks at the bar is more important than curing someone else’s blindness. We may object to this accusation with our words, but our actions say otherwise.
All this to say, we’re not horrible people for this hypocrisy. We just have a challenging time sacrificing our comforts and traditions, but you’re definitely right that, eventually, we should all turn these principles to practice. If you go you’re whole life without living what you preach then you’re certainly at fault.
